Thank you for this tutorial! It was actually easy to follow! Now, do you know how to create videos, and characters, kind of like a Halo 3, BF3, GoW 3, or MW3 commercial??? I am really starting to like this kind of stuff and I need tips on getting started. I'm completely new at this stuff
@ExhaleMe I know it's been 3 months, but thats not the case. When he made the model in blender, he stuck half the cube under the place where the ground was supposed to be.
You're best off using Blender to render the 3D object directly onto the movie. You've already got it there ready to use, no need for After Effects in this case. As @administratorslo said, Blender will do it all.
Now to do it without after is something that I have not learned yet still but what I do know is that you insert your object in blender using the sequence editor that is what I know so far.
I learned how to do it in blender last night, you set it up like you would with the background image and such with the mesh, then sequence editor > add movie > spacebar > add scene > click top then bottom, or vice versa(move then scene) > add > alpha under.
I agree with pistonfan92. It's far from perfect. It's really good of you to take the time to make this but lots of people will be following you and ending up with bad results. Keep at it though and good on you for giving it a go.
what do u think is better.. voodoo or Icarus? I was reading Icarus has some masking thing so you can isolate objects from being tracked and voodoo doesn't.. what's your opinion on them?
Hi. Just a comment on improvement. Not sure Voodoo supports masking, but that would help to get a nice solution. And to align the ground plane to the features that comes up, so imported objects wont slide. Well.. i´ll stop here..

ok I have 2 questions, how did you get blender to export quicktime, and how can you apply the 3D model without having after effects?
darkmortality 2 years ago
Export: Scene (F10) > Output: tmp > desktop> Format: jpeg > quicktime > Anime > Done!

@darkmortality just use blender's compositing nodes.
