It's a win-win situation: They get paied by Activision so they can use their songs, and it will attract new childish fans, that aren't really fans mostly, just people who like the band for a few months and then just keep saying they like so they look "hardcore".

@ComrnanderShepard Well, Guitar Hero is canceled now lol. But I know a lot of people who played Guitar Hero to found bands they haven't listened to before and still listen to them. Maybe people between the ages of 5 and16 like the bands for a few months.. Still, a lot more people than you think still listen to bands from the game. Plus it's a good way for people who don't listen to music and only play video games to actually get into music.
