Hi I just got this tank and I got an extra 12k/ blue strip and a straight blue strip and it looks great but will this be good for coral growth or do u suggest going with three 12k/ blue thanks
I know it that zoanthids and mushrooms grow great but will the stock lighting be enough to grow light loving SPS corals like acropora or would you have to upgrade the lighting. Also to grow these corals would you have to add a small powerhead to make a strong enough current. Beautiful tanks, cant wait to get one
@middleinfield4thewin Yes, the stock lighting is enough for lower light SPS corals. If you want higher light SPS corals, simply add an additional 453nm Blue EcoPico LED strip. You can add a small power head or pump if you like.
@rrey0456 No - a betta will survive in a Freshwater aquarium, coral only survive in a saltwater aquarium. If you want a betta, the Ecopico works great - just set it up as a freshwater tank.
@AJFBABYY It depends on if you set it up as a heavily stocked coral tank or more of a community tank. A basic marine tank does not require anything else. If you want to grow more corals, the only additional items would be two additional 12K/453nm Blue LED strips and a splitter.
soo cool and such a good value. a complete 5.1 gallon reef kit for 150 bucks? As a teacher I am very tempted. Do you guys offer discounts for educators?
Amazing !!! Ike, when is the Eco Pico light arm going to be available !?!?! LOL I love Ecoxotic LEDs !!! My sustom 48" fixture has 4x 50/50 Panorama modules 4x Blue Panorama modules & 2x Panorama Retro units Best lighting I've ever used, plus a small electric bill. Win Win. Thanks, Rob W. @ManCrayon The filter has a mechanical sponge, but many hobbyists add carbon or use a Polyfilter inside.

what would a person need to create a stable saltwater aquarium on top of the stock Ecopico design?

@sk81514 Hi, the tank includes a filter system and we do not add any other supplements. We just suggest doing frequent water changes.
