  • scratch that... 40 seconds

  • @MinnesotaJDM haha OMG I never noticed that! That's hilarious. =D Did they have greenscreen effects at the rally? I don't remember. If not, that's really strange. haha

  • at 44 seconds there are green people walking in the back ground

  • @MinnesotaJDM they were there for the vancouver-washington game

  • Why is everyone knocking this?? He is speaking some hard truth! And this is only a 2 minute clip! You can't criticize his rally based on 2 minutes of it. He's not talking about specific issues that everyone keeps bringing up, he's talking about the system as a whole, and how it's messed up. No matter your political beliefs, you should be able to see that.

  • We might not live in hard times, not end times, but all the people getting blown up in Afghanistan and Iraq certainly are, and honestly people who have lost their jobs probably would get cold comfort from the fact that their employment prospects will improve, but not in the foreseeable future.

And is the idiot tea party movement really the result of cable news?

I think it's the result of people being angry that our economy tanked. It was the biggest financial crisis since the depression.

  • He isn't having hard times...he is making money hand over fist.. he loves the "conflictinator" he talks about..he thrives on it.. without it he wouldn't have a job or be as rich as he is

  • Rand Paul? More like Rand Poop!

  • Rand Paul is to the left of Obama. Let's vote his career politician ass out on 911!

  • Web Bots have predicted that "election fraud" will be at an all time high, with the Nov. midterms. The cheating will be blatant but will not receive much attention. The reason is a "tipping point" will occur Nov. 8-11, 2010.The last tipping point was Sept. 11, 2001 and Web Bots predicted it,correctly,95 days before it happened. The upcoming event will be "much bigger" in terms of impact worldwide and greater than all of the "black ops" over the past 60 years, combined.Obama is in the Orient Nov 4-14

  • WHERES ALL THE BLACK PEOPLE?

  • @blenkarni On stage during the entire event?

  • Only in America can a hack comedian get a hokey TV show and become an icon to dopes everywhere.

  • @TruthAxe True, hard to believe Beck has such a big following.

  • @wingspantt Yes, that is hard to believe, tho when he had his one hit, "I'm a Loser", it did not seem that his career would last. Yet, the people behind the SImpsons made an entire episode with Beck, putting his head in a jar.

  • I like Jon Stewart but why didn't he have one of these rallies when everyone was all up in arms over the Iraq War? Funny shit, eh?

  • Rand Paul makes me sick and the racist tea party is pro-terrorist, anti-american, and far left wing fascism at its worse!

  • @TheHomelandDefender

    Idiocy run in your family?

  • @HokiesAndDawgs I have a masters degree in terrorism studies and international relations.

  • I attended the rally and had a great time, and I think Jon Stewart is one of the smartest people around today, BUT, I think he misused word "animus" in his closing statement, when he said "we can have animus and not be enemies" The dictionary defines "animus" as "intense dislike; hatred; animosity", animosity: a feeling of ill will arousing active hostility

That's pretty good description of how enemies feel about each other. In other words; with friends who have animus, who needs enemies?

  • Stewart now only defends right-wingers (Tea Party, Juan Williams, the "heartland" who love to label anyone to the left of them as "elitist anti-americans"). Stewart also loves to pretend that the Far-right (Overthrow the US gov, No taxes, Bring fascism, corporate-ownership & theocracy to USA, throw out all Non-Whites & Non-Christians) and the Far-left (End the Wars, create single-payer healthcare, investigate crimes, stop torture, real financial reform) are both showing the same level of crazy?

  • @halcyon0830

It's a tactful bridge, if you think about it.

  • @Shelbzism

I hate Stewart for his false equivalency thing he does.

Saying that the far-right is equal to the far-left.

  • @halcyon0830 Your description of both the "far right" and "far left" definitely displays your bias. Stating the untrue stereotypes of republicans in comparison to unrelated biased dem descriptions doesn't prove a point.

    The Fundamental Transformation of Obama.

    Redistributing his lies.

Now is the time to come to the aid of your country. So the typing lesson goes.

So the lesson goes, too, in reclaiming our country. More and more people are

becoming aware of the efforts from our administration to change our country from one of free enterprise and democracy to one of central planning and socialism.

Obama's comeuppance is in the offing. A little retributive justice is in order.

  • A friend of mine said the few black people he saw there mostly seemed to be dope dealers doing a roaring trade.

  • @statewithinastateuk a friend of mine said he has video of statewithinastateuk blowing goats. Funny how that "friend of mine says..." thing works isn't it?

  • How can someone dislike this ?

  • WHERE WERE ALL THE BLACK PEOPLE?

  • It's difficult to find somebody you respect and can listen to. If Churchill was here I would listen to him and think about what he had to say, he made the right choice once didn't he??. But hey, oh, I almost forgot, we can look up on the Internet wat his opinion on the Islam was. Stupid.. stupid..

  • I really want to know why everyone is so threatened by Stewart.

  • @twilightsol because when you speak the truth, people who make millions off lies, hate, & division don't like you. You're bad for business...

  • @twilightsol Because he's one of the sanest voices of our generation. He's able to support his possition and doesn't merely scream obscure ideas.

  • @twilightsol Not everyone, just Republicans.

  • @twilightsol He doesn't make fun of politicians, j he just points out how they make fun of themselves.

  • If people don't wake up these are indeed the end times .. There's no more Democrat/Republican Party, once they get into office they do as they're told. American's mean nothing to them.

  • @Josephdaz1 Youre wrong sir. There is one republican. Ron Paul. 2012. Register and vote!!!

  • @pureaggression Tim P all day!

  • Stewart middle ground? He's a bleeding liberal commie sympathizing nutcase

  • @biggrex You obviously have no clue what the word communism is and is not. Get an education.

  • @lestatdelc communism, something that works great on paper, but in the real world where dishonest people are concerned, it fails. Especially, when it is the government doing the honors.

  • @biggrex as I said, you haven't a clue then about what communism is or isn't. Anyone who claims that the Obama administration, or the democratic party, much less Jon Stewart and the cable television channel Comedy Central embraces or supports "communism" only shows how unserious and completely clueless they are abut politics.

  • @lestatdelc Right, right, mmm hmm. I'm sure that's why they passed that monstrosity healthcare bill, so they could be democratic and help grandmother's pay their health care bills, of course not, the bill has nothing to do with healthcare. It is the most comprehensive foray into overtaking and controlling people's lives that the government has ever undertaken.

  • @biggrex thanks for proving you don't know what you are talking about. The "Obamacare" bill was the GOP healthcare reform plan put forward by The Heritage Foundation (conservative think tank) in the 90s and is a national version of what Mitt Romney pushed and signed into law in MA when he was Gov. But because Democrats voted for it, it must be "socialism"... right? Google "David Frum Waterloo" and perhaps you might begin to stop fearing the big scary black socialist under your bed.

  • @lestatdelc I don't care who passed it, both parties are controlled by powers which seek to undermine the very fabric of our society.

  • @biggrex And they're doing a fine job of it too.

  • Jon Stewart (aka) Jon Liebowitz older brother Larry Liebowitz president of the New York Stock Exchange who is known for introducing faster trading programs to the system. Rally to Restore Sanity (aka) rally to tell all of you liberal sheeple to calm down, its all good. While all of my rich relatives and associates give it to you hard in the ass. These 911 activists may upset you acting like fools protesting gov't policies and contridicting your beliefs. But they got your Attention so... Boooya!

  • @halcyon0830 Someone missed the Jon Stewart rant(s) on derivatives and Wall Street.

  • & the grown up shall be Jon Stewart. & the thinker shall be Jon Stewart. & the wisdom shall come from a man named Jon Stewart. & it was written long ago that the fool among you would bring the understanding to the masses. & it was also written that the there would be people who understood, but there would be many more that would fear the light & crawl back in their caves & demand that we all go with them. Sorry Jon Stewart, the mean, ignorant, & powerful can't see. They don't have to, they rule!

  • @halcyon0830 ; Those "right" wing terrorists were individuals and not Republicans. But the left wing terrorists such as William Ayers and his fellow-terrorist wife, Bernadine Dohrn (who has spoken admiringly of the infamous Manson Family murders), are icons in Chicago’s hard-left circles, to which Obama sought entrée as a young “community organizer.” In 1995, they hosted a fundraiser that helped launch his career in Chicago politics.

  • @Salamwamat gotcha. Right-wing christian terrorists are just "individuals" and "not republicans", but any nut-ball on the left is representative of the left and Democrats. (rolls eyes)

BTW, we on the left WISH President Obama was a hard left as you paranoid loonies on the right claim he is. Hell, "Obamacare" is the GOP healthcare reform proposals that Mitt Romney and the Heritage FOundation pushed for back in the late 90s. But don;t let reality get in your way.

  • @Salamwamat Oh he just posted a whole list of groups, too. And let's not forget the Christian groups outside the U.S., like the IRA.

  • @Salamwamat Wrong!!!! It was a long time Illinois state rep who was grooming Obama for his first run for state office who set up the fundraiser a Ayers home, Until that point Obama had never met Mr. Ayers, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!!

PS a "community organizer' is a good thing, A-hole!!!!

  • “a Rally To Restore Sanity in Washington DC”? is that means that Stewart and Colbert think that Obama regime is insane? In that case I meet their actual visionary. We all should bring America to sanity and vote Republicans!

  • This man is the most influential for a reason, we need a fucking president like this, but all be get is a half assed monkey.

  • Stewart now only defends right-wingers (Tea Party, Juan Williams, the "heartland" who love to label anyone to the left of them as "elitist anti-americans"). Stewart also loves to pretend that the Far-right (Overthrow the US gov, No taxes, Bring fascism, corporate-ownership & theocracy to USA, throw out all Non-Whites & Non-Christians) and the Far-left (End the Wars, create single-payer healthcare, investigate crimes, stop torture, real financial reform) are both showing the same level of crazy??

  • Brilliant. The rally was AWESOME!!!! I hope they do another one like it.

  • I was gonna say he was a douche bag..but then.. I said.. nooo maybe not..but.... you know what... Maybe he is a douche bag!!!!!!

  • Teabaggers REFUSE to protest on Wall-Street. They REFUSE to protest against the Wars based on Lies. They REFUSE to protest the Pentagon and the 1.8 TRILLION dollars being spent EVERY YEAR on Wars, Secret Projects, Spying etc. They REFUSE to protest Oil, AIPAC, PNAC, JINSA & AEI who are controlling Whitehouse, War Industry & US Policy. They REFUSE to protest Federal Reserve. They REFUSE to do anything that Fox/GOP/RNC/Palin/Breitbart don't tell them to do. Teabaggers only spew Fox talking-points.

If someone said, "I fear Jews, Rabbis & anyone who wears Jewish clothing", or "Catholics should NEVER be near any children" they would be FIRED

Terrorists have NEVER worn Muslim clothing, why would they want to stand out??

  • 00:40 a brief pause as the audience figures out what 'animus' means

  • I'm not afraid to say it. Jon is one of current day heroes. He puts into words, thought, and comedy the thoughts I seem to have even before i know I have them. For me the rally is really a call for us to unite, not divide; only through cooperation and tolerance will we be able to build a better tomorrow.

  • note: no teleprompter

  • naming my second born son after this wonderful bitch

  • one of the best collection of soundbites i have come across. jon stewart is a real pro. may God forgive him for his part in the deception of the American people.

  • "Obama's Band Aids" Appearing nightly at an empty shopping mall near you.

  • God, why can't we just kick those arabs of our country and kill them!

  • These were smart words

  • The world needs more Jon Stewart and less Islam!

  • @HalalKafir I think you missed the point, we do need less Islam, and less Christianity, and less Buddhism, and less Judaism, and less all religions....one religion isn't the problem: they all are.

  • @liberalguy513 I hate to break it to you but all religions are NOT equal. Islam has never undergone a reformation nor been touched by the Age of Enlightenment. Over 100 Suras in the Qur'an command the persecution and killing of 'unbelievers'. Muhammed was a warlord who spread his ideology by the sword and didn't shy away from murdering prisoners, taking slaves, and sexually assaulting a 9-year old girl. Muhammed was the first Muslim terrorist and we've had 1400 years of perpetual Jihad since.

  • @HalalKafir To quote George W. Bush:

"I am driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, 'George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan'. And I did. And then God would tell me 'George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq'. And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, 'Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East'. And, by God, I'm gonna do it."

There are several verses in the Bible that condone violence, btw.

  • @HalalKafir

How many passages in the Old Testament give instructions on how to kill adulterers, gays, people who eat pork, etc.....?

  • @willgalison You are overlooking one VERY important aspect. Christianity and Judaism have gone thru the Age of Enlightenment and have otherwise been influenced by secular forces. We have the separation of church/synagogue and state. Islam is still as rabid and unreformed as back in the 7th Century and the result has been 1400 years of perpetual Jihad in an attempt to submit 'dar al-harb' to 'dar al-Islam'. The atrocities you mention happen exclusively in Islam and are often state sanctioned.

  • @liberalguy513 How many Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics or believers in the Flying Spaghetti Monster go around flying hijacked planes into buildings, act as human bombs to kill as many civilians as possible, gun down people shouting 'God is great!', decapitate prisoners on video, burn down girl schools, hang gays from cranes, stone women to death for adultery, hack off body parts for stealing, etc.? All other religions have pretty much grown up - Islam hasn't. Sadly.

  • @halcyon0830 I'd say that the fact you can post links to these stories would be proof that the media is in fact reporting on it.

  • @SupaYoda

NO USA MEDIA HAS REPORTED ON IT.

NOONE ON USA TELEVISION HAS REPORTED ON IT.

    WHY???

  • @HalalKafir I'm sure the dead in the OKC bombing take comfort that it wasn't a couple of whackos connected to the Christian militia movement who blew up their loved ones.. oh wait, it was.

Al Qaeda is to Islam what the KKK is to Christianity.

  • @lestatdelc I know you'd love to believe that but there is no knucklehead Christian militia connection to the OKC bombing. McVeigh was a confirmed Atheist and he didn't kill in the name of Atheism. What little Xian wing nut violence there has been, such as the killing of several abortion doctors, happens in the name if Islam every 5 minutes. Seeing Islam for the violent fascist Arab cult it is has nothing to do with being politically left or right leaning and everything with using common sense.

  • @HalalKafir then you haven't a clue about the connections between Mcveigh and the Christian militia movement. Even the timing of the bombing was targeted on the 2nd anniversary of the Waco (a Christian cultist group).

But even if you don't want to accept McVeigh's ties to Christian militias, then Rudolph, Griffin, Hill, Salvi, Roeder ... or numerous other christina extremists who carry out bombings, murders.

  • @lestatdelc OK, Einstein add up the people that got killed by these troglodytes and then let's compare that to how many people have been murdered for the glory of Allah even just since 9/11. Trust me, the 'religion of peace' is not gonna look good in comparison. I wish appeasers of and apologizers for Arab fascism could go spend some time in those places where Islam dominates just so you can experience first hand what it means to be an 'unbeliever' and what millions of kuffar go thru every day.

  • @HalalKafir our forces have killed over 500,000 people directly or indirectly in Iraq alone since the invasion of that country for the fraudulent rationale that they were a threat, had WMDs and were in league with Al Qaeda (thought they were sworn enemies).

But don't let facts or reality get in your way of your paranoid, fear-based ignorance and need to want to demonize that second arrest religion on the planet, with over a billion adherents.

  • @lestatdelc You are a doofus! Iraq is not a religious war - nobody is running around killing Iraqis screaming "Jesus is Lord!" or forcing people to convert to Christianity! And your other argument is even better: Islam has some 1.5 bio. followers hence it can't be some evil fucked up death cult even though we see the results of the horrors of Islam EVERY DAY! I guess, according to your logic Nazism was an OK ideology, too, since a majority of Germans seems to quite like for about 10 years.

  • @HalalKafir What tripe. Your entire argument, as well as that of the neo-conservatives who pushed the Iraq invasion (and were angling to go to war with Iran after Iraq was "secured") was predicated on the same "clash of civilizations" insanity that you are. Google Gen. Boykin who said "As a Christian I believe that there is a spiritual war that is continuous as articulated in the Bible. It is not confined to the war of terrorism."

  • @HalalKafir Someone should have told that to George W.

And, by God, I'm gonna do it." -- August 2003

  • @lestatdelc Forgot about all those Native Americans who refused to accept Christianity (and some who did) as well as the many deaths in Northern Ireland since the Catholics and Protestants started going at each other. Witch trials, Inquisitions and Crusades, the British Empire, etc depending on how far back in history you want to go. The only reason why the U.S. can't claim as many deaths is because we're fairly young as a nation in comparison to most of Europe.

  • @SupaYoda agreed. America and our culture have done a large number of good, even great things, but we have also committed atrocities, and are just as violent and prone to warfare as other nations, and the christian faith, like most major religions, has as much, if not more blood on its hands than Islam or any other major religion. Anyone claiming that Islam is a "death cult" only betray their own staggering ignorance and myopia.

  • @HalalKafir You gonna include all the deaths in Northern Ireland in that talley?

  • @SupaYoda I was talking since 2001. I'm not aware of any 'talley' in NI in the last 9 years. Otherwise if you want to go there - let's count the 3 million Hindus that were butched by Pakistani Muslims in the early 70's - a genocide nobody even talks about in the West.

  • @HalalKafir I see, so you are only talking since 2001, and point to the Kashmiri fighting in the 1970s, which BTW has been going on since the partition of India into three countries in the late 1940s, and there have been mass killings on both sides.

BTW, how many native AMericans were slaughtered in the birth and growth of America? Or does your moral exceptionalism only count genocide when it's employed in the birth of some other nation and when it is within the 20th century?

  • @lestatdelc ; The difference is that many many Muslims support Al Qaida !!!!

  • @Salamwamat no more so than the number of "christians" that support operation rescue, the Army of God, and other Christian militia groups, etc.

Al Qaueda is to Islam what the KKK is to Christianity.

  • @HalalKafir Haven't been to Northern Ireland, have we? Catholics v. Protestants = bombs everywhere.

  • More than bs. I like bs from clowns.

  • animus-1. an animating force or underlying purpose; intention. 2. a feeling of strong ill will or hatred; animosity

"We can have animus and not be enimies" ~ Jon Stewart

"We live now in hard times, not end times" ~ Jon Stewart

    Sweet!

  • @LilaDeGr8 I understood "animus" in the context that it was used but I still had to look it up to get a concrete definition.

  • @studizz (smile) I haven't heard nor used that word for quite sometime. It is fitting. I posted the meaning, to help other who may not have "got it".

  • anyone notice green people at 0:40 ?

  • @moorsalin3 there were at least 10 people in green spandex suits there

  • Is Stewart getting ready for a 2016 run at the white house? I hope so.

  • @BlackKingX I think Stewart once responded to people who said he should rubn for office. He said he would be a awful politician and that he really is just a entertainer. Though I have to say this rally really touched me.

  • @twilightsol I know he'll never actually run. But he is a pretty common-sense kind of person, something that is missing from Washington.

  • Funny, if they didn't have free performances by "stars" the crowd wouldn't have been so "big". However, good for them!! Now let's see what America really wants on November 2nd!!! Maybe now the division that has been created in this country, mainly by this administration will go away?! ; ]

  • @ladylordess The schedule of events wasn't announced prior to the rally, but good try. The folks who planned to be there several weeks in advance had no idea what to expect.

  • @SupaYoda Because the actual "stars" had not made the commitment until the last minute, of that I am aware, thanks for pointing out that detail. However, the attendees knew to expect some type of "stars" to show for the free show. I'm sure they weren't expecting your local Walmart or Wall Street Employee to perform.

  • He is going to be my write in.....

  • Hey. Didn't they say AP wasn't covering the rally...?

  • " if we exemplify every thing, we hear no teen"

  • Absolutely amazing speech. Jon Stewart is truly one of the most influential people in politics now.

  • @blackflame474747 LOL, don't tell that to joy behard on the view.

  • I watched online real time. Awesome!

  • What a wonderful job of articulating a common view which is rarely heard. Finally, someone with the gumption to stand up and be an advocate for the voiceless. Long live Jon Stewart!

Oh and Colbert was pretty good too.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh yeah. This is what journalism is about. Ironic that some of the best journalism these days comes from what started out as comedic entertainment. Thanks Jon.

  • This world would be a better place if there were more Jon Stewarts.

  • Well spoken John Stewart !!

  • "if we amplify everything, we hear nothing"

  • Soften the edges by zion cnn comedy go back to sleep sheeple, while they go to the bank.

  • Epic!!

  • @hairoftehdog This is the truly scary part, the brainwashed aren't capable of understanding. It is as if they were all told that the American Dream is dead, and that you can never earn/work for it. The NEW American Dream has been replaced with an entitlement mentality that they don't need to work for or earn, it should just BE theirs and the government is COOL and will GIVE it to you. Scary.

  • @jumpoff100

Yr so right dude, I totally don't understand the lack of courage of people who emulate Comedy Central, a company that censors its own cartoons out of fear of a bunch of jihadi madmen. So now the company props up Stewart and wants to preach at me about....what? it is an empty frightened crust of a thing, micturating on itself in the corner...biting its knuckes...you go along with Comedy Central, dude?

  • Jon Stewart is a natural born leader. Please do run 2012. Jon Stewart for president. Colbert for vice president!

I love it -the Stewart/Colbert ticket.

  • USA = Retard Land

  • I see the T-Tard trolls are in FULL FORCE! What's the matter? HILARIOUS! Just a wee bit pissed that there are a HELL of A LOT more SANE people than YOU??? I bet there was no need for Vicks today, Glenn Bekkk was crying REAL tears today!!!! LMAO

  • @dudsbalboa I saw the same episode on O'Reilly!!!

  • @dudsbalboa Fortunately you sir are wrong. As for tuesday well our political system is already broken. Having a republican house and a democratic senate cant break it anymore.

  • What about those that give racists airtime and perpetuate racism where there IS NONE !! Only to put fear into looking at solid facts, this is what people do who have no arguement against facts.

  • lol

  • Genius.

  • What he's saying is so right. I can't stand our political culture. How many people really believe what they are saying and care about the state of society as opposed to just liking to argue and belonging to a group? Very few of those who tune in to say Rush Limbaugh or Keith Olbermann each week can honestly say the former.

  • @pwlaslo

agreed. what i don't like are the labels being thrown left and right. we just argue too much. i definitely am not immune to rage and arguing with racists, but i think i learned that it's ok to just leave those situations and pursue my own mental peace.

    power to the logically sane!

  • @pwlaslo What's interesting are the various situations under which your "belonging to a group" theory have been proven. There have been environmentalists who signed a petition to ban water (dihydrogen monoxide) and Tea Partiers were convinced that it was bad that under ObamaCare vaccines were made using eggs (discarded avian embryos) as they have been for some time.

  • The best speech since I have a Dream.

  • Jon Stewart only defends right-wingers (Tea Party, Juan Williams, the "heartland" who love to label anyone to the left of them as "elitist anti-americans").
