I can get behind Tancredo on a lot of things, but, his support for the disasters we are involved in over in the Middle East is a deal breaker. I find that the Republirats are great on some issues, but the glaring insanity they have on other issues is something I cannot stomach. We can waste tons of money and lives over in 6th worlds craphole, BUT, we cannot even secure our own borders....that is beyond pathetic.

If the D.A. held mega evidence from the case, don't you think the defense attorneys would also know this? This would be grounds for a new trial. You mention that the D.A. is a friend of the Bush family. With Bush's popularity at an all time low, this would hurt the D.A. not help him. Why aren't these agents out on appeal if this conviction is so wrong? This trial occurred in the United States not some 3rd. world dictatorship. Why would everyone conspire to convict these agents?

I was heavily biased toward innocent before the Senate hearing. After hearing all the evidence and testimonies, I would have voted for guilty too. There is no political pressure on me. If anything, I would want an innocent verdict so my faith in law enforecement would not be lost. I want to believe that law enforcement is just and true. This is not the case. Law enforcement has criminals too. Law enforcement must follow the law and their training. These border patrol agents are guilty.

A Judge will not force a juror to make a decision he or she does not want. There are many hung juries. Often there is just one person that hangs the jury. If 3 jurors did not want to convict, the other 9 were pursuaded by the evidence to vote for guilty. The evidence pursuaded the remaining 3 to vote guilty, not political pressures. I read and heard the evidence as presented by the Senate hearings. The Senators asked the Prosecutor very detailed and pointed questions.

Ramos had a trial and was represented by counsel. If this case is so outlandish then how come the jurors didn't see it? Why wasn't he acquited? Do you know how hard it is to convince 12 jurors to vote for guilty? It was 12 Americans that voted for his conviction. All they needed was just one person to vote not guilty to hang the jury. Yet this didn't happen. He must be guilty.

Do you know the smuggler Aldrete was given immunity for his testimony and that he had to concoct a story that his drug lord in Mexico would buy? Otherwise he may have been killed for losing 700 lbs of marijuana with a large $street value? Did you know he was accepted back into the drug gang because he was caught again. He was lying. These guys were railroaded for political reasons.

ThatsmyYokoono, Yes I know the smuggler was given immunity. A smuggler given immunity for his testimony will say anything to avoid prosecution. Don't you think the defense attorney pointed this out? Do you think the 12 jurors were that stupid to believe what this smuggler said? Ramos was convicted on evidence, not on what this smuggler said. Give the 12 jurors more credit than they would just believe what the smuggler was saying. What political reasons did the 12 jurors have to gain?

Yes but the jurors have to follow the judges instructions regarding weighing testimony. You know some evidence is not allowed by the judge such as the fact that this smuggler was caught again before the trial. Also the Mexican gov't and the US gov't conspired regarding this trial. The jury didn't know that. Some high up in the govt wanted this outcome. Sometimes a jury is wrong also.

The jurors knew that Aldrete was a drug smuggler. There was never any doubt about this. If the jurors knew he was caught again before the trial wouldn't have changed anything. Why would the US conspire with Mexico to convict their own border agents? All this does is make the US look bad. If there was going to be a conspiracy, it would have been to cover this whole thing up and let the agents go free. Are you saying the jurors were paid off or they were coerced into voting for guilty?

At first I thought this was a miscarriage of justice. After listening to the Senate hearings and reviewing the evidence, I agree with the jurors verdict. These agents tampered with the evidence and tried to cover up that they tried to shoot the drug smuggler in the back. Maybe that's what the drug smuggler deserved and it shouldn't be a crime but that is the law. Border agents and police have to especially follow the law. Otherwise we would have a bunce of rogue agents and police.

Back to the jurors. The Nat'l Border Patrol Council, " Three of the jurors submitted sworn affidavits alleging that they had been misled into believing that there could be no dissent in the decision of the jury and that the minority would have to accede to the will of the majority. The judge still refused to overturn the decision." They were railroaded by politics.

If 3 jurors submitted sworn affidavits like you have said, this is grounds for a mistrial. The agents would be granted a new trial especially because of the American public support for them. This has not happened. I doubt your comment is true. Please provide more information so I can check it out.

In your previous comment you said "all it takes if for one juror to vote not guilty to hang the jury". Actually you should know better. A judge wants a jury to come to a verdict to avoid having to go through a new trial. It is not easy to "Hang" a jury as you seem to indicate.

Tom Tancredo's idea of bombing Mecca is the most insane idea I have ever heard. I used to respect Tancredo for some of his conservative views, but this is just madness. I will do everything in my power to make sure he is never elected.

I like Tom Tancredo... He just doesn't have enough confidence to be the president IMO. At both debates(especially the first), a good portion of his answers just trailed off at the end, like he was already giving up. Really nice guy, and I'd vote for him if he won the primary, but I doubt he will. Hopefully Fred Thompson will put him in his cabinet. :)

I agree that Tancredo should be President, but I disagree that he lacks confidence. What you see as lack of confidence when he speaks, I see as being completely genuine without all of the rehearsed answers (ie: Rudy McRomney). He is a great candidate and I think his chances of winning the primary get better every time the American People see him speak. Im glad you support him, spread the word that there is actually a candidate that listens to and speaks for the people.
