@thychaos - well, they are the one's I grew up with so Bathory seems like a bunch of second-bananas to me. But hey, to each his own. I've tried listening to Bathory, but just can't get into them.Its partly nostalgic too. I'm 41 years old now and listened to Venom when I was 17...so naturally I'm thinking of the ' wasted years' with fondness.

@Boxingbear you should, Bathory is probably the biggest influence on black metal (you probably already know though). id say the self-titled, Under the Sign of the Black Mark, Blood Fire Death, and Hammerheart are the most essential.

I'm really confused.. did Burzum just rip Bathory totally off? Becuase Burzum's war sounds exactly like Necromansy, and the way that he screams in it sounds exactly like the way he screams in this song.. I'm confused.. seriously.

@babadef IDK, theres a certain vibe that comes with the poor recording of this album. Especially because it wasn't intentional like many BM bands today. Quorothon just didn't have the money to make it sound good and, to me at least, that's part of the appeal of this album.

Remastering this with the clean, sterile and dead production style of today would just take away from it.
