i beat the whole game with vette. the only problem i had was the 2nd to last boss (that guy was a dick) but otherwise it wasnt that hard without quinns healing.
The automatic non-selectable dialog your character says is just like the dialog system in Dragon Age 2. Depending on the majority of the types of dialog chosen your character's personality is basically "frozen". In your case, since your light side, the non-selectable dialog your character says is mostly good instead of bad.

Yes, pretty much, although some Act 1 bosses are harder than that. Jedi Consular one is Lv 34 instead of 32. (I guess a typo on the devs part).

mmm all i remember is i got the helmet from a sidequest chain, and the others from some commendation vendors.
i went through the whole game modding them instead of getting new ones :P
