  • This video is incredible.. Those are truly creative people behind this.. I'd want to live in a world like that.. Love Bjork!

  • this human (not björk) little blue thing is so.... creepy! HE TRY TO EAT HER!!!! O.O

  • I love the idea of comfort suffocating the soul. It often does. The angles of her pose as she falls from the cataract are also beautiful.

  • steroid sheep

  • That thing on her back is just... Disgusting~

  • @oeoroe hello i am edwin posse

  • @emsky2000posse no you are not....i am edwin posse

  • the 3D version of this video is astounding!

  • ummm...what? I think my brain just died of buzziness...

  • the lyrics are especially forthright in detailing this artist's confusion with the insufferable nature of "civilized" human beings.

    i agree.

  • @epiksonik I think it's important to distinguish between those who fancy themselves "civilized" and those who practice it as a process. They're two very different people. Art and science are the pinnacles of the process of civilization, and both are emergent from nature and our understanding of it. (this includes understanding ourselves, as we are integral parts of nature. Self-styled "civilized" people often forget this)

  • I kinda feel sorry for the yak and want to give it a hug. lol

  • she's so inspiring:)

  • I love it...Björk is amazzing! Congratulations

  • favourite :* <3

  • She`s so weird

  • I'm just wondering, but does Bjork produce her on music? In any case, she is amazing!

  • Primeira vez que eu vejo uma esquimó tão de perto.

  • What an artist babes!

  • na moral esse é o melhor clip que vi nos ultimos 7 anos

    viagei pra outro mundo

  • A massive amount of trance-inducing substances was used in the making of this video

  • This music video is just what I pictured. The blow horns remind me of these kind of animals, and I got a dream/nightmare of this song thinking of it haha.

  • o.O

  • Hermoso.. simplemente hermoso video, es toda una obra de arte, se merece mis respetos.

  • this video is seriously a work of art xD ive watched it over and over again and still amazes me

  • have you ever noticed that every one of bjork's music videos don't relate to the song at all, but you still watch them?

  • @razrv3lc I think this is the very ultimate exploration of the song. What is the thing that grows out of her backpack? What is wanderlust? What is it to lose your origin?

  • 4:12 BOSS BATTLE!!!

  • this music vid is going to give me nightmares lol

  • Is this the story of how Bjork came to Earth?

  • @joeseatat oh yeaaaaaah

  • I love the giant buffalo things. They remind me of the old puppets they used in kids' shows before they started doing CGI for that.

  • Nice but my face was like : O_o

  • AMAZING WOW

  • this is where people go when they get high ! this is what you see .

  • this shit kinda calmed me down.....fuck i love it its so fucken artistic and creative n stuff

  • this video is amazing stoned!

    bjork is fuckin awesome!!!

  • it seems that shes creating a dialog with her darkest parts in her personality. highly emotional and powerfull!

  • wow...

  • you call this music?!?!? I call this gas!

  • I never knew this song had a MV until today. I honestly don't understand the lyrics or the MV, but it's beautiful!

  • The music video, directed by Encyclopedia Pictura in New York City in stereoscopic 3D, involves a mixture of large scale puppeteering, live action acrobatics, miniatures, and CG. It was choreographed by Chris Elam, artistic director of Misnomer Dance, and features Brynne Billingsley and Coco Karol.

  • Her videos are all so excellent. So symbollic.

  • The thing was soothing, refreshing!!!

  • For some odd reason this video grosses me out.

  • Whatthafuck? This video is like a bad trip.

  • @CoconutGirl131 Most of her videos are like some kind of trip.

  • A genius among the living.

  • I would be scared to death to be gawked at by those buffalo....

Anyway the point is too look for nature because we've pretty much destroyed the world hence why the back page person is crying...at least someone is out looking for nature....I would definitely leave it up to Bjork...

  • Whoa.

...I still can't figure out whether or not I like this, but either way, whoa.

  • Fantastic creativity all around.

I closed my eyes to try to see if her music would be as good without the videos...

    What do you think ??

  • We need a world with more Bjorks and fewer dipshits, then it would be a nicer planet.

  • @cybervigilante I prefer only 1 Björk, because with many Björk there wouldn't be a lot of diversity. And we couldn't consider Björk original and creative anymore if there's other people like her!

  • @charlesolivierwm There can only be one Highlander!!!! ....Icelander....

  • A song AND a video full of energy...It´s beautiful. I love it :)

  • The moral of the story is ICELAND IS AMAZING!

  • this is the most amazing thing ive ever seen.... besides porn! IM serious... blew me away in a whole new way... a way thats hard to describe..... i feel like, for the first time, i gave my subconscious a wonderfully terrifying dream.... it kinda feels like my skull got F@#$%D!!!!

  • this is the most amazing thing ive ever seen.... besides porn

  • No description for that .Just ,love her .

  • she s not from this planet for real

  • the first part freak me out loll

  • i think that was the best 7:39 of my life.

  • genius

  • The Yaks give me the heebie-jeebies....

  • Gorgeous.

  • That thing that grew from her backpack is so creepy.

  • amazing as fucking amazing can be

  • She is so strange...I like it !! And her voice is so perfect !

  • Just when this video couldn't get any weirder, it does.

  • bjork 4 ever !!!!eu amo voce

  • lol she is good but sooo fucking alternative, cant get how she could get so famous..

btw. "Wanderlust" is a German word and means somethig like: want to walk/ or go on a trip

  • @Megamotte Wanderlust, colloquially( as a common term) means a passion for new places and experiances.

  • @Megamotte The German translation is "Vanderlusst".

  • i love the beats in this song, reminds me of a more upbeat version of some of the songs on "Homogenic"

  • whoa, the first part completely freaked me out. This song is so intense.

  • Man, Björk is crazy. In a good way.

  • Comment removed

  • if you wanna what is on her back, it is a bardo. the state bettween death and rebirth

  • what is that thing on her back?

  • wanderlust, wonderlustre is the new album of skunk anansie! whats the diference between this 2 words?

  • I favorited this video, but why does a list of my other favorites pop up? What the hell is it for?! Do the people who manage yt really think that's valuable to its viewers? Just one of many, many bad ideas that yt comes up with.

  • I don't know who this chick is working with but her videos are too creative to just overlook. My feeling towards her music is still somewhat distant but it's getting closer.

A number of entertainers, a few musicians, and few artists. I believe she's one of the last.

  • @BJrok here's another one! still on process though :) check my stuff if you like Björk thank you. ~R

  • i do however, believe strongly in reincarnation and the ideas that go with what

r2d2rx and kalimaganeshshivan were talking about. It's just what makes the most sense to me. Christianity is just... it just kind of makes me laugh.

  • 11 misclicks

  • I never get tired of this song *-*

  • I love it ! :)

  • @hebleedsglitter

    @causticstorm

Stop creating hate. Both of you.

  • it's cool!

  • oh my god, I just simply can have enough when is about BJORK!

  • What is that at 4:20

  • Bjork is the antithesis of what Brecht would call "culinary music." And I love it.

I love her invigorating lyrics, her innovative artistry, and unconventional style.

There is hope for the future of music and Bjork is it!

  • astonishing!!! She is brilliant!!! Luv it*^o^* Thanxoxo for posting & sharing*^o^*

  • this is my favourite song from volta

  • Funny how this video captures dream-like scene's. Escapism to dreams...... and now back to reality.

  • This video is a piece of artwork. I didn't even know the set was physically crafted- I just assumed it would be CGI effects! It makes me appreciate it even more. :-]

  • @EditorTasha It's not the set that was physically crafted. That was CGI, but the yaks, the evil double costume, Bjork's costume-those were hand-molded out of clay. And I think that the yaks were controlled by people inside them. The puppets weren't made with CGI at all. Except the giant river god at the end.

  • if you are stupid please dont coment.if you dont undrstand art,again-please do not coment.

bjork is the contemporary art in music and videos

  • This is just too bizarre... And she looks stupid in that outfit.

  • you hear that ebm sound in there!

  • The more you watch it, the more you wish you were part of that world; her world.

  • does anybody know where i can get a version without the 2 minute intro?

  • i want oneuf those fury creatures!!

  • it's so great to see a really talented female artist doing something other than stripping, screwing or obsessing over penises!

  • @frabjousness I'd like to note that in her paganpoetry vid she's topless and there's footage of a woman performing oral sex.

  • @darkinmysilence Yes, but that's still so much different than all those music videos that they show in TV. And that is Vespertine style, it has a deeper meaning.

  • just stunning..light years ahead of what most are doing visually and musically

  • me encanta bjork y a mi mama tambien.cabe hacer notar que yo tengo 30 y ella mucho mas.nos une sus melodias

  • @juankaresma Podría decir algo parecido... En mi familia lo gustan desde mi abuelo hasta yo jaja

  • i would be so scared if that really happened to me...

  • this video came on.....when i was tripping on shrooms...

  • this is the most wierd video clip ive ever seen

  • The water freaks me out

  • you know, the best music is music that hasn't been tainted by mainstream. "unpopular" artists are the best because they are raw and original not recycled lyrics and beats that we hear everyday on t.v and radio. Love You Bjork

  • I'm really glad "wanderlust" got such a special video coz it's really one of björk's best songs imo

  • The river god is of Bon and early Buddhist belief. The god is sticking out the tongue as a sign of respect. The Hindu goddess Kali did this to show respect to her husband and consort Shiva.

  • creepy but i like D:

  • @gilsonmath

Björk is an archetypal nomad, shepherding giant yaks through the Mountains. She does hydromancy to decide whether to take them down a river or not.

A second self, the Painbody Backpack, sprouts from her like a growth and then engages her in an action play which displays their relationship.

  • @sneekz07 I love this explanation more than my own. Very good knowledge and insight.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan Thank you :) x

  • So GAIL, aber wenige verstehen diese Art "KUNST"...

  • I really love this video, it trips me out.

  • she was floating on a dumbass swim bear :b

  • I like the song, but the video is phenomenal, I absolutely love the Buddhist/Bon themes and imagery in this, very spiritual and poetic, especially the scene near the end when she travels into that funnel, I wonder what that symbolizes?

  • @gatheringleaves She is giving her ego to a higher being. It basically means, in my opinion, that what you take with you in the end is yourself and who you were.

  • The Light tunnel in the end.

  • WHAT THE FUCK?

  • Loving the techno beats in the background similar to Aphex Twin's track "On".

  • I love this!!

  • this is phenominal. very inspiring. like beauty and reverence converged.

  • i love this song and video so much... ive seen it a trillion times. epic bjork! new album soooooon please. i need bjork love this summer.

  • y tristi es la musica con la necra y es todo con plastisina

  • que lindo es fantastico

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh its fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckin amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rabc2006 Ok from your shitty favs and uploads or whateva, why did you come to this vid if you don't like bjork? Stupid man very stupid

  • @rabc2006 don't worry its not as bad as Declare independence

  • What she's carrying on her back is called the Bardo, which contains the ego. This is something that we take with us through life and to the point of death. If we fail to break the Karmic cycle we take everything with us to our next reincarnation except memories of our past life, this includes our Bardo. These beliefs are past down from Hindu, Bon and Buddhist beliefs but Carl Jung has some input with archtypes and psychoanalysis.

  • Wow, you sure seem like a knowledgeable person!

  • @ambientclouds Thank you. I forgot all about this comment.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan How does one break the Karmic cycle exactly?

  • @blindingsun It's nearly impossible to do it, that's why we pass from one body to the next. The soul is eternal but each body of flesh is disposable; with each new body, the soul carries the same karma be it animal form or the highest moksha, human. At some point, in one of our human forms, we finally ask ourselves the question you asked me, "How does one break the karmic cycle?" That's why humans are separate from animals because of our ability to reason. Reasoning is the first step.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan There is no "I" carrying an "I". There is no "I" which "needs" to break free. Here is liberation, freedom and unity. Here and now.

  • @r2d2rx There is no liberation, freedom and unity in this state of existence. We are slaves to the material world with only the illusion of freedom. If that were the case then this entire planet would be a utopia without fallacy. The problem is that people want "a quick fix" to the problems at hand and they want their politicians to find solutions to everyday problems like some genie in a bottle, when they should be looking within themselves for the answers. You are optimistic, but misguided.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan Liberation lies in the everpresent moment, the Now, which is all what is.

  • @r2d2rx Liberation is only present when one surrenders to the void of non-existence and expecting nothing in return. Now is illusion and people are to stubborn to realize that. Even I'm still vulnerable to the illusion of this present state because I'm human just like anyone else. Hubris is the destructive dark side of the path.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan The surrendering to the void of non-existence always occurs in the Now, which IS the eternal, everpresent void of non-existence.

  • @r2d2rx I see your point, but if we don't realize that ALL is illusion, then surrendering means nothing. That is the point of this video and what Bjork is trying to convey, that we carry the same burdens on our backs from one life to the next, in fact we willingly do it. Did you notice at the end of the video that instead of letting her bardo go she willingly held on to it and took it with her to the next incarnation? She ends the video with the statement, "Can you see a pattern?"

  • @kalimaganeshshivan Yes it is our will, to be precise "the will of the absolute" which determines this pattern of life-forms. Mind blasting

  • @r2d2rx Exactly.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan How do you know all that? What do you believe in. I seek spirituality and have subscribed to your network.

  • @tiffcat77 I do a lot of reading. I have a vast library here in my home and I'm happy that you subscribed to my channel. I don't have all the answers but I can help you find a path that you seek. I'm Zoroastrian but I do have some Hindu/Buddhist beliefs too. I'm not a priest of any type, in fact I can be the rudest, crudest person that you'd never want to meet and I have a blood agenda against the KKK and Neo-Nazis. So think carefully before you correspond with me. Thanks again.

  • She's actually battling her lower nature, her ego, in the video. Her insatiable wanderlust is her ego's (most everyone's ego) attempt to satiate itself. She wants to know as much as possible, and 'comfort' is what happens when you become comfortable with what you know and feel you don't need to know anymore(the ego does this). She wants to know as much as possible, and appreciates the unknown as opposed to fearing it.

    I think.

  • @Itsafire222 I love this explanation too. There are some very intelligent people in this room and you're one of them.
