  • I would if I could but I can't because I faint at the sight of a needle and I'm only 13 but I def would recommend this to anybody

  • I went recently...had pretty much the same experience as Charlie did...

  • I gave blood a month ago it was totally worth the little bit of pain to know that you're saving lives :) I was a bit nevous first and it took the nurse ages to find a vein so it hurt a bit and after i did feel a bit faint, but yeh I'm defo gunna be giving blood again! It's the best feeling knowing you've helped someone to not die :D

  • When I'm old enough I'll give blood. I don't have issues with needles and blood so I definitely don't have any excuse not to do it :)

  • I tried donating blood last year but couldn't because my blood pressure was too high since I was so nervous. I think if I had seen this video it may have made me feel a bit calmer. I'd like to give blood but I'm pretty sure I'll always be too nervous. Apparently in America we don't have a local anesthetic option either.

  • Yeah, people in America do donate blood a lot... Blood donations even happen at my school all the time. I've never been able to, though because I'm sixteen right now and I'm below the weight requirements, but I'll be seventeen before my senior year ends, so I hope they do the setup sometime after October.

  • O.o

  • Did anyone else feel how awkward it was when Charlie said sex....lol

  • "And they said oh and it means you have a very exposed vein. And I said Thank.You." xD When Myles says "Thank you", he really sounded like Severus Snape xD I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING xD

  • I know this video is old now, but I am a Blood Donor :)

I went for the first time because my dad goes on a regular basis and I thought it was a great thing he was doing. Unfortunately, I was anaemic a few times and didn't pass the iron test (about 4 tiems I think) so haven't gone as often as I wanted. But I recommend that everyone do this when they can. It really can save a life. And as Myles said, a moment of discomfort is worth it .

PS. I am the same blood type as my husband :) Bonus

  • And (I wouldn't recommend this) but I gave when I was underweight. All they did in the UK was ask me if I weighed enough, and I just said yes. Thing is, I haven't put on any weight since high school and I left 8 years ago! As long as you're physically healthy and pass the other tests I have had no problem.

  • so a month ago or so my school had a blood drive and I signed up but about 15 to 20 minutes while waiting I was informed that I did not meet the weight requirement of my height, now I looked it up and found this chart and guys 5' and up had to weigh 110 Ibs and up, girls of my height 5'2" had to weigh about 135 Ibs, I found this so weird, I weigh a bit more than 110 so if I want to do it next year I guess I have to gain some weight in muscle because I don't think I can gain weight in fat haha

  • The first time I donated blood, they started with my right arm, put the needle in, dug around for a couple minutes, then decided that they couldn't get the vein so they moved to my left arm, which was successful. haha both elbows were bruised. The second time, I asked them to start with my left arm (which worked better the 1st time). They couldn't get the vein and had to go to my right arm! lol what the heck! I don't mind though, I still give blood as often as possible and plan to foreverr! :)

  • I know this is over a year later but I thought I'd comment because I'm an avid blood donor. I personally love giving blood and I do it whenever I can. I don't have any problems with it at all and I've never felt faint afterward. It usually makes me feel quite euphoric and lovely. I've also donated plasma a few times with no ill effects. The people who work at blood centres are very nice and generally care about your well being so I highly recommend doing it!

    Great video!

  • I would like to donate blood but because I lived in the UK between certain years and then moved to New Zealand. They won't let me now because of mad cow disease or something,

  • I have given blood once so far. A positive, oh yeah! It's not that bad at all and you get free food afterwards so I'm not complaining. Only thing is I don't advise anyone to run up stairs right after like I did as I fell on my face. Yep, not my best idea I have to say.

  • how old do you have to be?

  • @pOWeRbYeVIL 17 and you have to be over 7 and a half stone I think. Then there's a questionnaire as well but I guess you knew that already. :)

  • @MissLLastic thanks(: damn.. im going to have to put on weight then :s :L

  • i donate blood every 6 weeks. its fine and i always drink lots of water before so can usually fill a bag in 4-6 minutes. which is awesome because i hate needles but i no its for the greater good so i just suck it up. and i also enjoy the bikkies at the end of it all ;)

I have never donated Plasma before but am considering starting to do it in the fucture as it can be done more often.. ...

  • I dontated blood once with my friend. It wasnt too bad, you get to know your blood type. Yay for A+! =)

  • where in the uk do u guys live? and yep, i did it but ..like u said, if it went terribly wrong better not say anything...so I'm gonna keep my mouth shut;) but heeey people , do it, see, i'm still alive..so everything fine=)^^

  • u know charlie?? i guess all the bigger youtubers coming from england know eachother;)

  • They told me I had small veins.

Everything about me is small =(

  • CHARLIE STILL HASN'T DONE IT!

    MAKE HIM DO IT!

I REPEAT HE HAS NOT DONE IT!

    SOMEONES DIED BECAUSE OF THAT!

    thankyou

  • @06stephend Why not tweet him? I've actually got it planned again, so hopefully he'll join me again =]

  • Donating blood is the easiest thing you can do, and it really does save people lives. It's only like 30 minutes every 4 months, you probably spend more time on the toilet within those 4 months. It's pretty painless about as comparable to havng your ears pierced.

So if you're thinking of donating but aren't sure ... just do it and make a difference.

  • When I'm old enough, I'm gonna donate blood :)

  • i cant give blood because im gay :( its so stupid they still have that rule here in australia

  • i would have no problem in giving blood.. i really want to, but i don't weigh enough. which upsets me. its because im only 4' 11", and 100 pounds. and you need to weigh at least like 110-115 pounds. :( me and my damn shortness..

  • I gave blood a few times...But then I got malaria, so I can't again until I DEFINITELY get rid of it. Cos occasionally I still get fevers & hallucinations...generally of kangaroos.

But when i DID give blood [entirely unconnected with getting malaria!], there's nothing to worry about - i hate needles, but went with a friend. She held my hand when they injected me, then went off to give herself. It really was fine. I'd love to give again, especially with a rare blood type,& will asap. Do it! Xxx

  • 2:56 XD

  • I cant give blood cause....I'm fifteen....lol

I have no problems with needles or blood though

yes, I AM the sort of person who watches their injections lol

so when I'm old enough I'm DEFINATELY donating blood

  • I can't give blood because I take thyroid medication :(

  • I just donated for the first time last week. I'm terrified of needles, but I wanted to help... so I did and it really wasn't as bad as I expected. Yay for saving lives! =D

  • I can't donate blood! Im too young! sad.. :(

  • ohhh mannn this is making me cringe haha blachhh.

  • I donated blood about a year ago. It REALLY took a lot of energy out of me.

I'd have gone back by now, but I've been getting tattoos over the last year and it's a rule/law that you have to wait 12-18 months after getting a tattoo before you can donate again. So... I fail lol

  • i havent donated blood yet but im really worried about getting it done has anyone got any advice for me much appreciated

  • I'm apparently a bleeder and it spewed right at the man drawing my blood.

  • I donated blood for the first time just before christmas, I thought it went really well. They also said to me ooo thats a good vain too lol. But yeah it all went really well for me and just thinking of the good it does for other people is what I think counts the most.

    Sarah x

  • CHARLIE!! :) ..Xx

  • haha bondage.. pricks...

    lovely video ;D

  • Are they going to us a blade to take our blood? j/k

  • well done! I couldn't do it :( im terrified of needles.. too scared to even go get a blood test haha

  • and they said i had an exposed vein and i said....thank you. LOL! you make me laughhhh myles <3

  • Super funny that Charlie couldn't give blood because he was in America recently. People in America donate blood all the time. :D I gave blood today, for example.

  • Whoa, that Charlie dude has the cutest smile ever :0

  • have you ever seen his vids before i would recommend them they are really funny :)

  • They said I have a good vein toooo. And they only give me a pint of water when I go and it's hot. Also I find the iron test hurts more than the actual blood taking bit.

I'm AB+, 1/100 people have it. So I'm boringly common.

  • Ha ha! You guys are awesome . . . who knew donating blood could be this entertaining, lol. Well done!!

  • U to feet to each other..Are u gonna mary?

  • lol @ Charlie's face when Myles says "bondage" 2:45

    so many inuendos haha

    but well done Myles :D

  • wow. im lame. as soon as i clicked on this video the very first thing i said was "HEEEY! OH MY GOD ITS CHARLIE!"

  • I wanna give blood! I was going to do it a little while ago but I wasn't allowed cos I was on antibiotics ¬_¬

My mums been giving blood for like a million years, so I'm definately gonna go with her next time :]]

    And I love your hair!!!

  • I couldn't do it. We have them at our school every year. I can't stand needles. I tried but got nausea.

    Felt like a wimp

  • OMFG. its that creepy girl from 789 you met. Samantha, Spimping. and yea, im subscribed to charlie. oh my i didnt know you knew him. im jealous. oh my. im so happy i met you.

  • We do it at my school every year. A bunch of nurses come in and if you'd like to give blood you go to them during your lunch hour and they take it. I've only given blood at a doctors office, but I've had an IV in each arm.. I don't even care about needles or blood. Beside, I've got the rarest blood type so... my blood is useless for the most part, nobody else needs it.

  • thats kinda the point of giving it, the rare'er some say the better, imagine if u needed some, were would u get it?

  • True... But I'm also the universal receiver or something... I think. Meaning I can get blood from anyone no matter their blood type. An exact match is preferred... but it doesn't matter much. I always assumed they would want my blood much more because of how rare it is... but, some doctor told me that it was somewhat useless.. I dunno. I donate anyway.

  • HEY IT'S CHARLIE!

  • my school has this wonderful program where we can give blood with the consent of our parents if we're under 18. i'm too scared to do it though :( i'm always worried i'll get turned down. that's like telling me there's something wrong with the stuff pumping through my veins, giving me life.

  • I've always wanted to donate blood since i was little. I still do but I'm not 18 yet.

  • I want to donate blood, but Im not 18 yet. I don't know what the rules are in the UK or USA but in Denmark you have to be 18. My cousin has a blood disease so blood donating have saved his life.

  • I want to give blood. but my brother had tried and they said he couldn't because he had lived in the Uk

    :S

    (i'm from malta btw)

  • My friend Ian told me that he wasn't aloud to give blood because he is gay. They just wouldn't let him. Ahhhh, yeah. Weird... I guess.

  • you have beautiful smiles.

  • Giving blood is nothing compared to the life or death situations the recipients of your blood will be in. I think I would think of them while I was giving blood and hope it would really help to save someone's life.

My mum had a transfusion while receiving chemotherapy for ovarian cancer which meant she lived for a little bit longer, which she did as a result .

    So proud of you two.

  • i'm terrified of giving blood.

the good vein part made me smile. very nice.

i think they would choose my left arm. you can see a little dot that is my vein

i second the challenge charlie to donate blood.

i want to be the both of your friends.

  • i've donated blood tice since i've been 18.

i didn't know what to say when they said i had a "good vein" either :P

we have these annual blood drives at my school, and it was kind of freaky because you heard horror stories from everyone about puking and fainting and all that, so the process leading up to it was lovely.

...all the same, thats great you gave blood. CHARLIE NEXT.

  • I think it's great that you donated your blood!

I donate at least twice a year. They do them at my college and every year around Holloween we compete with another college to see who can get more pints donated. We've won the last three years!

  • LOL @ your exposed vein story.

  • ill chicken out

not because of blood but i hate needles

  • i would do it but they don't want my gay blood. despiteme only ever sleeping with one woman from the age of 17 to now. so they can fuck off

  • A lot more lives would be saved if they allowed gay people to donate blood. Heterosexual women have a higher rate of HIV than gay men.

  • they don't let gays donate?! wtf??

  • I would post supporting links but youtube won't let me as it thinks it's spam.

  • If you're so passionate about it you should research and comment on the fight in both the UK and the US to try and allow gay people to donate blood. As of right now, I'm banned 'indefinitely', because of the fact I'm gay. That checklist Charlie talks about includes the question 'have you ever had sex with men', and in the US they also ask women - say yes and ur banned.

"In 1999, for the first time, the rate of heterosexually acquired HIV diagnoses overtook the rate of diagnoses in [gay] men."

  • can't you just lie? though i guess thats really unfair anyway...heh

  • I'd love to give blood but being gay, it's not allowed. How ridiculous is that?

  • are you kidding????

  • What that I'm not allowed or that it's ridiculous! Both are true

  • I'm actually not afraid of blood but of needles, especially if they are in some part of my body - so I suppose, giving blood (which means having a needle in my arm for a certain time) would freak me out! Seriously!! x'3

But I think it's cool that you did it because it's really a good thing. :)

  • i just gave for the 3rd time last week and the way you give blood and the way we in america do is a little different ....and why can't you give if you were in america?

  • because when people travel the world, they can get deseases which we dont get here, so the body does strange things to try and fight it. even in a clean, normal (un thrid world) country

  • I fainted one time. My Mum rushed us out as soon as I was done. No biscuits or anything... I never let her forget it!

But it's a great thing to do, been going since I was old enough.

  • hey lol

so ive given blodd twice this year. i started cos my bf got cancer and well i no people with cancer and premature babies needed the nblood and well if i dont need it all well then sure have it. but yea the process is all very quick and quite painless. and the prick test they do is for heamaglobin levels.

as they said once u do give blood u feel obliged to go back as it is a great experience. and for every 1 bag of blood you donate u are potentially saving 3 lives.

    all fun stuff lol

  • Hey Miles, I gave blood recently and its not as bad as people think.. If you worry then you're expecting the shock more so it 'hurts' more. If you're calm then it dont hurt as much

One thing you should advertise more is blood platelets... There are a few people who have a high count (including myself) and its necesary for allowing blood to clot. Blood platelets are (in some places) in more demand than whole blood, it helps treat haemophilia. Info can be found on the blood website

  • ya same i used to give blood every year but i got sleeve tattoos and on my chest and neck so i cant for a while

  • I've wanted to donate blood for a long time...

but i've gotten tattoos and piercings at least once every 6 months in the past 3 years. Meaning I can't give blood.

    Maybe next year?

  • My friend went to donate blood 2 years ago and the iron test is what saved her life. She found out that she had leukemia from deciding to donate blood that one day.

  • wow. thats crazy

  • Aww.. Charlie and Miles are so cute!!

    :)

  • awesome that you did that! why cant you donate blood if you've recently been in america?

  • CHARLIE! :D

I've had to draw blood before for tests and stuff, NOT FUN. i'm proud of you miles!

and charlie, its too bad you couldn't, but hey you skipped out on pain, so thats good ;)

  • i really wanted to donate blood but i have had 4 blood transfusions so im not allowed, i also wanted to donate bone marrow but i cant do that either.. the bone marrow is for the hard core people lol but its totally worth it!!!

  • broken link in siiddeebarrr

  • *sighs happily* my two fav guys on YouTube doing something awesome :)

I've been giving blood for several years now and I've never had a bad experience. Everyone's always lovely and you get free bikkys!

I'm AB+ which only 1 in every 300 people has, so I feel I'm being a real help to those who need it.

If you're afraid of blood/needles the nurses are trained to work around it to make you as comfortable as possible. It's a really worthwhile thing to do so I say, go for it!

  • well done.

I dont like needles and im due a jab soon.

    how long does it hurt?

  • Congrats, newbie! Next thing ya know, you'll be a member of the gallon club. Or, I guess you guys have the litre club?

  • i think they should keep a record of where your blood goes and then send you a letter telling you who it helped and get that person to send you a letter or something. 8D how cool would that be. THEN you would feel AWESOMECOFFEE 0_0

  • You've both got beautiful smiles :)

  • your hair is too awesome i swear

good for you giving blood by the way :D i'm not sure how old you have to be - i remember last time i tried i was told i was too young.. i'm approaching 18 though so (Y)!

  • Yeah Myles! I donate as often as possible because I am a universal donor (meaning my blood is the only type everybody can have O neg). To anyone who doesn't donate because they're afraid of needles, think of the person afraid of dying. Their fear of death totally trumps your fear of needles - donate!

  • every year my high school does a blood drive. (when the little bus thing comes to the school) and you get a little bonus from your teachers if you donate sometimes. and i would have been allowed to donate if i had printed a special form and had my mom sign it, but for some reason my teacher told me they wouldn't accept that. but next year i will be of age and i will definitely donate, even though i am very afraid of needles. lol

  • Thanks Myles (and Charlie) for making this video and of course donating blood. I had a couple of operations last year and needed blood, so I really appreciate whose who take the time and go through a little discomfort to help others.

Great video and thanks again for raising awareness!

  • OMG it does not hurt!

  • I've done it 3 times so far :)

I keep getting my ears pierced though...So I have to wait months between each go.

I had bad veins LOL So they found it hard get get the needle in...But all in all it's just a small bit of your time to help save someone so it's worth it. My granddad had cancer and was anemic so he had a lot of blood transfusions...that's my reasoning for doing it :)

  • I'm O+

I'm giving blood again on the 15th :D

  • I want to donate blood but I am not allowed to. Even though I have had negative (OK) blood tests consistently for 30 years, they still won't allow me to give blood because I'm gay. They assume I'm diseased. Doesn't matter that every blood test I've ever taken has shown I have no diseases, they won't let me donate. 2nd Class citizen. Not allowed to save someones life by donating blood.

  • i saw that on degrassi. i think its rather dumbbb.

i really dont understand why someone who is gay cant give blood, if they are not diseased or anything. =/

  • Gay = Way better chance of having aids.

  • being gay doesn't mean you are going to get aids.

it depends on your partner. it's like playing the lottery, the more you play the more chances you have. if you are settled with one person, male or female, and they do not have it, then you won't get it. (unless through other means, like from used needles)

  • wait they actually deny that to people who are gay???

i saw that on the degrassi tv show before, but i didn't think that they would actually deny people in real life. that is truly unfair, especially because your blood test come out clean.

  • lovesss

  • I'm glad that you completed more of your year's goals. :)

  • Oh, no problem. Sometimes I write misinformation if I'm up late on the computer.

  • MY TWO FAVOURITES IN ONE :D

  • It hurts more when they prick your finger. I don't like that part. I liked watching the guy next to me's blood go into the bag, and the way the scales thing tips.

    xx =Þ xxx

  • I've wanted to donate blood for two years now, but I'm not allowed because I'm anemic apparently. I'm hoping that I can do it soon though :/

  • I'm anemic and have been donating for 20 yrs. I take an iron tablet about an hour before donating.

  • I had no idea that you could do that. Thanks for letting me know, I'm definately going to look in to it :)

  • Myles, youre a hero! By taking little a time you are saving lives. Donating goes a long way and it really saves lives. Platelets are the most needed since they have the least shelf live. By donating on a regular basis you can help a large number of people. In some areas the rate of donations are very low. Ive been donating for years and I am proud to say that I have donated so far 12.5 liters of blood products (combination of red cells, platelets and plasma). Please continue and thanks.

  • Donated for years. But in the US once you're out of the closet you're banned from giving blood. Sucks. Good old America.

  • I'm actually Type 1 Diabetic so I can't donate blood. I would if I could, it's truly an easy and simple process to go through to help save a life. And I think they should find a way for type 1 diabetics to give blood because with all the insulin shots they have to take, a little prick is no big deal.

But I'm glad you have good veins Myles! I have awful veins and when I have to have blood drawn, they usually have to prick me over and over, trying to get a vein.

And Charlie, YOU BETTER GO! =P

  • When I gave blood, I almost passed out, haha...My blood was coming out too fast and my blood pressure spiked down and i was starting to feel so sick that I almost vomited while giving blood. My face was snow white and I started to loose the feeling in my arms and legs and hands. They took the needle out and made me cough a lot and drink juice.

It's hard to judge whether or not you'll have a good reaction to the blood drawing at first :P Ah, well.

  • I remember I tried to donate on my 17th birthday (how old you have to be to donate in Canada), but my iron was too low. Every year after I tried to donate on my birthday and I couldn't due to various reasons (mostly just new piercings or tattoos). I'm going to try again this year on my 21st birthday, hopefully they'll let me.

  • I think I remember the nurses who took my blood telling me that 1 pint, or however much they took saves 3 people's lives. It's pretty crazy.

They love me at the blood bank, btw. I have good veins too, I also have a very fair complexion so my veins are super easy to see. I get a phone call from them when it is safe for me to give blood again. :D Fun stuff. I would suggest taking the food and drinks that they give you and going out to eat afterward, you do feel faint if you don't.

  • I was about 17 when I first donated at a school blood drive, it went fine. I actually tried to donate again in octber but they deferred me till this sunday since i got my nose pierced at home. I do plan to donate blood and/or plasma this weekend.

  • oh.. thank you..

    LMAO. good vien indeed ;)

  • But i mean I just realized that may be taken negatively, but out of all the kids that donated it was only the two girls who had issues and that's why you get to chill with your biscuits and oj afterwards for as long as you need to feel you can walk around normally again. =]

  • They have a blood drive at my school, and two girls fainted. I felt bad for one of them, because while one of them fainted on her way to the snack table, the other one fainted in the middle of the hallway.

  • since im vegetarian i do not have enough iron to donate. and i have the most rare blood type, AB- and i wish i could.

  • Cant you take iron pills to pump up the iron in your blood in substitution for meat? my sister does that. her iron is fine and she is vegitarian

  • You could take iron supplements to increase your iron levels.

  • Danica, I'm anemic and donate all the time - I simply take a multi-vitamin and an iron supplement about an hour before I go. So, you wish that you can donate blood has been granted! Take an iron tablet before you go.

  • I'd love to help save lives unfortunately i'm not allowed to donate my blood because i had a complete blood transfusion when I was a baby. I don't know if they accept this kind of people's blood in england but in france it's forbidden to give your blood if you had a blood transfusion, even a minor one.

I htink it's kinda stupid because you can have your blood tested and see if everything's fine with it... but even if you're "clean" they don't let you donate.

  • Great topic, guys, for a video. Thank you for being public service minded and for helping make people more aware.

  • Blood is actually blue until the needle hits the vein which oxygen thent turns it red. That's why we have blue veins. Congrats on giving Myles.

  • Nope, blood is really red. It appears blue in our vein's because of the light filters through our skin. Some kid in my class did a report on it. :D

  • no lacybunny is correct

  • i went to give blood, but they wouldnt let me cos i had got my ear peirced a few months before hand...but i get to give some in november or after =)...so i'll be going then!!

  • your veins are very exposed

  • I hate needles, but I plucked up the courage to give blood in my lunch hours when I used to work in London.

I gave up to 13 blood donations but after having Glandular fever and jaundice I could not give it. So I never went back to give more after that,, but I got a bronze pin :)

  • congratulations...

    ona done, 29 to go!

    ^^

  • you have to be 17 to donate blood in california, so imma do it on my 17th birthday whichi is in 12 days!

  • Actually, you know, you can only drink a pint of blood before you will vomit, because that's all that the human stomach can handle, and that's how much they take from you when you donate blood.

So that would be a pretty interesting Challenge Charlie

  • The ridiculous thing is, if you're gay, you're not meant to give blood, because you're seen as more of a risk than a straight person. How discriminatory is that! The facts speak for themselves: HIV is more prevalent worldwide in straight people, and to suggest gay people are more at risk only deters from what could inevitably save lives: the use of a healthy persons blood.

  • When I give blood in the U.S. they don't ask me if I am gay or straight. They ask about risky sexual behaviors -- unsafe sex, multiple partners, etc.

  • That's how it should be. But in the UK, I believe one of the questions on the form, whereby any answer of Yes means you can't continue, is "Are you a practicing homosexual?" Makes it sound like a cult! Lol

  • Actually it says 'Are you a man who has ever had oral or anal sex with another man?' Because this is the group that has the highest percentage of sexually transmitted infections. They don't have anything against homosexuals.

  • i was going to donate this year but they would not let me becuse i am not 16 yet(i am 15 1/2 ....it was stupid i felt it was stupid that i could not save someones life becuse i am not 16 yet...

  • Charlie had a hard time not laughing at the word bondage.

  • i wanted to give blood a few weeks ago but wasn't allowed to do so because of mononucleosis..i'm definitely going to donate blood as soon as i'm allowed to. one of my friends had a terrible accident a few months ago and needed a lot of blood during surgery. it was right then that i realised i could save peoples lifes.

  • Charly, why did they say you couldn't donate blood because you had been to america?

  • bamzfuturewife,

If you travel to certain countries you could be deferred for a few weeks or up to one year due to certain potential exposure to certain diseases or outbreaks in that country. The same thing goes for if you had a piercing or a tattoo (in some areas).

  • I donated blood for the first time on Monday it was amazing I loved watching the blood drain out into the little bag!

I thought the iron test was worse than the needle I will definitely be going back though .

Did you get your first time badge? My donors book came today with my blood type and a letter saying thank you!

  • damn you're cute

  • I think having sex with people with diseases is something you shouldn't do anyway.

  • Well good for you man!

I can't, or at least couldn't, donate blood because my iron was too low. It also probably didn't help that I feinted on the finger prick and had to be caught with a wheelchair. I get really lightheaded when needles enter my body, so I'm really glad I'm not a heroin addict, otherwise I'd probably be in a coma.

  • well done for donating blood! as someone who's had 7 blood transfusions in the past 8 months, i'm so greatful to all blood donors. i don't think some people realise how simple it is, and it saves lives! i wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for those people who took the time out of their day to give blood..

  • they gave my sister a kit kat =]

  • Want to give blood - No fear of it atall, how ever i can't seem to go a year without a piercing/tattoo...

  • I've been donating blood for 3 years now and it is one of the simplest ways to help people. Neither needles nor the sight of blood bothers me at all, so it isn't a big deal for me. What I love about where I live is that, besides the knowledge that you have helped someone, we get little souvenirs aswell. I have already collected 7 tea/coffee cups with different designes and logos, but there are other things like scarfs and chocolate and stuff.

I think I'm due for another trip to the bloodbank :)

  • What sucks for me is I cannot give blood because my mother has a blood disease called Homocysteinuria, therefore I could pass it on to someone else, so instead, I do my part by volunteering at blood drives. I pass out drinks and snacks and help with people that are feeling faint.

So I may not be in able to save someone's life by giving my blood to them, but I can do my part by helping those who can give blood =)

  • I like giving blood! Feels pretty awesome.

  • I'm afraid of needles!!!

  • I gave blood yesterday!

They didn't test both my arms, just asked which.

Only took a few mins! I bleed fast!

Waited bloody ages tho. Skipped the eating bit after a bit, was low on time.

  • I've given blood before. It's not that bad. You're out of it for a little bit, but nothing too bad.
