PART 1 - Thank you kelly! I have dreamt for years that someone would do this and who better than Kelly Slater, the man who has helped the sport of surfing grow by leaps and bounds. The largest flaw in competitive surfing (I say competitive because part of the joy of soul surfing is getting your spot on that perfect day, etc.) compared to other sport is we depend so much on mother nature. The perfect wave pool will 100% eliminate that and surfing can be judged like half-pipe snowboarding.

If this is built, then in 1 or 2 years you'll see kids from inland be able to do any manuever done by the most advanced surfer now in the ocean. Surfing is not that

advanced compared to skateboarding, snowboarding, fmx, bmx, etc. it's just that it's so limited in advancing by the very conditions that nature provides. The other sports have continual mediums to progress, practice, improve and refine.

Surfing is so constricted by nature, it's not even funny. The talent pool will be huge.

This will be the furure of surfing. There is no telling what the groms will be able to do with this as a training ground. It will open a whole new book on consistency and experimentaton for the world of surfing. Something like the jet pool for the alpine skiers or the trampoline, but so much better. How many horsepower is the perfect wave? The perfect wave all day every day in kansas city -- that's too much.
