u can get the long black sarong in the beach section of wal-mart. most groups make the things they have on their hips themselves, but u can try 2 buy them at a hula store.

once i was watchin a otea out of San Francisco and im old school hula i guess- they we doing whats called "show hula"extra sway in the hip, winking at the audience,some hip-hop steps- i walked out....lol had an auntie that used that pointer on me,so she wouldnt hesitate to use it on THEM

BTW, I also judge much more harshly when the girls aren't polynesian. But in this video, I feel my opinion was justified.

Yeah I aget a feeling from insincerity from most non-poly dancers.

Most of the non-poly girls I meet who take polynesian dance classes only take it so they can look hot in the clothing or something. I just feel they have no tie to it. You know? Like we can dance and share something in common with our ancestors.
