  • Cool. I need to get me a pressure cooker like that. Are those better than the ones they sell on television that look like a crock pot?

  • Thanks for the video. How do you add chicken or beef to this soup?

  • @mrspatrickcampbell Hi there!

I pan fry or grill chicken breasts in advance and keep it in the freezer. If I'm going to add some to the soup I'll usually thaw what I need, cut it into pieces and drop it into the pressure cooker with the raw veggies. Mrs Cricket doesn't eat beef so that's not something that we put into our soup.

  • I watched the video but It looks like its easier for me to just come over to your house for some...

  • Love the video, but please don't run the water when you're peeling vegetables.

  • @slabandibar I was actually scrubbing the veggies with a plastic brillo pad. I needed water to do it. Besides I paid good for the water I used.

Tthe more water I use, the less of it there will be for the developers who want to turn my beautiful paradise into a concrete jungle. So actually I'm saving the environment from development by scrubbing my veggies with the water running. LOL! Have agood one.

  • what was the duration of alarm?

  • @BestZee You get the pressure cooker up to pressure and then let it cook for 6 minutes.

I've cooked it for 4 minutes before and that's not quite enough time to soften the carrots. I just made another batch of this soup the other night . I added some pieces of cooked chicken. It was so good! I had leftovers and it was even better the next day. Love this recipee!

  • Great little video. Got my pressure cooker yesterday and this was the first recipe I tried.

I used a stick mixer to pulverise it a little after cooking and just leaving some chunks. Love it. Will be one of my regulars I think. I did add one fresh tomato peeled and chopped.

  • @imagumby

Hi imagumby! I'm glad you enjoyed the soup! In fact I'm very happy that people are trying this method for making soup. The pressure cooker method is something I learned from my parents and they learned it from their parents. The flavor is unique and unforgettable IMO. Brings back nice memories. Have a great day!

  • Thanks for making this video! I'll be making a vegetarian version right now ^_^

  • @hazyhoon You're welcome! Thanks for watching it!

I made this soup/stew again the other night. It always turns out great! The second day it's even better!

  • Ready to eat and yummy! Cut fingers do add protein to the vegetable mix, no!? Anyway, nice vid, enjoyed watching and I did notice how you held the pressure cooker by the one long handle with one hand, alone. Understand that there exists a rear handle to lessen the stress on the one hand by using both hands to handle equal weight, one propped on either side of the pressure cooker. Perhaps you're a he-man and prefer to show your strength, so be it . Only an observation. Take it or leave it!

  • @TOMATNOSCE Good observation!

I have a bad lower back and In order to protect my lower disks and my quality of life, I rarely carry anything away from my body using both hands. I carry things in one hand using the weight of my other arm to counter balance the weight that I'm holding away from my body. It reduces torque on my lower spine. Walk a mile in my shoes and you would do it the same way.

I am a real he man though. That was an excellent observation! LOL!
