  • How Prophetic..20yrs later and we are on the edge of such a crisis ourselves.

World reserve currency (dollar) failing more every day, threatening total economic collapse.

Racism and hatred between different races, religions, and political affiliations higher than ever.

Corporate Greed destroying the environment and trampling over the poor and middle class.

The very real threat of world Nuclear war between hostile nations.

  • This was the most hilarious ending ever!!

  • Most depressing series finale ever. This was such an amazing series though, they should bring it back.

  • @nero140892 I wish they would too. However, I'll be pleased if they at least make some sort of obscure reference to the show in the new Muppets movie, seeing as how there's an evil oil tycoon and everything ....

  • most depressing, downer series fianle ever. when i saw this as a kid, it left me pretty disturbed. which i guess was the point... but still.

  • HAHa and al lyou thought that oil spill was going to destroy the ocean, now who feels stupid. Its called Earth, it revitalizes itself

  • @hydroa18 We're not necessary for Earth, but Earth is necessary for us.

  • Depressing ending for a kids series

  • @carmelomodica To be fair, it's not a kids' series. It was, at most, a "family" series. Adults were always supposed to be the main audience.

  • What a load of crap. Who thought this was a good idea for a childrens program?

"Lets have our main character destroy the world for everyone on our show can be sentenced to a horrible death. Let's also pound a pretty worthless message about man destroying nature because we're so greedy. Yeah the kids will love it!"

  • @citizenryan Note: This is not a kid's show. Puppets =/= kids. And kids can't watch bad endings? Really? Better ban nearly all fairy tales, then.

  • @citizenryan Why is that a worthless message?

  • @HighVoltage278 Yeah, and with all the weirdness from oil companies nowadays, this show should be put back on the air. Although, maybe having BP be in charge of destroying the world (yeah, Earl went along with it, but BP ordered it) wouldn't sit well when BP royally screwed up the Gulf Coast. Still, it's amazing how well the writers of this show knew its business.

  • This was my favorite show when I was little. I didn't remember the ending. Thank you Cracked for making me cry.

  • Anvil-on-head subtle, about the environmental message, since everyone know what happened to the dinosaurs, it was inevitable one way or another.

Having your main character responsible for destroying the world is a bold way to end the series, that's for sure.

  • Earls Boss is Called B.P. Richfield i could swear i remember this B.P. Somwere ;-)

  • @Neyxx Well, BP is the name of an oil company, and the voice actor, Sherman Hemsley (sp?) has been on The Jeffersons and Amen.

  • I HATE this last episode! the other episodes were awesome =(

  • this reminds me of year 2011, corporations making big money, nature going to waste, hmm I wonder what happens in 2012.

  • @imlatinoguy If we're lucky, we'll get to have some extra episodes that call into question whether or not the Big One actually happened. :)

  • Is it bad if I'm watching this while a huge blizzard is making its way through the country?

  • @babymoondancer LOL! Yeah, there's nothing but ice all around us. Let's blame the real Sinclairs (the oil co), LOL. :P

  • What was the word Howard Handupme said..."causing the temperatures to drop ______?"

  • @RCast

    precipitously

  • I liked the show but hated the last episode. Did they have to end it this way? I guess there will be no reunion show of this!!!

  • Well, thanks for not destroying my spirit,Dinosaurs!!! I owe you one!!!

  • You know, I always really loved the series specifically because of this ending. Even when I was a kid watching it after school back when I was in first or second grade.

  • When I saw this as a kid I cried with the end. It was such a sad ending :(

  • Ouch..

  • Howard Handupme! Awesome!

  • you're hurting flipper! hahaha!

  • I remember watching this when I was little. I was so depressed after

  • @LuigiSuper64 well, technically it's implied more than anything. For contrary evidence, there's the fourth-wall breaking, which implies they're alive at the time of taping the episodes (in a modern, human-run world), and in Earl and Pearl, an announcer mentions the planet being cool, which shouldn't happen yet if the episode is supposed to predate the finale. I just consider it a finale designed to be the polar opposite of Fraggle Rock and nothing more. They all live on anyway IRL.

  • Hello

Do you think the Dinosaurs died...I mean they have a home...and there is a SUN...I don't think they actually died...

and yes in the Earl and Pearl episode some announcer in the bar says "before the planet was cool"...

so the last episodes are the Clip Shows...

  • @melesio87 Actually, it's my thought as well that the finale was part of the show (there are several times where the 4th wall is broken and they admit it's just a show). The idea that the other eps are meant to be retconned prior to the finale doesn't make sense. Some characters undergo a very visible physical alteration toward the end. They did NOT look like their final forms prior to that. And, of course, that one line in Earl and Pearl implies that the snowstorm blew over eventurally.

  • Almost 20 years later and this stuff is real.

  • @tyeman64 Yup. When BP did that first oil spill (now we're on round 2), all I could think of was this show.

  • i think this show was great. I bought all the dvd's recently. . . . Dark or not, it was a very diverse show, funny, sad and even serious, thats what makes a good show, even if it is a cartoon, or muppet type show

  • Wow, for a kids show this was dark. BTW how did he no about Flipper, dolphins weren't even around yet

  • @mikegrandal Personally, I go with the "all Muppets and most Creatures are just actors and are fully aware they are filming in the present day" thing. This wasn't a kid's show, it was a "family" show that was really designed to entertain adults. In other episodes they break the fourth wall, including commercial bumpers for the show at other times of the day. The dinosaur cast are basically dinosaur actors pretending this show. It's basically the exact opposite of Fraggle Rock in theme.

  • @mikegrandal how did they know on the ozone? How did they have the ability to love money and use phones....it is a tv sitcom....they can break the fourth wall bro

  • Man I hate that the series had too end this way, I almost cried when baby sinclair asked his daddy what was going to happen to them and earl didnt want him to be scared of dying, but some how I think the baby kinda knew what he ment but wasnt sure cauz he was scared of what the answer might be, I dont blame Earl if that were my child I and I had to look him in the eyes I wouldnt do that to him either, I think I will miss baby Sinclair the most out of this series

  • @MLK010 You know, the bizarre thing, something that a paper could be written about assuredly, is that Dinosaurs is a show where death is mocked and treated as completely expected on a daily basis -- but then everyone gets depressed about this. Huh? You can shrug off your kid getting eaten by a Swamp Monster but not getting frozen by a blizzard? You can engage in a parental fight to the death ... but this time you're sad? It's a really fascinating psychological concept.

  • @imjessietr29 guess so I mean they had to end the series because of this episode, because and the fact that it might be disturbing to younger viewers.....but still hate it had to end this way this was a good show I dont care what anyone else says

  • @MLK010 Yes, it was excellent.

  • All that money won't do Richfield much good when the planet is frozen solid!

  • @nicklebackfan LOL, well, I guess he could ration it out and use it for kindling. :)

  • @nicklebackfan good job captin obvious :p

  • @princessamellia LOL ....

  • It's sad but at least the Sinclair family will have perished together.

I imagine Mr Richfield will die in quite another way though.Sad and lonely amongst his money pile, that he mistakenly thought could save him.

But I think some people forget that the Dinosaurs verse has an afterlife,as seen in one of the episodes. So it's really not that sad after all when you realize that they will all be together again forever once they died.

  • @gtw1983 Yeah, at least they have an afterlife. One wonders what Richfield's "Not So Nice" room would look like, though. And the weird thing is, I'm really more upset about Richfield not even mentioning the daughter he obsessed over than I am him just being greedy -- and one wonders how he got all that money anyway, as he doesn't run Wesayso. He's just a foreman for one project.

  • I can see Richfields 'bad place' being the same as the one Ethyl experienced.Namely being stuck in a room full of Earl Sinclairs for eternity...Lol.He seems to hate Earl a good bit than he does most other people.

And I know what you mean about his loose ends.I think it would have been a better ending to have had him humbly admit he was wrong for once. Then he abandons his money to go spend his remaining time with his mom and daughter.

But the way he turned out I had no remorse for him at all.

  • if there was ever a last godzilla film it would end with all human race gone. cause when you think about this show has to do with the same effects and sorta speech that godzilla films mention in fact they always mention something that us humans have done to nature. like in final wars do you really think godzilla wanted to let go his anger after all the pain and agony we put on him. think of this way when he got mutated by the atom bomb lagos blew up too. that was his home

  • i agree with mental maladies us humans are technically the smartest beings on the planet....well when you think about are we smart at all really with the enivormental destruction, the warfare, every human being wants the world to be better but in my opoion our wrold will never be any better. just look at the godzilla films for example. there is no happy ending really.

  • I can still remember this episode as a child, it made me cry. To this day actually seeing this ending still makes me sad, but it is in those final moments when Howard Handupme says "Goodnight" (looks down) "....Goodbye!" That moment makes me want to cry!

  • You know i have a feeling that this might happen to us

  • Learning of this ending...I think this feeling...is what people mean when they say their childhood is destroyed.

Even hideous porn of childhood programme and game characters and such didn't make me feel this way. This...it's...terrible.

  • @MentalMaladies Yeah, it's certainly bone-chilling. (no pun intended)

However, I think part of the reason a lot of people can't stand it is that we as humans are uncomfortable with finality, be it personal loss, death, extinction ... whatever. We WANT the happy ending because sad endings suck. However, sometimes in life ... there just IS no happy ending. And if one counts death, then everyone eventually gets a sad ending. It's important to ensure the plot has more ups than downs, then.

  • @imjessietr29 Quite. I agree entirely.

  • This is bone chilling.

  • And then they all die.

    The end.

  • BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

  • @pucpimp LOL, I know, right? They should re-air Dinosaurs JUST to capitalize on a joke gifted to us from Baby Jesus. :P I mean, who knew a simple TV show would predict that BP might actually destroy the world? LOL.

  • A wonderful episode showing what we as human beings could very well bring upon ourselves.

  • R.I.P dinosaurs, this epic show will be missed.

  • Its pretty interesting that this episode warns of environmental catastrophy while at the same time it becomes an indictment of science being able to fix everything AND..most importantly...a metaphor for the tragedy of the commons.

  • Glad this is NOTHING like the BP disaster!

    Oh, wait...

  • @thethirdchimpanzee ROFLMAO! I was thinking the EXACT same thing! :D

  • @thethirdchimpanzee what is the bp disaster?

  • @Beany695 O_O Well, uh ... BP is an oil company that slacked off in the safety department and now the Gulf of Mexico below the US is drenched in oil. Numerous wildlife in danger and countless jobs destroyed ... we should all rename these morons Wesayso.

  • something like this would have been nightmare fuel for me as a kid

  • That's inconvenient and time-consuming!

    lol

  • ...Wait, Dinosaurs ends with all the characters dying a slow, painful death? BUT NOT LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS?

  • @ExclusiveCheese As a kid I couldn't help thinking about how the family would have to see the others going down one-by-one (Ethel or Baby going first) or hopefully in their sleep.

  • I've never seen this show before. But I heard on Cracked about this episode. ...I'm really scared.

  • @ExclusiveCheese Which article of theirs was that?

  • I thought this show was about past. but its about future. or present.

  • ....My god.....I had no idea the show ended like that. That's so chilling. I've never seen a campy sitcom go out like this.

  • WTF this is so sad. My childhood is ruined.

  • WTF this is so sad. My childhood is ruined.

  • @alfredofilms To quote Ethyl, "But did you learn something?" :)

  • THANKS, DADDY.

  • wow lol i remeember seeing bits ad pieces of this show when i was little i cant remember much from it i do remember getting the dinosaur toys from mcdonalds or bk i forget which it was but wow sad that they all had to die =(

  • Well even though I like how this has an awesome moral lesson, was this some sort of screw you to disney?

  • @RockyBalboa211 I dunno. They weren't really averse to mocking Disney, especially with the theme park episode. As I understand it, this was always going to be the ending, even in the planning stages.

On the other hand, the 4th wall breaking (characteristic of Muppetdom) suggests this was just a show, and the "real" Sinclairs are living here and now.

  • I didn't even watch this show and I feel bad :(

  • You know, for kids!

  • @Neonman78 LOL. On the other hand, no one ever said it was. Sesame Street was for kids. Dinosaurs was for adults. :D

  • @imjessietr29: Agree, I mean even the simpsons, which is more of an adult show, said that this "dinosaur" show captured them more than any other show did..

  • @RockyBalboa211 LOL, yeah ... I remember when they started flinging jabs at each other.

Except Dinosaurs knew when to die. :P

  • Cries....my childhood is ruined....I remember the episode but I din't realize they died!!! :(

  • @malbruja Do what I do ... tell yourself the "comic book rule": If you don't see them die and there's no body, they ain't dead yet. :)

  • I remember when i was a kid... but i tought it had some more episodes....... so this was the end....

A deal with the devil i might say, that DinoBoss living his capitalist dream at the cost of the end of the world..... this serie brang a leson to life, a real picture of society and a sad and unfortenatly possible end to us all......

  • @envagelium It did technically have more episodes. It's unclear whether they are meant to predate the finale or the finale was just one of those "message" episodes. The last episode IIRC is Earl and Pearl.

  • @imjessietr29

Actually, it isn't unclear. This one was produced last, and was intended as the series finale, but the show was canned with seven episodes still waiting to air. ABC aired this one last and left the other six that came before it to air later in syndication, so that the series would have a proper ending... One that was probably pure nightmare fuel for the kids watching it. I was 14, and even I was shocked by it.

  • Subtle, this episode ain't. Necessary? Absolutely.

  • @8x13Wolf LOL ... yeah. The end of Fraggle Rock wasn't exactly subtle either. :)

  • this isn't depressing at all....

i mean it's such a good way to end a series.

    O.o

  • brings back so many memories

  • Its kind of an eye opener, Dinosaurs were on the earth for millions of years. Humans have only been dominant life on earth for a few thousand. Who's to say we couldn't all go extinct?

  • @StrongGlad999 If we live just a few centuries longer then we'll hopefully have advanced enough space travel to colonize the galaxy. By then we shouldn't be able to be wiped out by anything but a strong and focused outside force or a massive messup on humanity's part.

  • @StrongGlad999 cuz human life can adapt to any enviroment?...

  • yea this is season 4

  • guess we had to see it coming what with that countdown on the very first episode and all. interestingly bold path they took making this episode, dark, yet ultimately fitting

  • @seagullman87 Sad thing is you come to like the Sinclairs and it's sad that they have to go like this.

  • If we at least saw the boss get his comeuppance, then that would provide us with some slight happiness; the greedy dinosaur dies without spending a single buck.

  • Doesn't that mean he died in his own greed? All those piles of money didn't save him. I feel sorrier for Wendy, his daughter. He said he loved her and was overprotective of her ... and now she's gonna die because her father's stupid and greedy. Actually, this episode raises a lot of questions about how various other characters dealt with it? Did Monica die of starvation when the trees died? Will the Scavengers survive because they scavenge?

  • I guess thats up to debate. Though the logical and only conclusion is that they all died.

Even though technically some episodes did air after this, you can say they all take place before "Changing Nature".

  • @amandanepo92 Good point.

  • 10, 9, 8, 7, 2, 4, 12, 9, 9, 9, 9, 0!!!!

  • @BionicLunchbox IT'S A CODE

  • @chronofantasy5 LOL ... we should go all LOST-style and obsess over it. :D

  • @chronofantasy5 dude do you know the show where the mouse are in the toy store and they come to play once the people leave?

  • @l3lah You wouldn't be thinking of Today's Special, would you?

  • 2:41 "Well, there goes breakfast"

LMAO, I love this show. I used to watch it all the time. What a sad, but fitting ending.

  • If this is the last episode how is the grandma there? I thought she died a long time ago?

  • She was scheduled to die at age 72 per dinosaur tradition. However, Robbie convinced her to buck tradition. Then, she choked on some potato chips and went to the Afterlife, but the angel noted she was not yet scheduled to die. So, she's been close at least a couple of times, but she never truly died.

  • thanks for this video...although its understandable that the entire episode wouldn't be put up, this version rather shows all of the parts in the episode worth seeing...

  • This is moving. :(

  • Its a brilliant way of showing what even WE could do to the Planet if we're not careful.

  • yeah it is :' (

  • lol @ the baby when everyone is counting down...someone need to teach him how to count, lol

  • Agreed i watched him say it over and over lmFAO !!!! HE IS SOOOOO FUNNY

  • this is nothing like the other episodes, this is sad

  • PLEASE PUT THE ALL ESPISODE!!!

  • I would ... but if people bothered reading the comments section ... I've made it clear I will not. I don't want to get into trouble with youtube. Should you need assistance getting the DVDs, I'll help. That is all. PLEASE, PEOPLE ... STOP REQUESTING FULL EPS ... YOU WON'T GET THEM FROM ME! :(

  • Sorry I didn't know

  • Can you upload the entire episode? you know without skipping any of the parts

  • I've already said it, but I'll say it again: No. People put whole eps up and they disappear ... That will not happen to me.

  • is the whole episode out there?

  • "Dinosaurs" has been compared to "The Simpsons"; I'm surprised Earl's stupidity didn't find himself lynched by an angry mob for leading to their extinction, just how Homer's stupidity for causing Springfield's quarantine nearly got himself lynched in "The Simpsons Movie".

  • Well, by that point, everybody was probably used to Earl's "solutions". This was also the guy who dumbed down TV, nearly destroyed a paradise, etc. On the other hand, they really believed the ash/snow would lead to rain. This ep left out a lot of questions: What about Monica the herbivore? What about humans? Did Wendy Richfield blame her father? IMHO, this should have taken at least an hour.

  • @imjessietr29 At times the citizens don't seem all that bright so I can see it. Those questions are ones I would've liked to have seen answered as well. I like to think Roy tried to get to Monica so they could die together.

  • @YaoiHuntressEarth Awww ... so romantic! Like Jin and Sun. :)

  • I love the bit at 3:40 - 4:42, just as the Greedy Profiteer gets all his Money, its completely USELESS :-D that should serve as a lesson to any Greedy idiots out there who don't think before they Act.

  • @Jal8919536 It is too cold and snowy to make it.

  • Oh, alright. :D I'm just going to post the ending, though ... not the whole ep.

  • You know, tact can be very helpful in getting your way. I mean, it's even described as "abridged". I was going to post the ending ... Now I think I'll wait.

  • Please ignore the rude people- me and Seraphaw did ask first and we did ask nicely!

  • Please please please post the ending of this episode! I've been looking for it for years!

  • Earl gives a long monologue about messing up the Earth and the Sinclair family assure Baby they will be together no matter what. The only reason I didn't include it is because I felt it was A. depressing and B. unnecessary.

  • Please post it sir.

  • No matter if it's depressing- please post it!

  • LOL ... I'll work on that this weekend or something.

  • Depressing...yes....Unneccessary?...I wouldn't say that...

  • what the hell is the point posting this episode if you arent going to include the ending you nitwit.......the ending is the best part.....you prolly dont even have it.....what a fraud
