1:44 through 1:59 are two different video clips...not truly whats being recorded at that time. Misleading and deceiving...sadly meaning a loss of credibility.
@blizzardx23x misleading and deceiving or not, you try holding your camera handheld and see if you get footage without shake...plus, idk where you would find a rig well built and under $1k as good as what he has going on there...you may also want the DIY route but honestly, thats just way too much time consuming for me and in my opinion...I could be using that time writing my script and shooting film...
@baviperbry86 why would you use a dslr as a video camera when you appentrly have enough money to spend a 1k on a camera rig, why not just by a dedicated camera the whole idea of dslr video is for it to be DIY with a near to professional quality and spending over a 1K on something that could be made in a long Saturday afternoon just seems completely ridiculous if you ask me. But maybe its just me that I would rather spend one afternoon away from my writing instead of spending a 1000 dollars
@vincentjanse dedicated camera? are you referring to a camcorder? One, camcorders are ONLY just starting to come out with Interchangeable Lens with 720-1080p hd quality video from 30-60fps. Before you couldnt do that and since 2005 Dslrs were the only camera's with interchangeable lens and film like qualities. 2. Camcorders are just ridiculously expensive and just not worth it right now. theyre like over 3 - 5k. plus im on the go all the time, I dont have time to make my own diy equipment......
@vincentjanse and you wont find a rig under 1k. the one you see right now is only priced at $800. Yes I do agree cheaper is better but doesnt always suit it when like I said I have no time to make my own since Im always working and on the go. I'd only be sabotaging my time and effort if I choose to put in the time to make diy equipments. for me its not practical. Plus most "good" rigs r over $2k - 3k which I think is absurdly ridiculous and those are only simple rigs too ::sigh:: smh.
@baviperbry86 I HIGHLY doubt your shooting "film"...
And I've used plenty of steadi devices...I'm almost done with my BS degree for video production..Im not just talking crap...catching continuity issues starts becoming really easy when you enjoy shooting and editing your own projects
@blizzardx23x what? I dont understand what you're saying...what do you mean you doubt I shoot film? Whether you shoot "REAL" film like with a 35mm camera or "Digital" or DSLR filming...it doesnt matter you still want your shots stable and not shaky. I dont know about you but I'm already working in the industry, but I use DSLR's and having shaky footage is "usually" not okay. now i do agree with you on the fact that it comes easy when you do it for fun but you still want it watchable.
@blizzardx23x I'm curious what camera stabilizers have you used??? I'm always open to new tech/prod. equipment :) right now, my 3 main stabilizers are my steadicam, tripod, and a slider. I'm still researching and thinking about a Rig or Dolly system. but those set ups are just expensive.
@noiseache I think the DOF difference might have to do with the ND filters that you put in the mattebox. So it makes sense that they would stop down on the "without" example
Yes and this kit is $475 for a bit of metal and plastic put together with some bike handles attached

Yes, mattebox is a necessary accessory for the camera to prevent extra light

So does it really help to have that matte box? I never knew it can actually make the picture quality look better...

I know right.. it's obvious he gives it an extra shake for the shots without the mount.. xDD
i guess it's a great product though, only way to expensive for what it can do..

My god! this unit even decreases the DOF, increases the contrast ratio and gives it a grade!!!!! 1:28
I want one just for those factors, forget the motion smoothing...
