IMO this is one of the weakest toys to come out of Animated. The armor is pretty sparse, doesn't form any sort of believable trailer, and is totally partsformer.

Of course, in the show all he really got was a jetpack and the Hammer, so I guess it's appropriate. It's just not that impressive as a toy.

But I do want to see it on the Deluxe mold. That might make it more interesting.

So many homages on this one! The bare jetpack (w/o wings) is bares resemblance to the original Jetfire's boosters/jetpack. The wings are a bit of an homage to Cybertron Super Mode Optimus Prime. Also, as you said, they're also an homage to Powermaster Prime w/ Appex armor (aka Super God Ginrai).

The clear version here, was a really big detractor (for me). So I'm glad to see the armor works w/ the American version and that they didn't add a crucial peg or something like that to attach it.

Usually the Prime is one of the best of any line. Not always, but usually. Animated Prime wasn't as great as some of the other figures in the line. That is, until now. Balance has been restored.
