Padget is definitely better for Harmony and making his solo actually fit in with other songs. K Thrasher is definitely a better shredder but shredding doesn't matter if it doesn't fit in with the rest of the music. Just my opinion.

where is the comparison. thrasher is such a god with the guitar. only reason people are saying padget is better is because bfmv has more commercial success, while thrasher is still on the rise with his band. each of his licks get sweeter and sweeter. especially if you listen to his actual solos not just the breakdowns. not taking anything away from padge though. this is also a biased opinion. well that was my two cents.

bummybum66, i have to respectfully disagree. zakk wylde and slash ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY use pentatonic scales in their playing, and stick only to mainly to their genre's of rock/metal. someone who was a tasteful and excellent player would be shawn lane as he was an extremely fast guitarist who alsso could play melodically, and his technique was impeccable. he also went from a "shred-metal" genre to blues such as stevie ray vaughan covers. i would check him out. :)

I vote Michal padge. I think that kevin had wilder solos but Mike can do just as good maybe better then kevin. But BFMV's style folows everyone gets to be just as awsome as any other person. Padge is awsome because he does 10- 20 second guiter solos Moose is awsome because he is the main beat and good drums and you might think that Jay has the easyest job being the bass but acutully doing bass and non- stop scremo.
