i have a customer in Melbourne ...from Zimbabwe...he is shona and his wife meta-belle...nice people...big happy bloke ..but if anybody asks him, were he comes from..tells them RHODESIA .... hates Mugabe's guts.
met another shona ex- Zimbabwean been here 25years, said she will never go back, as long as Mugabe is in power ......
have you read the book FIREFORCE..by Chris Cocks....he was a paratrooper/speical opps in the Rhodesian war..........they would drop them into trouble area"s... bloody good read..
I know a few black Zimbabweans who I consider my friends. They tell me that having lived under Mugabe they wish Ian Smith was still alive and in charge. At least the people never starved under white rule. I was a Military Policeman in Salisbury and I used to patrol the city and barracks with a black MP with the same rank as me. If we had reason to question any soldier regardless of colour, we would do it together. He was paid less, but he had a high standard of living and was quite happy.
I believe blacks in rhodesia should paid the same as whites, i believe blacks should have the same access to all benefits available to whites, however i do believe they should live separately to whites.
Terrorist only want what you have. Those words are profound. Too True. Mugabe now has it all, & like the typical kaffir he is, he doesn't give a damn about anyone else & that includes his fellow brothers & sisters. Its the black African leadership mentality, they can't see past their own comfort. Its why every single black governed country in Africa is in the sad state it is. Exception to Botswana as the blacks there nominated that the the country still be lead by whites.
The requirements laid out by Ian Smith were designed to bring a stone age people into the modern world. You can look at present day Rhodesia and see exactly why the policies were needed.
@misty50 What has rates of pay or any of your other comments got to do with the composition of the Rhodesian Army? Black soldiers made up a large proportion of the Rhodesian Army - see Rhodesian African Rifles for starters. They fought side by side with White soldiers, therefore the army was multiracial. As for pay, I can only assume that, as with all armies, pay is dependant upon rank and experience therefore their pay reflected that, but I am no expert as you seem to think you are.

The US and most white nations are controlled by Communist jews. They're agenda is white genocide over the entire planet. This is why there was no help to South Africa and Rhodesia. The jew media will not report about the 4,000+ white farmers and their families being murdered and tortured by negroes. We live in a bizarro world where the jew has made the negro into a god.
The Rhodesian Army was 80% black. There was no apartheid and the requirements to vote were simply brilliant considering the state the indigenous population was in.
Ian Smith was a great man who cared about his entire country and her peoples. Africa has seen VERY few men like that.
requirement to vote? That's not a bad idea in any nation. In our history it was used deceitfully, as many illiterate whites had the vote. As I read Great Betrayal, I see that he indeed cared about his nation and people. I read elsewhere that he encouraged his black farm workers to send their children to college. Hardly an evil man. He worried that people just coming away from tribalism needed more time to acclimate to modern society.
I told floridacracker I hope the world will soon come full circle and realize that blacks can be tyrants as well as whites. We're still at the point now where Whitey rightfully gets called down for his sins but the black tyrants get a pass. I've had black African friends from several nations who will quickly verify that black tyrants are every bit as evil...they have lived through it and escaped from it. And these are not "sellouts"; they weren't fond of colonialism either.
The odd part is the world knows blacks can be tyrants, we have an entire continent full of evidence if you give them any power they almost immediately go on a genocidal rampage against other blacks.
Ian Smith was just telling the truth. The man was right there to see it with his own eyes and did not want to let his people go where they are today after all the hard work so many people put into the place.
It is just sickening the way we snubbed them. Thank goodness for the Americans who did go.

Irrespective of the initial Rhodesian setting, the song seems rather apropos of Brevik's murders in Olso at the moment.

That's because Ian Smith wasn't a racist, communist-terrorist.

If this long dead army of ''rhodesia'' was so multi-racial how come the Black soldiers were never paid the same as the White ones ?
How come the Black soldiers weren't allowed to live in White houses, their children allowed to go to school etc with White kids ?
How come those Black soldiers weren't given same human freedoms as the White soldiers ?

This is about the end of Rhodesia, the beginning of Zimbabwe, you know when the black soldiers joined their compatriots against the whites.
In the school holidays I was at school with BLACKS in Rhodesia.
When Zimbabwe took over Blacks shared houses, schools to the point that whites were evicted to make space for them - including farms.
...and with your spouting, can you show me proof of any of these allegations? Or is it hearsay?

Can you say with any honesty that Africans in present day Rhodesia are better off than they were before the majority government?
Have they got freedom now?

@misty50 I believe you are confusing Rhodesia with South Africa.
