She doesn't hold the final E-flat for as long as she was often known, but otherwise this is some of the most phenomenal singing by anyone, anywhere. Sutherland really set the standard for the greatest bel canto singing. Yes, when you want great insights, there is Callas and Sills; or a gorgeous voice, there is Caballe. But when you want simply the best vocalization, Sutherland is your Queen.
