ugh geez another one. Actually when the hell did it matter who was in congress? Reaganites pursued an economic agenda and congress as usual largely rubber stamped it, nothing new there. So democrats didnt control crap, just facilitated an insane agenda as there is very little difference between the two parties.

The problem with afghanistan is what I mentioned previously combined with Reagan/Bush cabals ditching the country and the crazies after using them for terrorism.

Reagan did not end the cold war. The Soviet Union fell due to economic and political instability. They lost control of Eastern Europe and the war in Afghanistan wasted much of their national funds. Also communism is not a sustainable economic system,it was bound to fail.
