  • iaorana alaise good

    nana

  • Wow, I wish my school had that. I like your choreo.

  • lol nice, but it would be nicer if the background was a beach lol

  • i agree!

  • i love that sonnggg LOL

and u guys did great :)

  • good dance. Where can I buy the hip wraps you are wearing? thankyou

  • u can get the long black sarong in the beach section of wal-mart. most groups make the things they have on their hips themselves, but u can try 2 buy them at a hula store.

  • anywhere- even in albertson's(if u got one by u)

  • that's my dad singing!! =)...

  • once i was watchin a otea out of San Francisco and im old school hula i guess- they we doing whats called "show hula"extra sway in the hip, winking at the audience, some hip-hop steps- i walked out....lol had an auntie that used that pointer on me,so she wouldnt hesitate to use it on THEM

  • Needs alot of work. One of the girls up in the front wasn't bad though.

BTW, I also judge much more harshly when the girls aren't polynesian. But in this video, I feel my opinion was justified.

  • totally agree

    im poly

  • Yeah I aget a feeling from insincerity from most non-poly dancers.

Most of the non-poly girls I meet who take polynesian dance classes only take it so they can look hot in the clothing or something. I just feel they have no tie to it. You know? Like we can dance and share something in common with our ancestors.

  • gurl u aint playin

    preach on mayne

i kinda dont like it dat non-polyz dance it but hay it shows dat other cultures appreciate it n like it

  • haha thanks.

It does flatter me though. Our culture is beautiful!!

  • im sorta affendend by that becuase im not poly but I have a huge respect for the cultur and love that cultur and I just want to ask what the big deal is???

  • oh no its not a big deal.

thanks 4 respecting & loving it.

sometimes some girls think they know better than polynesian girls who live & experience it in their daily lives. We can just notice if its 4 show & 4 love. But i love when other ethnicities do a polynesian dance!

  • :L:L:L:L

  • i jus luv tahitian dancing! its so fun!

it is a really good work out too!

  • Hi, are the dancers still in New York or performing here? wish to know since I'm from the Pacific, mauruuru.Utka

  • hey Utka9, yes these girls are still around. they go to Columbia University. and if you want to connect to the Pacific community here in nyc look up an organization named "Halawai." google them!

  • lovely

  • The only one doing it right is the middle front. The rest need more practice big time. You cannot move your upper arms. Love Tipi tipi by Kapena though.

  • They're all moving their upper arms.

  • hey youre awesome && i love the song. is there anyway i can get it on mp3??

  • I have to say that the girl in the bacl left of the screen is the best and she is moving it as well as any of them better than most, she shows the most spirit.

  • wow...this was awesome!!!

  • love the song hat the this routine and dancers

  • Theres a agga Su'a version of this song. It's awesome. I like this one too.

  • what is that song called?

  • The song is "Tipi Tipi" and this version is performed by Kapena.

  • is kapena the artist of the song or the group dancing??

  • i love this song!

  • damn you guys look cold, freezing your ohure's off in NY, aue! i thank the gods for being able to dance in hawaii everyday...

  • she was the best GOOD JOB!!!

  • I'd have to say the best shaker out of all of em was

the girl with the black curly hair who looks

    more polynesian than the rest..

  • To 'FAKALAITI', I'm agreed with you. She was really workin' it!

  • Good point, beelings...

    Are the costumes Ti leaves?

    mEwMew Freak

  • There's a girl in the back that needs some work. Overall good job. You still have to keep your heels on the ground.

  • wish i could do that....

  • nice but OMG!! how 'bout go tanning before showing your neon white bodies!!

  • that's hard for us east coast transplants. you try tanning in 30 degree weather! for now, you just gonna have to wear your sunglasses when watching pale-white east coast dancers. yee haw, haha :)

  • Go Mary! :-)

  • what is the title of this song?

  • Beautiful tamure...
