I remember myself watching the stars in a summer night while listening this song in my mp3...and then some kind of reasoning about the life we live came to me. After "Order Of the Universe" it's (to me) the best YES' song ever
It does not surprise me in the least thet so few people even want to confront this deep song a key to true sucsses in life really I believe there is such deep meaning here they will use this song and others to teach others .
I first heard this when I was in an extremly low low eeb in my life and it opened a well of strentght that I did not know I had profond and allways real for me great line up .
i wish they would come out with a talk tour dvd. i wouldve loved to see this live...if only i wasnt 3 years old & afraid of loud music, i so wouldve been there lol
This is probably my favorite Yes album aside from the 70's stuff. Don't understand why it got panned in reviews at the time. Rabin is a beast and completely underrated.
Too bad this recording has the stigma of being a "Rabin era album" The music from this effort is as "classic Yes" as Fragile or any other from this band.
Being a drummer and 32 years of being a Yes fan, I can't get enough of this song!..."Talk" is an unsung hero in the Rock-n-Roll business and Trevor Rabin was a milestone addition to Yes. Back in the early 80's, Trevor Rabin auditioned for Asia and didn't like it. He blew them off and hooked up with Yes. Damn good move!! Don't get me wrong.. I like Asia and even saw them in concert and the only time I saw speed demon drummer Carl Palmer on the stage.
Thank you for posting this (the whole track)...this song is truly one of the greatest compositions in rock history...and like Rodney Dangerfield, it gets no respect...but I think mostly because its not heard. This song is what headphones were created for!
@lynxtovid Dude, I agree with your comment. I've been a Yes fan since 1978 and saw them that year in Madison Square Garden, N.Y. (Tormato Tour) and have been on the Yes bus ever since. Back in '94, the "Talk" album got very little recognition. But who cares....Yes musicians and Yes fans are a group of tasteful individuals. Other classic little known Yes albums from the 90's are Magnification and The Ladder. Let those retards in today's society stick with Lady Gaga!!
Definition of Epic Epicness of the Pure Awesome Beyond the Beyond Forever and Ever 1969 In Held 'Twas In I (Procol Harum) 1971 Won't Get Fooled Again (The Who) 1973 "The Remembering - High The Memory" (Yes) 1973 "Ashes Are Burning" (Renaissance) 1974 "Mother Russia" (Renaissance) 1975 "We're Not Gonna Take It/ Listening To You" ("Tommy" soundtrack) (I know I m running away with this :-) ) 1977 AWAKEN (Yes) 1994 ENDLESS DREAM!
@SilentWingsOfFreedom I guess what I was implying was I didn't much care for Yes West and prefer them with the classic lineup. As you say, to each their own.
@SilentWingsOfFreedom - Right! As much as 'Walls' makes me sick....This song is as good as it gets - Yesmagic. "callings' good.....and 'where will you be?'....good stuff.
@SilentWingsOfFreedom I have been listening to this CD for 2 months straight nearly, intermingled with The Ladder and Union. Totally knowing and understanding what they were saying..State of Play threw me for a while..but once that one sunk in and the meaning was fully encapsulated..the growth was awesome.
hey man sorry to hear about your friend but the song is awesome. i understand how music can be quite cathartic too so i think this was a great upload.
Theres ssoooo good moments in this number, but Rabin should slow down a little between the beutifull pieces:-)

Bardzo mnie boli,że po nagraniu tak pięknej płyty Trevor musiał odejść z zespołu.

IMAO beautiful song, one of my personal favourites. 44 years and they're still rocking it out!

Agreed. Could you imagine if JImmy Page would have worked out? Wow!

This song is sick though, elements of Crimson, a little ELP
sayyes1100 3 weeks ago
Man Rabin's got mad skills, but I feel he lacked the feeling that Steve Howe brought to Yes music
sayyes1100 3 weeks ago
@sayyes1100 They were completely different no question. But when Rabin joined, it wasn't even supposed to be Yes.

@YouDummy Yeah, that part made me cry so hard after I heard about my friend dying last summer. But, this song almost always cheers me up.

Holy shit, this is excellent. It's different from classic Yes, but it's got that same Yes-ish feel, the feel that I just can't get enough of.

And I´m sorry about your friend :/ good thing you had some Yes to listen to (:

This is true mastery of guitars all around. screw van Halen, we got Steve Howe and Trevor, they are BEASTS when it comes to rock.

@buzafazoo Talk is my favourite album too, and I also like Union, I go for the albums which are least popular with other fans.

Talk is becoming one of my fav Yes album of all time. So far has surpassed Tormato (from the "classics list")
I reckon soon will be up there on the top 8.

I didn't care much for "Talk" but this song alone makes it worth the price of the CD.

@SilentWingsOfFreedom "Talk" has got to be one of my favourite CDs. But, like I always say, each to their own.

@Arrivedearly Talk is a Masterpiece. And sadly, very few fans are aware of it.
