craig i have a question, im wanting to use a video fx lets say black and white, and all i want is one specific part of the video but when i drag the fx over it goes over the whole video how do i make it the part i want…. also how did you do the blurry face thing in your last video ? Thanks man.
ive had sony vegas for a while but never bothered to test it out because i looked at it and was like wtf do i do, you've helped me heaps and now i know the basic sto stat mucking around. thanks.
though when i went to test rendering out and went to the whole mainconceptmp4 thingy i wasnt able to custom it, would youtube accept a different format, like mpeg1 or something?
excellent tutorial!!!! You have made complex softwear easy to understand. Hopefully you are going to find time for Module two. Sony should be paying you.
@MPAG23 Sony Vegas 9 might solve your problems. The movie you downloaded is probably divx or xvid. Who knows what your camera shoots. Vegas 9 recognizes more formats. Otherwise, you might have to look into converting your files into more common formats, like mpeg2 or mpeg4. or even DV AVI.
Jsut finished watching the 6 videos for beginners and I must say that this has helped me alot to get started with Sony Vegas, if it wasn't for you it would have takes much much longer to get started. thanks!
Great tutorial, thank you for doing these. What program could I use to put my videos on a DVD. I have Vegas movie studio platinum 9 I use that one, but goes to the DVD architect 4.5 is there something else I could also use to burn my videos with. Thanks.
A very big thank you Greg, i was sooo lost and your a very good teacher, i done my own video step by step through all parts of this and it was so easy.
Thank you so much! I was lost too, and I kept putting off Sony Vegas.. and thanks to you I've started working on it, and it is not nearly as intimidating as I thought. I hope you do more modules with more complex stuff :)
On each clip there's a little box that when you hover your mouse over it, it says Event Pan Crop. Click that and you will get a dialog that will allow you to zoom. Pay attention to the buttons on the left of the dialog. They affect the way the crop square can be sized.
Thanks for the comment. I'm glad the videos are helping. I did use Cam Studio to capture. I rendered in HD and uploaded that to youtube. Some of the videos got the HD link on youtube, and some didn't. Go figure. Module 2 will be in production very soon. I just re arranged my whole basement and I'm still settling in. Stay tuned.
AMAZING!! Thanks a lot for putting your time to help us all xD
hope you upload module 2 soon. I'm really looking forward to it!
and how do you get such good quality on your videos? I mean I saw the option on Vegas, but how do you record what goes on your screen. I've tried Cam Studio, but it doesn't work that well... hope you can help.

@MPAG23 That means that Vegas doesn't recognize the video format that your file is encoded in. Is it taken with a phone?
CraigTube 1 year ago
@CraigTube
No, It's a movie i downloaded using Utorrent. But i also have the same problem with video's I recorded using my digital camera.

why does my video Skip. it worked just fine till i cut it. then it skipped ever sense. is there something i can do to fix it?
ChristieWett1 1 year ago
@ChristieWett1 I'm not sure what you mean by skip. Try to render it and see if the skipping makes it into the rendered file.

what do I do when I try to render my video for Youtube and I can't choose any templates??
errorpotato 1 year ago
@errorpotato You would have to set up your render manually, and I'm not sure if I can do much about that unless I know more about your video etc.
