It's obvious to see why this could not have been broadcast- it's very awkward in its presentation and some of them (the girls in particular) don't seem to be doing their job too well...
Women hostesses on game shows in the 1970s and 80s were usually there just to look good, probably why the letters and numbers ladies didn't say a word. Carol Vorderman bucked this trend :)
i not have heard of calender countdown i heard of calender news on ITV i wonder if calender countdown was first maded on ITV before channel4 was launch in Nov 1982 this must be a early version of countdown before channel4 had a series of it i just seen a early version of countdown i wonder if they changed it when channel4 launch because in 1982 it wont have been called calender count down in nov 1982 i wonder if yorkshire televison maded it first before cannel4 in 1982 from daniel clapham
Only one way to get 860:
6 + 1 = 7
7 + 25 = 32
75 – 32 = 43
5 × 4 = 20
43 × 20 = 860
Problem is, it took me much longer than 45 seconds to come up with that!

600-57=543
or
75X8-(50+7)=543

I like "mathematician" from Bradford University (my home town BTW) at 3:03, struggling to add 13 to 529.

50*(7+4)=550
(75/5)-8=7
550-7=543

@Ross22940 A more efficient way would be
75x7 = 525
525+(50-(8x4)) = 543

Sorry we don't know what you mean by this question.
countdowngoofs 2 years ago
At the very end of part three, after the programme has finished there is a brief glimpse of another programme starting. I just wondered what it was.
jeffrey44 2 years ago
Oh, ok. No sorry we don't.
