matthewandsteven, this song was actually written by Bruce in the early 70's referring to the decay of New Jersey. When the 9/11 Tribute Concert was created, it seemed so fitting to have a boy from the State of New York singing such a fitting song. It's kind of eery how this song fit to the tragic events of 9/11 isn't it? Any thoughts my fellow Springsteen fans???
