The beast that was and is not and will be - i also thought for a while it could be the vatican, but it also could be Israel.

Israel was one of the former 7 and was resurrected (and the whole world marveled) and scarlet and purple where also the garments of the high priest and Jerusalem is also sitting on 7 mountains - what do you think?

At the time when the book of revelation was written Israel "was not", while the Roman Empire was still in existence (so that does not really fit IMHO).

@LianesVideos Revelation was a vision of something to happen in the future. So the fact the Roman empire was still in power at the time of the vision. So the vision does in fact fit with the Roman empire being destroyed and then being ressurected.

While the natin of Israel was a strong and powerful nation, it was never refered to being a beast.

The beasts are always those powerful nations/empires that come against God's chosen people.

@LianesVideos Pt 2 I never said the Vatican is the beast. This is because the Catholic Church (Vatican) is the great prostitute. The 8th beast is the New Holy Roman empire.

It's important to understand the beast and the prostitute are two different entities. They are partners for most of the 1260 years mentioned. The beast supports and carries the prostitute for most of this time period. But the beast hates the prostitute in the end hours of the end days.

@LianesVideos Pt 3 The waters the prostitute rules over can not be explained with the nation of Israel. The waters, however, do fit with the Catholic Church. they even call the different regions a bishop rules over as a "see". The Pope is said to rule over the Holy See.

And it is from the waters the prostitute ruled over that we saw the New Roman Empire (the 8th beast) rise up from.

So this is the sea the beast came from.

@TrustinJC Well, is you say the beast is not the Catholic Church - i do not see that the current EU looks anything like the original Roman or New Holy Roman empire from the middle ages. The EU is a different geographical region with rather minor overlaps and is not ruled from Rome (neither catholic in nature, nor politically ruled from Rome).

I think beast in the Bible always refers to nations - sure also empires, but IMHO could be a reference to any country. - continued -

@justuslord100 The Muslim nations will join forces with the 8th beast, which is the New Roman empire. They will make up the 10 horns that fall under the rule of the beast. So much of Europe and many of the Muslim nations will come against God's chosen people. But Islam, in and of itself is neither the beast nor the prostitute. Islam is simply one of many false religions.
