Alright man I haven't tried your way of doing this but other times when I download the firmware a folder pops up instead of that little cube thing and in the folder it has a bunch of those Hard drive signs which means it wants to download something so my question is am I doing something wrong or is the download just total crap? Well I actually downloaded the firmware iPod touch 3g (3.1.1/7c146) and I downloaded red snow 0.8 from ur link... And while browsing it says cannot read ISWP I don't know why but when I downloaded firmware for 2g by mistake it worked..... So what might be the problem? (I forgot that also the firmware I downloaded it from ur link)

Hello, I did all this last week. I installed redsnow and the 3.0 firmware for my ipod touch 2g and it gets all the way to the part saying waiting for jailbreak and never goes any further. Let me also say that before I ever tried to jailbreak my itouch I did upgrade to 3.0 software on the apple site. Anyways, it opens the 3.0 firmware, downloads everything and I hold the correct buttons as needed, the screen changes as it says something about waiting for jailbreak. then nothing happens Any ideas?

You don't save it threw iTunes all you do is search for a downloads folder in your spotlight on the top right hand corner for a whole folder where it should be located and if you have a pc just got toy our recent action and/or downloads and just drag or extract it to your desktop since it is much easier to access from there..

Ok That isn't a problem.... Just Restore the phone and make it as new then Just follow the steps all you do it back it up restore and then just use the back up file to load all your original information back into the phone.....

This is a continuation of the prior answer i gave

If you are using windows, the file might be in incorrectly stored as a zip format. Check that you can view file extentions - from windows explorer/folder click on Tools/Folder Options, click the View tab, then in the list make sure there is NO tick mark on 'Hide extentions for known filetypes'.

You should then be able to see if the firmware file you have is in a .zip or .ipsw format. Make sure you change it to .ipsw if it isn't. Close an re-open redsn0w and you should be able to see the file.

Did you download the correct software and did you place the file where it is easy to access search in you search tab a download folder for all the internet file you downloaded and place it on your desktop so you can find it and select the firmware easily
