blackmore is deep purple but this version of deep purple is a bit of a cheat because joe ritchie and roger were together before in rainbow so why didnt they just call it rainbow again because without ian singing its not deep purple as deep purple is today without ritchie and jon lord its not deep purple

Ha, this was not a good night for Blackers and company. What a comedy of errors-- missed cues, JLT doesn't know the words, Ritchie falls out of tune halfway thru. I love it at 5:21 when Paicey just kinda sez "fuck this" and comes back in before Ritchie's done noodling around, like he just wants to get the damn song over with. I've loved this tune since it 1st came out, but Jeez this performance is kinda embarrassing. Oh well, the show must go on...

great Deep Purple song, masterpiece actually, Richie- there is no something else i can add for the best guitar player on the earth,. As regards Turner, as I unterstand he sang 'I surrender' or 'spotlight kid' on rainbow classical album, he is a gifed singer, but of course we love gillan as the first "Jesus", but if we are professional listeners we can not refuse that turner has an amazing voice.

As much as I love Gillan as a vocalist (he's one of my all-time favorites), with Joe in the band, we still got Ritchie. I like Steve Morse; he's a brilliant guitar player but I would much rather see Deep Purple with another singer than a Deep Purple without Ritchie.

And aguslora is right, JLT is a very good singer, but not that´s not his song. BTW Doogie White is the one who made the best job on all the other singers songs like Burn, Mistreated, Man on the Silver Mountain, Spotlight Kid, Since you´ve been gone, etc.
