Ok here's the deal dish or direct is a two year contract dish blows and directv rules we own all the sports hahaha all your gonna get with dish is the lame red zone look were at the ten lol lame and signal wise directv is the best look all you have to know is who's installing your system if its put in shitty its gonna work shitty Sry ppl but any satalite you put in it has to be installed correctly and FYI directv has been number one in customer service for 5 years were the best !!!

I have the Choice Extra package, which i dont remember exactly how many channels i have, something like 210 i think! well i actually watch maybe 10 channels AT MOST!.....and half of them are like i said paid programming stations, so theres nothing exept infomercials day and night! and the other 100 channels are in Spanish, or Channels from different regions that you can see whats on, but can not watch! Direct TV is in the long run a HUUUUUGE unnecasary Headache! Especially if you have any probs!

This really ended up being a rant rather than a comparison video.We switched from Direct TV to Dish Network,and Dish is a lot better.Not quite as many channels,but you get better service.I don't know about customer service,but reception is a lot better on Dish Network.With Direct TV,if it rained it was hard to get the signal back.I think that's improved a little in the past few years,but it was still annoying.On Dish we've only lost the signal completely one time,and that was because the whole

One may have one channel that another isn't contracted with here and there. But they play the same type games! My Dish receiver just died, and even though I paid $6 on top of my Dish bill each month for two years for insurance - Dish now has no record of my insurance, and wanted to charge me $200 for a new receiver! I tried everything! I even offered to fax/mail a copy of my bills to show the insurance. But, they won't agree! So, they are going to charge me $15 just to return the receiver!

Directv scammed me with "Refer a Friend" as well. My friend signed up and started getting the discounts but I didn't. I also contacted customer service and was transfered around with no resolution. I finally recieved form a letter in the mail stating that I was not going to recieve the $100.00 credit because my friend called the wrong number to sign up. Really? the wrong number? Look on the web concerning the business practices of Directv. I am no longer a customer after 10 years. Never again.

@Steam4ever You are right. They want to get your order for new service processed and not give you the chance to get the credit. They are super GREEDY! I worked at Convergys - the outsource company for Directv service - for 5 months before getting fired. It is a terrible place to work. Training is not adequate. Pay sucks. None of the CSR's really know what they are doing. Customer service is not the main focus. It's sale! Sale! Sale!

Why are they still in business. Buy a roku and get basic cable. Its a hell of a lot cheaper and you won't have to pay a corporation. Directv said they legally took action where they can debit your account for the final bill when you terminate service. Time warner cable is the best service provider in ohio with the bundle. they have unlimited long distance phone and an internet speed of up to 1mbps. and have free movie channels like amc tcm and foxmn. but their ungodly prices and shitty customer services where i live is the reason we left.

Uh, I work for them and the issue you were having would be easy to resolve. All they would have had to do is look up your grandma's account and see you referred her and issue an escalation for the credit to be applied. Very easy fix. I'm not sure who the heck you were speaking with. Dish sucks! I'm not just saying that because I work for DTV either. I hate to sound like I'm defending them, but like any other company, it just depends who you get on the phone I guess.

I love DirecTV, I went to Sams Club the other day, and they tried to sell me on it, "Oh, it can do everything Xfinitiy can!!!" I pay about $159 for a Triple Play, DVR, HD, Howard Stern, and a few other TV's. DirecTV's price to come close to my package? $140 - No Internet OR Phone, but he promises me it's better, ask if it has Howard Stern, "Oh, it should! Here, if we can fill this out" The pressure they put, and the price is not right. They lie, and they don't have Howard Stern. I lol'd at him.

as for Dish Network I know they have good customer service, but they charge you for every single thing.... wanna change package? 5 dollar fee.... wanna technician? 95 dollars or 15 with insurance.... wanna have 3 receivers? fees for additional receiver up to 17 dollars EACH.... so yeah....
