@amerisoldier It is important to note that verses such as those in Genesis 17:21 and Genesis 21:21 do not exclude Ishmael, they just merely concentrate on Isaac (pbuh) since he'd already done the same to Ishmael (pbuh) before the birth of Isaac (pbuh). If one says "I love my children", then says "I love my younger son," that does not mean that he doesn't love is elder son.

The Above verse shows that Ishmael (pbuh) was his son till the day Abraham (pbuh) died. Also, the status of Hagar has no affect on the inheritance of Ishmael (pbut) according to the law.

Well, I would like to add my two cents to this discussion. IMHO, what you saw was Jewish man leaving what appeared to be a place of worship, or a business. That was the doorway to the left. @salkas47...so, if you want to misquote something-please use your own "bible" because nobody reads that and no one will know the difference. G-d called Himself the G-d of Abraham, Isaac AND Jacob. Here is the reason: Only ONE of Abraham's son received the "special" blessing & that was Isaac. Only one of Isaac's sons received that same blessing but ALL 12 of Jacobs sons received the blessing. G-d didn't need to go further. On the other hand, G-d never called Himself the G-d of Ishmael, so

Yes, G-d did give Ishmael a blessing but G-d did not give Ishmael His (G-d's) chosen people. If you read a few verses before what you quoted, you will see that G-d doesn't even reference Ishmael as Abraham's son. G-d calls Ishmael "the boy." On the other hand, He (G-d) did call Isaac Abraham's son. The only thing you quoted was prophecy that G-d promised the Jewish people.

If the New Testament were written by Christians, who were trying to take something away from the Jews, why didn't they reference themselves more? Why does it say Jesus was the King of the Jews, if he was really "their" king? The truth is, the Jews are G-d's chosen people; in the Torah, Tanakh, the Br't Chadesha and even still today. @Truthisjudiasm...You do realize that Jews wrote the New Testament, right? The whole reason TANAKH and Torah were quoted in those books was because they were Jewish and were talking to Jews. No one else knew G-d's Word, so they would not have understood the context that was being quoted to them and a waste of time. Christianity wasn't even mentioned until well into the book of Acts. As for "translation," something is always lost there but the magnificent thing is it didn't lose it's meaning.

Consider Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not INVENT Al-Islam. He was a messenger of Allah(swt). And the message given him to share with the people of his day was/is the same teachings shared by all Prophets before him. So, no one should not be surprised to learn the descendants of the Abrahamic faiths share so many similarities - culture: language, food, history, etc. The western Christian is the only odd ball in the bunch because they adopted religious practices and beliefs...and not CULTURE.

Exdous 3:14, God called Himself the "I AM". Jesus received worship several times, never rebuking them for that- Matthew 8:2, John 9:35-39, Matthew 14:33. But as we know, only God can receive worship. God is 1, yes, read Genesis1:26, 3:22, 11:7; Proverbs 30:4; Isaiah 6:8; 48:16. Juat a few things to ponder

if you look closely the man praying is wearing a traditional afghan turban--its hanging tail can be seen as he leans forward. this is probably flushing NY in the heart of the orthodox community there is also an afghan population living and even owning stores there. its possible the man was a muslim afghan worker...and many afghan pashtuns look indistinguishable from jews.

Well, I would like to add my two cents to this discussion. IMHO, what you saw was Jewish man leaving what appeared to be a place of worship, or a business. That was the doorway to the left. To the right, I believe what you saw was a sesperate location, where it appeared a Muslim individual was praying. The Muslim person seems to have his own business at that location, or perhaps he is an employee of the Jewish business, and is taking the time out to pray. Stop looking for what's not there.
