@Mohanned40 Kenji Inafune originally wanted Zero to be Mega Man X, but the executives didn't allow it because they thought the original MegaMan players wouldn't like the different looks. Kenji didn't like that, so he created the Zero role and made him incredibley badass so the player-base would love him. The executives learned their lesson. :P

The most probable reason to why he gained so much fame and popularity was the introduction of a former villain, who then gained enough support from others to overcome his dark past. Which also leads to the ending in X5, but since there isn't anything to cover the century long sleep and what ever happened to the world during that sleep, it's basically a moment to rejoice when another of the heroes comes back to continue a fight to end a tyranny that was brought due to discord.

@13lace probable but i see the real reason is because Kieji favored Zero more then X because X was not his creation, and Zero was the original intention for the Megaman X series till capcom thought it was a dumb idea. at the time it would have been cool to do it. but the fact is Today, Zero is Not the Megaman, and all of sudden NOW Keiji wanted to change that about 5 games into the series was Very stupid since many grew up with X being the iconic Hero, and to just blow him off was dumb

@TBOGmorris1113 I can certainly see that as a standpoint, but in the end Capcom does not even care about MegaMan or related in general considering they are blaming the fans for not supporting the game MegaMan Legends 3DS and such.

As far as I'm concerned they lost a great asset when Keiji left, due to a power struggle over who would lead MegaMan into the new era.

@13lace they have screwed up Street Fighter too, they're given credit for spreading the fighting market, when any gamer with a brain knows that they almost Killed it too because they constantly over saturate the market with 10 milling version of street fighter 2. they don't wanna spend a lot of time developing a well written plot or story because that would take time and effort. why do that when they can make many fighting games that suck up no brain gamer's will buy like idiots, not thinking

Resident Evil is starting to look that way too, since they don't listen to their fans, and continue doing what they want to. When things don't work they blame the same fans that supported them.

@13lace we have made video's about it. i dont wanna say they will ultimately crash and burn. with enough sheep following them mindlessley giving them money, they could keep it up. ut eventually there strategy of dlc is gonna wear out and there gonna be cornered. they dont have a single fan anymore. just customers. IF ANYTHING in there future. they might be bought out by a bigger company, like how Eidos was bought out by Square Enix, which is why Lara Croft now has the Square logo on her titles

@supermariobroz1221 cool is a state of opinion, its not the same to everyone. a lot of ppl think Zero's cool, the same way they think Shadow the Hedgehog is cool. i like Zero too, i think he's cool. but i consider X cooler for my reasons as well as others may as well. as for X's useful items. thats debatable, look up Card Saga's Wars which is a fan made fighting game which UMVC3 should have been. see how well they utilize X's real powers.

Megaman 2 isn't that hard overall. But the parts that ARE hard are hair-ripping cuss-inducing bitchslaps. For example, Quick Man's goddamned lasers...

A general tip is to abuse the Metal Blades. They go in 8 directions, they have a HUGE ammo stock (3 blades for one unit of energy), they do more damage than the buster AND they're the weakness of literally half the bosses.
