  • I love how this anti-Israel video uses Martin Luther King Jr. as he was actually a supporter of Israel who said, "When people criticize Zionists, they mean Jews. You’re talking anti-Semitism."

  • GO SAIA!

  • This will be my proudest Canadian moment in my life time. To see people all over Canada and Globally to stand up, strength in numbers occupation for all of our rights. Here in Canada 2 days before Remembrance Day, all I see on the news is how they are systematically shutting down the Occupation movement. We are taught that WAR is how you get PEACE. Yet peaceful occupation cannot be tolerated. May this be our shining moment in time when the voice of many will overcome the elite !

  • GO CARLETON :'D

  • Self-important, arrogant students w too much time on their hands. Direct your anger and energy into something that can really make an impact and then you can earn the respect and seriousness you are so desperately seeking. Get a life all of you. You have no idea about the level of hard work and maturity needed to really make positive changes in the world. Grow up and stop disrespecting the world. Shame on all of you.

  • Well done! You are an inspiration. Palstine will be free and Israel will pay for the war crimes it has been committing for over 60 years in Palestine!

  • Great job guys!

  • Fuck this who the fuck are they to demand how the school invests, if they want to invest in Israel then let them fucking do it, I doubt these raghead bitches would be protesting if Carleton invested in Saudi Arabia and its crazy assed raheded backwards people.

  • So this is what the bachelor of artsies do with all their time. I wonder, what is it like to have so much free time?

When arts students graduate, will they put all the protests they've been to on their resume?

    Regards

    A science student

  • @undead105 'a science student' does that make you any better? These people are fighting for the human rights of innocent people, how in gods name is that 'a waste of time'? It's people like you that are a reason to the problems in the world. You just don't care. I am sure if you were one of the victims in Palestine you wouldn't feel this way. BTW I know many science students who are failing, they just go into the program to say that there in it. By your attitude, I am just going to assume.....

  • Israel is not a democracy it is an ethnocracy for jewish citizens and an apartheid state.

  • @biologieenzo no its not see Israelis of any ethnicity or religion can vote or stand for office. and one does not need to be Jewish to be a citizen and nor is Israel an apartheid state. apartheid is a legal term that Israel does not meet. If you really want peace in the middle east one should look at the issue from both sides not just one of them.

  • @biologieenzo thats why 25% of the population is arab, and when those arabs were asked where they prefer living they said they wouldnt object to living in Israel.

  • its funny how the only stable democracy in the middle east is the only country you criticize. Just like the UN human rights council. you apply wide criticism of the state of Israel for defending itself, while painting the Palestinians as innocent victims. While in reality both have their dark side.

also as a Carleton Student i would say you do not have the majority supporting you, the majority are mainly indifferent. with a smaller though still large opposition

  • @HoundogAlex uhmmmm....have you seen how Palestinians are treated in this so called 'democracy'?

  • @246iraqi107 Israels the only democracy in the middle east.

  • @246iraqi107 the thing is Arab Israelis are treated far better than than most people in the middle east, with far more rights. Secondly the Palestinians are not victims but active participants in the fighting, who actively support groups that target Israeli civilians and children. Don't forget the invasion of Gaza not so long ago was due to Hamas rocket attacks. and the conquest of Gaza, and the west Bank in the 6 day war was a defensive action following the build up of Egyptian, Jordanian

  • @HoundogAlex I wont object to that. Arabs living in Israel do have far more rights than those living outside the country. However, the right to vote and whatnot is just a bunch a bs. Everyone knows that the zionists control the government, the central bank, and the media. Realistically the people have no say whatsoever. Also, you really have to stop watching CNN and FOX for your news. The majority of Palestinians just want peace. The media forces everyone to believe that HAMAS rep. all pale.

  • @HoundogAlex which is just not true. And no matter who started that 2006 invasion, Isreal was not justified in its actions. They dropped bombs on innocent civilans. Their tanks ran over children who have been deprived of a childhood. Their bullets punctured innocent women who wanted nothing but peace for their families. Israel are the ones who have created a palestinian condition that fosters more and more terrorism. If you ask me, ISRAEL is the true TERRORIST.

  • @246iraqi107 you have to stop watching anti-Israeli news, my friend. the thing is Israel is not targeting civilians thats not to say that civilians do not get killed but that Israel does not directly go out and try to kill innocent people if you don't believe me look at the recant of the Goldstone report. many of the civilian casualties are used like human shields, by the Palestinian guerrilla movement. as for the children supposedly ran over by tanks, i have not heard that before from a

  • @HoundogAlex creditable news source, yet either way one particular random incident whether done malicly or not should not be used to discret the whole nation, unless of course it was directed from above or endorsed. thus the brutal murder of that Israeli family including to infants a few weeks ago can not be scare on all Palestinians just those who participated and supported it. now as for your claim that the majority of Palestinians just want peace look at the election of Hamas in Gaza it

  • @HoundogAlex is clear that is not completely true, and secondly the continued rocket attacks on Israel is really the cause of the actions if peace is the main movement of Palestinians and its government in both Gaza and the west bank why then are they not cracking down on extremists who attack Israel. you say Israeli actions in 2006 are not justified but what about Palestinian don't forget they were shooting the rockets targeting innocent people, while Israel used more strategic strikes. so

  • @HoundogAlex your argument is wrong why because your not looking at both sides you are coming from a stand point and saying Israel is a terrorist for defending itself. When really Israel was simply protecting its citizens from being targeted by terrorist firing from Gaza with either the direct or tacit support of the government. Israel has many flaws namely the continued settlements but its right to defend itself is not wrong. You have to stop just looking at and criticizing Israel.

  • Students calling for divestment at Earlham College in Richmond, IN, USA stand in solidarity with you at Carleton! Your efforts are inspiring. Good luck!

  • I am proud of you carrying on the spirit of Wisconsin, USA, internationally. We need to march, dance, sing, and speak for peace, justice and freedom......many Thanks, ko shin, Bob Hanson, 70+ revolutionary, joining you in spirit! and love!

  • Well done Carleton! You should have invited Ottawa University! But then again our President Allan Rock isn't any better! May every Zionist rot in Hell!

  • 6 Zionists didn't like this!

  • So this is what our Canadian Universities are teaching... I feel like I'm in an Islamic State.

  • @habby06 our canadian universities are teaching us human rights, freedom of thought and freedom of speech, this is preserving democracy, if the majority is anti israeli apartheid then so be it.

you and i can't beat the majority because of your islam-phobia.

proud to be a Carleton Alumni

  • @mccormickRd

There is a big difference, Zionism imposes sovereignty over everyone non-Jewish, whereas Judaism does not. Nobody wants to be under someone else's boot- do you?

  • You useful idiots might want to reconsider using King in your little propaganda videos. He opposed your views: "When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews."

  • I'm sure i could put together a similar clip of Stalin and his days of evil, cue the sappy music , throw in a couple humanitarian quotes and make him look like a hero... Although Israel acts inhumane from our perspective it must be realized that the state (which it should be recognized as) would not exist and would be runover and disintegrated by a mob of jew hating islamic fundamentalists. I say shutup and let fire be fought with fire!

  • @thebboywanabe

Do you have a problem giving back Palestinian land back to Palestinians? I would think that giving back what was taken from them and letting everyone there have EQUAL rights will resolve things. That is if everyone believes in equal rights. There may well be hate but it is because of ongoing injustices. Muslims, Jews, Christians and others all used to live peacefully before the idea of Zionism and its sovereignty issues came along.

  • This is a beautiful video. We hope someday Palestine will be free, and that we will win our fights.

  • Can any one help with identification or resemblance between the Israel-Palestine situation and the Apartheid system in South Africa?

  • Comment removed

  • @dunzerz

The Human Sciences Research Council of S. Africa released a study indicating that Israel is practicing colonialism and apartheid in Palestine .

Secondly, the test for apartheid is the 1973 UN Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid. If you compare situation with the convention, you will conclude, like Motlanthe, the Deputy President of SA, that conditions for Palestinians are "worse than conditions were for Blacks under the Apartheid regime."

  • can any one can help with identification of the song in the end ?

    thanks

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!

    YOU ARE OUR HOPE !!!

NATAN - FROM TEL AVIV, ISRAEL !!!

  • Is it any coincidence that Sinister Minister John Baird who showed up at Carleton University to denounce Israeli Apartheid Week on its opening day was also lobbied by Roseann Runte Jan.07/11 and also by Shimon Fogel (Canada Israel Committee) Dec.08/10. See lobbywatcher.ca and select John Baird. To be fair, the website doesn't indicate what the lobbying is about but associations are always interesting especially within such a close time interval.

  • I'm very proud of what you guys accomplished.

  • I researched that Dean a few years ago when she was shutting down student voices over Israel. She is a bought and paid for Zionist patsy. Google her under Images and see what comes up. She has been to Israel on one of their paid propaganda tours. She is one who keeps the Zionist agenda in Carlton University.

  • Well done! Thanks kids for getting out there.... so wonderful to see positive action over this important issue.

  • AMAZING JOB!!!! inshalah they will divest soon

  • 2:12-2:17 WE ON TV!

  • Just Awesome!!! The board of governors and company are really boxing themsleves into a corner, and it's only going to get worse. As usual, it's the grassroots initiative led by these amazing students that brings these ethical concerns into the public eye. Too bad the board of governors and poor Roseanne Runte the president didn't see the light a bit earlier and get their ethics in order. Oh well, the higher they are, the harder they'll fall. Good job everyone!!

  • I am so proud of you - all of you who have taken this courageous stand for human rights and freedom for the people of Palestine. I was one of the student activists who organized for divestment from South Africa in the 1980s at the University of Minnesota. We had a lot of success with that struggle, but back then very few people would listen to us about Palestine. The tide is changing today, thanks to all of you. Stay strong, never give up, This is our time, and this time we will win.

  • @ LearnedHand2008

    Playing the anti-Semitic card. Weak.

This campaign fights for the freedom, equality, justice, dignity & human rights for all in Israel-Palestine. How can you equate equal recognition of humanity of Palestinians to the annihilation of Jews? That is simply pathetic & a shameful misappropriation of the history of Jewish suffering. I'm sure Jewish Voices for Peace & the multiple Jewish SAIA members & students who were at the rally would disagree with your vile insinuations.

  • MLK wouldn't have shilled for people who shoot rpgs at a schoolbus and threaten to annihilate millions of Jews. "Progressive" politics has become a fashion contest.

  • @LearnedHand2008 There's a reason why the situation in Isreal HAS been called an Aparthied. Religious or not, its a shame that its happening, and like the person said before me, there are so many Jewish people out there themselves who see the wrong in this themselves. It's not about targeting the Jewish people in any way unless you have not noticed it already, that's discrimination. It's about fighting ANOTHER kind of discrimination that is going on against the the Palestinians.

  • @McCormickRd there's no such thing called University of Ramallah

    they're defending the Palestinian rights,

  • @DinaBass909 There's a reason for that, Dina. Instead of building the institutions of a modern state, the Palestinians have been manipulated by their so-called leaders into decades of pointless "resistance" and go nowhere demands like a "right of return." Carleton is far more indulgent of you people than I would ever be.

  • The Director of Communication? What ever happened to the CEO taking responsibility and stating the corporation's position? How the hell can they send the marketing guy out to state their decision? They have descended into cowardice. The marketing guy, the spin doctor, sheeeesh.

  • MUSIC? whats that song at the end?

  • Great campaign, great vid. Give us a descrip, hey. Who did the music? Big up.

  • FUCK YES!!! this is so amazing and so uplifting. makes me so hopeful for Palestine and BDS!!!!
