  • Did they forget to translate the interviews?

  • looks pretty fun to lol

  • plus adderall is Legal in america and its fucking amphetamine and dextroamphetamine WHO CARES ABOUT THAT MILD STIMULANT........war on drugs = FAIL

  • ghetto

  • no i think morning work and afternoon relaxation is good and perfectly sane. it looks wrong only to the westernized people

  • It's funny how rude, arrogant & condescending muslims who down look on jews, "westerners", bloggers, americans, blacks, brazilians, europeans, intellectuals, artists etc etc as being crack heads, & infidel fuck ups.

WHEREVER THERE ARE HUMANS THERE WILL BE DRUGS....... DUH!

  • this is their coca leaf

  • it fuck people lives up because its illegal.

  • Wow, this shit is safer than caffein yet it's banned. USA my ass.

  • and anyway, the people who do the most real harm are those who are Drunk On Power, look at wars...

a close second is people who are Drunk On Alcohol, look at bar-fights, drunken driving accidents etc..

whereas stoned people...might forget the return the rental dvd, or burn the pizza (but still eat it with gusto anyway), which is not really in the same league as far as the disruption-of-society goes, is it?

  • most of our society goes about buzzing on coffee most of the day, has a few drinks a few times a week, to "unwind", and may well take prozac or some other pharma on a daily basis, and yet a lot of us still take time to sneer at khat users whilst being to ignorant of what the stuff is,and the effects and side effects of what the west put into their system, contra the stuff that other cultures use.

    and

  • @bundangbear wikipedia actually shows you the difference in structure buddy

  • Comment removed

  • this is SHIT. think about COFFE, CIGARETTES.

    fuck off Americans,

    Leave Yemen Alone (britney ? ) !!!!!

  • The little boy seems incredibly intelligent. You'll never hear an American child vocalize so methodically.

  • Very eloquent man @6:50. Too bad he's on this stuff.

  • @CCSF1999 Too bad? It is part of their culture. Such ignorance.

  • i think pharma companies found out the main compound of klat and obvious potential for medicines specially in good ol usa where people are suckers for new drugs and to be on drugs

  • i think journeyman pictures servs interests that are more tyhe informational its not thefirst time i seen this doc channel doing this serving uk or american interests usually in 3 world areas serving these counrys interests specially when oil drugs are involved in order to make something ilegal or keep it that way or advance their agenda making one country seem evil or someone, if these people want kat let them have kat who the hellis the usa to say what they cant or annot take its obvious why

  • I miss yemen. Just watching the video makes me feel sad. Will go soon. Miss the simple life, even if at times, it might be hard. Family there are more together than in uk.

  • I do not blame the Yemeni people but I blame the Ethiopians and other Africans who bring the Qat to Yemen

  • @AlAinJinn What are youtalking about hundred diffrent types of Qat is grown in Yemen. Its got nothing to do with the Ethiopians or the other Africans.

  • I bet they hang you by the bootstraps for smokeing pot or hash. Nobodys cultivating the good ganja, whats up with that or maybe they do who knows?. This seems like their fortified Starbucks coffee on steroids..

  • so this stuff is basically an equivalent to coffee but with a little more happy motivation to it. So basically if i was born in yemen i would be using this instead of coffee...but since i live in america we can only drink coffee and alcohol and wont let anyone use any other substance for any other reason other than the country is owned by a bunch of fucktards and they think its a good idea to lock up millions of people for participating in "witchcraft".

  • Also the question needs to asked "why is Yemen being targeted?" Maybe because of the stargate?

  • better than being a culture of alcoholics which we are

  • The minds of the Yemeni people are much more poisoned by the religion of Islam than by Qat. Qat is harmless compared to Islam.

  • and american kids shoot up all kind of drugs. qat is harmless in comparison. that american bitch needs to shut the fuck up.

  • I would love to travel here, if this place was considered "safe" I bet it would become a huge tourist city.

  • The active ingredient in Qat is Cathinone, which is the SAME ingredient used in WELLBUTRIN, a common anti-depressant in Western psychiatry. THE SAME DRUG. Think about it.

  • @bundangbear I researched that tidbit and sure enough, you are correct. This doc reeks of bullshit even more than I thought. Thanks for the info.

  • @bundangbear the active ingredient in wellbutrin is Bupropion, not THE SAME DRUG. However cathinone is very similar in structure to both ephedrine other amphetamines, as well as the active ingredient in wellbutrin. think about it

  • 6:37 very picturesque

  • is QAT/GAT HAraam?

  • @DjKroniKz

    Of course haraam.

  • Qat makes them more active - which is why their economy has declined to the point of subsistence.........

  • Why not alcohol is illegal?Khat, Weed etc natural drugs are less dangerous than alcohol.F**k the drug politicy of the system.

  • @Hevvez exactly! khat and weed are the most harmless drugs, and idk why they even count them as drugs.

  • @asecamp A drug is a substance that effects the bodies normal functioning, like how caffeine increases heart rate and constricts blood cells. Although when you get into illegal drug classifications, why marijuana and shrooms are schedule 1, while cocaine and meth are #2 as a priority is just beyond me. Its like that because you cant JUST grow cocaine, or you cant JUST grow meth, so the market is held tight on that end.

  • Comment removed

  • the drugs not that baad. not even bad

  • khat is a safe herbal drug.Khat is less addictive and harmful than alcohol and tobacco.

  • Shit they look happy to me...no prohibition and all that stupid shit. All they do is work provide for their family and chew Qat....shit they are still working why the fuck to they care what they do. God Fucking America thats why we are in fucking in debt for butting in people's culture and life style sheesh!

  • @suckmycod I like your style.

  • @WarmongerWW3 Thank you my friend

  • By the way they describe its effects, it sounds a lot like caffeine. An entire culture is addicted to caffeine, it takes up land that could be used to grow food, and once you crash from caffeine, you feel lazy. Not entirely sure why caffeine hasn't demolished our culture. I am sort of thinking that Qat isn't the real problem in Yemen. Maybe there is a reason why politicians there act like it is...

  • @suckmycod sand nigger ice nigger This is not your business

I am talking with you as a man, and you are still talking like little girl

I do not know how you became an American

You have to respect the religions, you are sick person living in a developed country

  • So........they chew alot of coffee basically and people want it stopped cause it looks ugly in their mouths? Drugs??? What a no good "qat"-ass story this is .

  • This doesn't sound like a Nation on Drugs...Qat isn't what I thought...It is basically coffee right? "Parental control" is so much better in the west LOL

  • This doesn't sound like a Nation on Drugs...Qat isn't what I thought...

  • So whats so bad about ghat?

  • This document is bullshitt!!!

  • So, we guzzle coffee over here. So what if people want to work 4 hours and then go off to Qat houses where they socialize with friends all day? In our modern society, we think technology and industry has led to increased leisure time, but everyone here is always working and isolated, and for what? Why is work in and of itself a virtue? Sounds like Yemenis have a nice life to me. You know, with tight knit families, friends, community etc.

  • someone here is stupid as shit. How do you see, in this video, the religion as a problem??? those people with persecution mania need to get a life.

Those freaks who spend hours behind the computer (don't have so much to do) and just attack religion, should learn more before open their mouth. Here I see a social problem and ignorance by the people. Together they need to work on that.

  • Still better than the usual Western world urban place where several smokers are strewing the streets with cigarette butts and making potential cancer patients of themselves and others. The title is yet another usual Eurocentric view of disregarding cultural differences and downplaying the other while totally overlooking ones own follies.

  • lol, omg!! i went in my garden, and guess what? i have these trees! they aren't very big yet, but the trees came with other plants a bought, they were growing in the container. i took them out a year ago, and i planted them, because i wanted to know what they were. So, now i know. The trees are about 2 meters by now!!

  • that reporter was trying it to!!! lol

  • The highest incidents of world terrorism is made by US and Israel Gov. They want you to think that terrorism is due to muslim's whatevertheyhave-do-and-behave, because they want it all. Please get informed through better and neutral sources, e.g. see history under Link below. The population of the African Continent should be the wealthiest and most independent population all over the world, but they were enslaved, suppressed + are still persecuted!

  • People are neither getting lazy with QAT nor addict. It seems to me part of their culture. And once more western countries are going to tell what their judgement is on their habits. I am quiter sure the western countries would like very much to get access also to this plant, as they did in the past with coffee, cocoa etc. Look how US got into Afghanistan...only for Humanitarian reasons?! This behaviour is DISGUSTING, but still they keep being on truck with their NWO Agenda as long Gov is bribed!

  • whats the name of this drug please. I never seen that before o.O

  • @porro83:

The name is Qat, sometimes known as Khat.

Qat (or Khat) is a stimulant drug chewed in parts of East Africa.

It is highly addictive and can inhibit impulse control - many African militia members chew qat before their more notorious rampages.

It has also been known to lead to mental problems, including schizophrenia, paranoia and severe personality disorders.

  • @TheProphetMo thanks you for this fast answer. I was ear about this drug but i was not sure if it's that or not. the big ball on their mouth is creepy :S

  • @porro83:

    Its a pleasure.

90% of Somalians take this drug.

75% of Arabs also use this drug.

Most of them are muslims, and terrorists grow it and sell it to fund their bombing campaigns.

No wonder the highest incidents of world terrorism is due to muslims who chew this drug.

  • @TheProphetMo The highest incidents of world terrorism is made by US and Israel Gov. They want you to think that terrorism is due to muslim's whatevertheyhave-do-and-behave, because they want it all. Please get informed through better and neutral sources, see history under Google search African Empires,Slavery between 1550-1700.The population of the African Continent should be the most wealthiest+independent population all over the world, but they were enslaved, suppressed+are still persecuted!

  • @maredeserto:

    Know these people by the state of their countries;

Saudi Arabia, madhouse, Pakistan, madhouse, Sudan, madhouse, Afghanistan, madhouse, Palestine, madhouse, Somalia, madhouse, Iran, madhouse, Albania, madhouse, Chechnya, madhouse, Indonesia, madhouse, Bosnia, madhouse, Philipines, madhouse, the whole of the Middle East, madhouse.

The more Islamic these countries have become, the darker the lives of the people.

Religion of peace? No, not by a LONG way.

    Cult of death? Absolutely!

  • @TheProphetMo The chiefs of those nations may be allied with the evil, but the people are sick now to submit to them. Even there is always CIA with their numerous false flag actions+undercover activis. If you might know, CIA is since nearly one year active in the arab countries and since approx. 1 year in Pakistan. Desorders are planned through members of secret organisations(Bilderberg,Illuminati etc.) to enslave. Disinformation activities to rise the fear between people to make them weak.

  • @maredeserto:

Any man who blames others for his misfortune and puts responsibility for his life outside of his own powers, has lost the right to be called a man.

Those countries are being destroyed by islam, not by anyone or anything else.

Only a fool would think otherwise.

Islam is a dangerous, demonic fantasy that is bleeding the spirit of the people dry.

  • @TheProphetMo They are not being destroyed by Islam. They are being destroyed by poor leadership, if you care to look at Saudi Arabia where the majority of people are millionaires while only the foreigners trying to find work there are truly poor. If you ask me, protestantism is a truly disgusting practice. They constantly bash us Catholics because we honour saints and the Image of Christ, calling us idol worshippers, while all the do is horde money while our church is saving lives everywhere.

  • @thegr8pulido:

How stupid of you to equate oil money with happiness.

The fact is that 78% of Saudi people are poor - people beg in the streets and queue for water.

It is almost inpossibe for a foreigner to get a work visa, and it is all impossible for a Saudi to leave.

It is a medieval prison that treats its own people like slaves, and islam rules the country with a fist of iron.

Christianty was exactly the same 500 years ago - now its the muslims turn to delude and kill their people.

  • @maredeserto ... and another thing ... the evil organisations allies with their partners to get consesssions to build-up companies and use and abuse of persons and their rawmaterials etc...and in consequence they begin more and more loosing their power and credibility in front of their citizen. Once these bribed presidents are squeezed thorroughly, the evil organisations process further in spreading desinformation, false flag activities. Do you really think that Ghedaffi paid the mercenaries???

  • @TheProphetMo

.. and therefore manipulation (even through this title "A Nation On Drugs - Yemen") is so powerfull. And the desinformation campaigns are so successful, because people do not really care anymore. They will more and more believe, that Muslims are terrorists, only because they merely submit to their lord and not to politics, and continue to follow their junk-series and more and more decadent music videos and following concerts and sport events by abusing drugs+excesses in behaviour.

  • Do a story on four lokos in america!!!

  • What's the big deal, it's no different than that 5 hour stay awake stuff they sell all over the west.

  • It is HARAM in the Islam!! Drugs and alcohol is HARAM!

  • Western World is addicted to sugar, fast food. alcohol and soap operas. Qat is better. I hope the Western influence with its, so called values will keep away from this country.

  • i like their accent these people are kind n peaceful don't hate on them n their culture we got a far more worse culture than them

  • question: barring substances such as heroin, why is it considered bad in america to use substances to temporarily feel better or to induce trance? also, the anti-muslim sentiment is palpable in this video..

  • I bet a greater percentage of adult Americans drink alcohol or smoke weed... Who cares?????

  • they don't eat pork but they chew drug, pathetic muslim

  • muslim drug addicts.Nice,so noble and oh, that cheeck thing?SEEEXY.Wouldn't think you could make these fucks any uglier, then BAM!Here you go.

  • Qat doesn't really affect you infact it can help (keeps you working, awake, helps you revise). every other drug is worse than qat. qat is not the reason why yemen is becoming so poor, it is the lack of education. every nation is on drugs and yemen is nowhere near the worst nation on drugs.

  • Wow .. just like Jamaica ... nice.

  • This is just a natural form of American Adderall.

  • alcohol cofeee/energydrinks, painkillers....who cares.

  • All around the world, people use substances to alter their minds. This is why these goverments need stop all of their failed drug policies.

  • all i know, i wants some. i work the gaveyard shift. i don't like drinking coffee. but qat looks promising. If i get green teeth, i can buy white toothpaste.

  • why the people have ball in the mouth?

  • This world is insane. Because nobody believe in God anymore and people no longer believes in sins. Nobody believes in Hell. Everyone thinks everyone is going to heaven after they die.

Hell and Hell fires are awaiting for sinners who continues to live evil ways.

  • @TheIxtlan

Please take that shit somewhere else...jesus was jewish and your religion was made to control you. You're a pawn on the chessboard with no thoughts of your own.

  • @shroom1n I know you believe there is life after death. I know you believe there is part in you survives after physical death. Some call it soul, spirit, conciousness the ancient egyptians I believe call it Ka. No matter how much you deny existence of God, God will always be with you.

  • This video makes a lot of direct statements without even trying to provide evidence. "Stifling productivity and making a poor country even poorer": okay, that seems plausible, but how do you know? Certainly there are lots of people who use stimulants to work harder, so how does the writer/narrator know that the Qat is the root of the problem?

  • Qat is a problem in Yemen because it takes up to much farmland and the production consumes to much water. Not because the drug itself is very harmful (can cause impotence I've heard). If in the west a working class citizen goes to the pub and spends the rest of the day drinking beers and talking with his friends it would be considered quite normal. But if a Yemense does the same with Qat instead of beer it's really really bad? That is hypocrisy!

  • 7:09 so if they were to legalize QAT consumption in more areas around the world, it could technically help fix Yemen's economy.

  • Are they seriously calling QAT a problem? Half the people chewing it are busy working... I wouldn't mind some to help me get through the day.

  • have any of you been to Yemen? You don't know what the hell you are talking about...

    nuff said- NO CLUE.

  • IF YOU VOTE DISLIKE ITS PROLLY BECAUSE YOUR NOT BRAINWASHED AND SAW THAT THIS VIDEO WAS SHIT IF THE PEOPLE WANT IT SO BE IT....IF ITS MANMADE ITS BAD..... ANY WAY FU@$ WAKE UP AMERICA GET OFF YOUR ASS AND SAVE THE WORLD YET AGAIN FROM YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT FUCK YEMEN THERE COOL PEEPS IM SURE BUT WE NEED HELP AT HOME..ROME IS BURNING PAY ATTENTION ...IF AMERICANS WAKE UP IN TIME WE HAVE A CHANCE PLEASE FIND YOUR VOICE......WTF HAPPENED.. DO YOU LIKE BEING THE BIG DOG. WE NOT ANYMORE THANKS TO YALL

  • Fucking president shud ban it , its bad for people , i dont know if it is actually a drug coz it doesnt really do anything to people but its horrablee!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I think Khat is a blessing agricultural resource If 90 percent of people love it Then So Be it People Choice !

  • @lilartist10 hey man I used to chew Khat, Just like Yemenis people. It makes you an active, very stimulated and happy, and it is very good if the Exam approaches, you can cover 50 pages within an hour, and no need to revise it if you used khat.

  • well,i got why "peace process" is so pissed of..as long as u speak 'bout it when u fckin high, jews will kick all arabs' ass

  • holy sh#t

  • Self satisfied, self serving BS. I don't care to defend the Yemeni ppl or culture, but when something is titled "A Nation on Drugs" coming from our chain smoking, beer swilling, Starbucks gulping, doctor shopping, chocoholic, fast food wrapper licking, pornography obsessed, Vegas line betting, evangelical culture, (all legal drugs, don't tell me porn, religion, gambling and bad food aren't drugs) it's one Hell of a nerve to critisize anyone elses culture.

Sure would like a QAT tree of my own

  • @rutgers1961

    Well said, simple as that.

  • @rutgers1961 Negative habits are a larger category where as drugs are a sub category.Pornography addiction and gambling have their own sub categories but are not criticized equally to drugs where as drugs can affect health over time or in the case of severe drugs, ruin brain functionality.Alcoholics are in closer relation to drug abusers although alcohol is less threatening to your health and when used in moderation can be quite safe.Assuming you'd like a Qat tree, probably a drug user/supporter

  • @MuthaFukinRaver Let me address your comments in several posts. Regardless of the level of damage the habits I listed inflict, my point is that these are all legal and socially acceptable in Western culture. At the end of this 15 minute lecture on the "evils" of Qat, the conclusion is that there is no evidence that Qat is addictive or harmful. So what is the filmakers point?

My contention is we shouldn't criticise others until we examine our own societies habits. This is blatant hypocrisy.

  • @MuthaFukinRaver Concerning my drug use, I have chronic pain and have been prescribed a painkiller for years, and yeah, I like beer. I am certain Qat is less harmful that that combo. I am 50, so I don't use any illicit drugs, but did at one time, recreationally. If the individual feels that they don't have an addictive personality, I have no issues with moderate drug/alcohol use. The ugly truth is, drugs can be fun, and with a few exceptions, most outgrow it. I favor decriminalization.

  • @rutgers1961

I like you man, i really do!

  • @TH3USUALSUSPECT Hey, thanks, I do what I can.

Seeing that you live in the beautiful city of Amsterdam, I have to say that the Netherlands and it's enlightened policies are the example that should be used for decriminalization. The fact that drugs are illegal in the US has never stopped anyone from getting high. My nation and it's failed drug policies has shamelessly turned otherwise law abiding citzens into outlaws.

  • @rutgers1961 I wish there was more people like you man, described the whole western way of thinking with a one paragraph.

  • @rutgers1961 Great comment.. At least the Yemens can say they chew on something natural....

  • @rutgers1961

Condemnation of America will not solve Yemen's problems. In a time of a rapidly changing climate and an exploding population, half of the desert nation's water is used for a drug, which half of society is addicted to. Let's focus on ways to end this scourge rather than simply pointing fingers over who is supposedly morally inferior.

  • @kingjayapala Massive depopulation is required.

  • @kingjayapala I'm not condemning Western culture.I am just commenting on the hypocracy of the "oh, we are so much more enlightened in our society" tone of the doc. For example, using terms like "hideous affliction" at the onset. I think cigarettes are more of a hideous affliction. I am not trying to judge or solve problems. Would Yemen be better served using land/water/resources for crops? Most likely, but in reaching that conclusion the doc is throwning stones at our culture's glass house.

  • @rutgers1961 You realise that this is journeymanpictures? It's a News organisation, they bring news, stop crying like a bitch when they do their fucking job, little girl.

  • @Imhornydadcomeinside

Your name is offensive and disgusting but thank god at least somebody can make a sensible comment.

  • @rutgers1961 wicked comment bro! sounds like omar from four lions loool

  • Qat is a century old tradition, I don't think we should judge them or question their habits. This documentary is quite stupid in my modest pioint of view. "America's Durg Enforcement Agency says Qat is a narcotic in it's own class" - Who the hell cares what they think?

But I suggest that we could look at our countries and start to fight off cocaine, the real drug.

  • yeah because the west would never allow something like this...*ahem* FUCKING COFFEE, PEOPLE

  • yo What happened to Arab Unity!???? MOFOOSS

  • @My5ong yemen aint arabic, they are distinct, they are more somalian/ethiopian. and also they look a bit like turks. no wonder, because yemen was a turkish stronghold more than any other country in the middle east.

  • @witeNshine u idiot all the arabs originate from yemen,

  • damn, what'll happen when they get that good dope like all their neighbors???

  • This video shows you the whole aspect in a very partial way.. It's not realy like that in there! The new generation doesn't chew as much which hopefuly means that after a few decates qat can be gone! I am defenatly against qat, but shouldn't this video show the pros and cons of the whole thing? The guy didn't even go to the city! He just went to a small village so he can convince this is their life out there! That's not true..

  • Typical bigots trying to rip apart other peoples cultures.

  • man look at this and Yemenis want to join the GCC LOOL how can a nation where 70% of the population chew qat be allowed to join GCC when they will be killed carrying it?

  • its a plant apparently, like bud, making it nature, so im down with it.

  • LOL at the American chick with the board up her butt.

  • this is definitely not like every any other kind of drugs!!the qat dose not hurt your body or and other bad effects !

the only thing that it do is waking you up making you feel like super sober kind of feeling!!

also alt of medications have qat in it..it's actually very healthy!!

and also in israel where they think that every thing that is green is drug don't consider qat as drug

  • lolllllllllllllllll qat and yemeni=super power.....LMAO!!

  • @TheMrAzan loooool u idiot why u keep picking on Yemenis??

  • @YmnzDalu3as"symbolisation"? What a great example of a typical western Yemeni.

  • I thought Somalia had a Khat problem. HAHA This is taking it to another level.

  • ااه ياشعب الحكمه والإيمان القات ظيعكم لاحوله ولاقوة الا بالله

  • COFFEE???

    Anyone?

  • please be impartial and show us the back streets of USA which is the nation on drugs sweet heart : )

    thank you

  • @workergirls True. The reason why drugs are still available has become clear.

  • lol at the war comments below me.

  • You tube, seems to have allot of 20 year old very angry,"teen-age-head" types, who say fuck allot, and just curse, lacking the ability to converse, using just "words",a shame. I'm sure that there are plenty of good minds out there, that peer-pressure,has made act ,well not as they could. The site,TED,has a more educated bunch. But here is "DROP-OUT HEAVEN ".....Future Prison Celebs.

  • Lies, lies, again and again. The government is always "HELPING",Yeah, helping to stick it to you.THE NERVE,of the "White dress goat face lady"Takes, land, water produces nothing. How many people hear that, see the flag, and believe it ?All Lies,The growers make triple, what they would make otherwise.KHAT,QAT,Google it,please."It's ravaging the city".Bullsh!t,they have been doing it there since before 1200's.NOT,as strong as or as habit forming,or harmful as COFFEE.And NOWHERE near cigarettes.

  • can you smoke it? at least that'll make the yemenis less retarted

  • @mtksbctk if u wana say something good, go ahead , if not then y the fuck u still here , GET OUTA HERE RETARD

  • @mtksbctk YEMENIS PEOPLE R THE BEST ON EARTH , ONLY SOME RETARDS LIKE U MAKES IT LOOKS LIKE THAT ,

  • lol, Yemen is cool but the north is kinda crazy ,

Yemen is way way better than that stupid video

    <3 u , MISS U Yemen C:

  • @YemensHeart93 Yemen at its entirety is disgusting.

  • @SophisticatedYemeni , who the fuck is talking , y would u say stuff like that about ur own country u retard

  • @YemensHeart93 I just did, shitface.

  • lol, Yemen is cool but the north is kinda crazy ,

    <3 u , MISS U Yemen C:

  • so its like natural adderall?

  • HAHHAHA my boyfriend chews on it time to time n i never knew wat it was but he always seem fine hehe <3 him 2 death

  • Che-fest!

  • Limitless?

  • sounds like a bunch of closed minded bitches trying to pass judgement of people trying to live there lives.

nothing like goverment intervention to rape your rights away from you an take away what few pleasure are left under the ruse of safety and progress

no really the goverment loves you and it only wants the best for you (as long as you make a profit for em)

  • Qat does not even get you. It just gives you an amazing energy boost, probably 10 times more than coffee

  • @thedudefromthehood -"probably ?" means that you are not sure.So then Why make a statement that you are not sure of.The reviewer in the film says that they liken it to coffee.Makes you' peppy',you want to work.Yet the People in office say that it makes you lazy.Since when does coffee/caffine make one lazy?Drunk?give him/her coffee to wake them up.Qat is a stimulant like coffee,it will make you work not sleep. So AS USUAL the people in charge are not being truthful,WHY ? Control ?No long term ills

  • @billy1212ist I said probably because unlike you, I have a life and I will not waste my time searching for how many a cup of fuckin coffee is equal to qat. I TRIED Qat, you did not try it obviously. Qat does not play with your mind, you do not imagine stuff, your problem solving section does not shut down. It just simply gives you an energy boost. So you obviously never tried Qat if you think it makes you lazy/drunk. Don't make a statement about something you never tried.

  • @thedudefromthehood -Oh,Foolish one,I NEVER EVER IN ANY WAY SAID,"QAT, makes you lazy or drunk."Learn to read and retain the information afforded you.Read it again.Whats this Unlike you,I have a life?I NEVER SAID that you did not have one,did I ?I did not need to curse at you did I?One word "Probably",made your statement unclear, thats all.Why do all, well many of you here,on You Tube have such short fuses, and curse and rant like fools? When, you are really quite bright, and CAN speak like humans.

  • @billy1212ist Yes you did say that. You basically said that Qat's effect makes you lazy and drunk when you compared to coffee's effect, read your comment again. I said "probably" about how many fuckin coffee cups it equals, it did not ruin any statement, its clear, Qat is like coffee but stronger. • North Americans engage in Caffeine, Alcohol, Tobacco right?

I think a real problem with contemporary societies is a lack of self control - blaming addiction and consequences on the substance rather than on the attitudes of the people using it (consider how qat is less addictive than the substances that listed above). Many substances have beneficial effects in moderate doses, and I'm sure qat is one.

That doesn't absolve them of the fact that an entire population is addicted to a substance.

  • @KuritaElite That's true.
