  • *watches vid*...*reads some comment*...well I can see the common opinion here.....NURSE. WE NEED SOME BINS FOR THOSE CRAFTS...STAT!

  • i love this lets play!

  • Good, so I'm not the only one who digs out really big stockpiles instead of using bins. :D

  • weapons traps aren't more effective with more than 2 weapons?

  • Bins! Oh my god, We needs the binnnzzzzz

  • didnt you take a bunch of lobsters? shell armour!

  • Aahh, I can't take it anymore! Please make some wooden bins for all the marble crafts!! PLEASE! ^^

  • And the FPS slowly goes dooooooooowwwwnnn... The worst thing about DF, imo.

  • Were I you, I would've put some floodgates at the point between the volcano and the moat, and at that thin wall south of the moat, so that you can empty it if anything falls into the moat that you want to recover. Also might I suggest a few watchtowers on your fort? Sure they have no practical use, but they would look cool.

  • who needs militairy if you have traps! :D i have my fortress full of traps and nothing can come in :P

  • @draakjepet But that's no fun. Unless the traps are manually triggered by dwarves to dump magma on your enemies' heads. That's always tons of Fun to build.

  • @izraqthedark I'm trying to avoid tapping into that "fun" at all costs :D, I did it for shits and gigles once... learned a few things... 1. you can't drown it, 2 it's endless, 3 no matter how good your dwarves are you can't win @_@

  • will you be showing off your fortress in a 3D viewer?

  • these seriously make my day

  • My current "mega" project is to completely seal off the edges of the map at the magma sea layer and drain it with pumps :D. I'm using a rather large water reactor. You're on the new version as well so just a note to most people: ***SPOILER***there's a magma sea at the bottom of the entire world

  • @HandOfCode you forgot the HFS beyond that ;)

  • @captnduck can you upload your world without your fortress on it? I wanna try build my own fortress on this island :D

  • @FDoKE There's a link to the play along edition on DFLP2011 01 . Or just find it on DFFD.

  • @captnduck That links to a version that already has your fortress started in that location, I think FDoKE meant to ask if you had a clean version of that world without anything built yet?

  • @hydrofenikkusu There isn't one, sorry.

  • @captnduck not a problem! Thanks anyway ;)

  • @captnduck there is region#-world_gen_param.txt file (# region number) in main DF directory. it has world history and other seeds. with this info it is possible to generate almost identical world by using advance world generation parameters.

  • Probably a little late, but you can manually add your world (region12 IIRC) by opening the region12-world_gen_param.txt file, copying the world gen entry and pasting it into Dwarf Fortress 0.31.25\data\init\world_gen.txt. Then all you need to do is design a world with advanced params, find your addition on the list and make it, and there you have it.

  • @hydrofenikkusu this is very late, but you can use the seeds of the world to regenerate the same world - and embark on the same place as him, with same history rivers etc etc.. but with a clean island.

  • Make some bins FFS

  • where did you learn to speak english so well, and do you speak it in normal day activities?

  • Your fortress is turning out very nice! Thanks again for sharing this, Cap. Duck! Always very instructive

  • Fighting dwarfs dodging into magma is going to be !fun!

  • great stuff. thanks

  • Nice!

  • I've really been enjoying this series- combined with your tutorials I'm learniing a lot about DF!
