It's funny that this video is almost 2 years old and nothing's changed or improved in Afghanistan. Either the U.S. troops and their allies are complete failures at their mission, or this was planned to be an occupation right from the start. I believe it's the latter.

Being POTUS is one very difficult task. Watching the US dead return can be very sobering as an experience. One problem is bringing troops home after they've seen and participated in warfare. WWi, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and now Afghanistan.
All have been affected by what they've seen and done in these battle scenarios and have been changed for a lifetime. Since many have been trained to kill in Iraq, the "war" in Afghanistan is the best deployment for some. Real bullets, real death.

Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan have said time and time again that they want to continue the job because if they don't, their friends will have died in vain. Being POTUS is one very difficult task. Watching the US dead return can be very sobering as an experience. One problem is bringing troops home after they've seen and participated in warfare. WWi, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and now Afghanistan.
All have been affected by what they've seen and done in these battle scenarios and have been changed for a lifetime. Since many have been trained to kill in Iraq, the "war" in Afghanistan is the best deployment for some. Real bullets, real death.

You're embroiled in a low-level civil war against the pashtun, with the idea that you're going to turn Afghanistan into a stable nation state with a strong government. The pashtun rarely recognize themselves as afghani and cross between Afghanistan and Pakinstan at will.
For every instance of "collateral damage" you get 10 new insurgents, feeding a cycle of violence.

China produces 97% of them and has been making threatening noises and imposing export tariffs and quotas.

The problem is, our presence in Afghanistan is not harming al-Qaeda's cause. Afghans are only going to get angry at us. They will see us as occupiers and want us out. So they'll join terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and try to get rid of us. It's called "blowback."
The most effective way to weaken al-Qaeda would be to get out of the Middle East entirely.

When the American people went to the voting booths, they understood - or, at least, they could've understood - that Obama doesn't and never did support leaving the Imperialist fight in Afghanistan, only Iraq. He has kept to his foreign policy promises.
There are a great number of other promises he has gone back on, though, and we do have no business in Afghanistan.

They are too blind to see that shifting troops isn't "winding down" a war, its a strategic military move. under this administration, DEA operations are increasing in Western Asia, the war in Afghanistan is now a complex war with many components. It's a war on drugs, tribal governments, and is being fought in Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. Threatening Iranians is not helping, this could easily turn into an Israel-US invasion.
