@crissichan when they decided to make a serie about aya's life, the producers asked permission to her family (of course) and her mum said yes but with the condition that the character of the boy was introduced.

so in aya's real life, he didnt exist!!! this is the only thing that was changed from her diaries (which i strongly recomend you to read!!)
