  • Man,I kinda miss Eve now.Quit some time back.Had 6 accounts running at the same time when I was hooked. But I guess I lost a littlebit interest in the end.But even so,Caldari foreva:)

  • FREE SHMAK DATASH

this intro was for a game that could be run instanced dozens of times on a very simple machine.

now you need a friggin core2duo to run dualbox without lagging the hell out :/

but yeah if you haven't played it, its very cool...just dont hope for great customer service, ccp has created a very 'self serve universe'

  • 'The Caldari emerged as the strongest State among them.' <3

    FOR THE STATE!

  • @Sessan

    For the Emperor! :<

  • Message me for 21 day free trial if you sub i'll give you 250 million isk more than enough to get in a battleship

  • when i was playing the trial i started in the worst period for a trail noob to start. a huge war was going on between a bunch of powerful corps. the gallente and teh mimtar were fighting and arguing. titan fleets were coming and going. i was apart of a reseach and deveopment corp that was made up of scientists(me)miners explorers and buissness men. it was a huge time for us to turn a profit. the corp was pretty big and i was lucky to get in. I had a pretty nice medium sized vessle it was so epic

  • i haven't played the game but this intro is much more interesting than the newer one, it gets you interested in the universe's history which makes you want to be a part of it, the new trailer just says "ur a pilot... in space, so is evry1 else, have fun"

  • One of the most beautiful and well made intros I have ever seen. It's a shame you can no longer see it in the game.

  • can it be played on a MAC? to lazy to look it up lol

  • man i miss this intro. The new one is kewl and all, but this one seems to pull ya in better.

  • @sindiako yes and Linux too i think. (which mac basicly is)

  • i miss starship enterprise O_O

and this UUUUUUUHUUUUUUUUUUUU uhuhuhuu *classic theme*

  • i love the game, just wish there was some aliens, like npcs or something.not everywhere, just run in to them every once in a while.maybe.

  • this game is the perfect game for me! but when i tryed it, it was kinda hard, but what do u expect from an mmo, i need to giv it another try cuz this game looks fun as hell!

  • when u dont want to play eve alot, it is nevertheless a game for you, you can play other games meanwhile succesfully. I like that fact alot. spend time or not like you want.

  • eve is an mmo afterall, it takes alot of stubbroness and patience to play it, the game is vast and highly complex. I enjoy that.

  • is this the first eve trailer?

  • Its the first INTRO for the game, Its not a trailer

  • Ive given it a try and...well the first thing id have to say about it is that the game ui and controls are a real pain to understand...

That said the graphics and environment is amongst the best ive ever seen.

  • You use a mouse? How hard is it to understand?

  • Why is it all game intros have to have a accent?

  • well unless its from where u live its gonna have an accent :P more likely it does than doesnt

  • because unless the VO comes from exactly where you live, the whole world has an accent.

  • it's true! British just sound allot more serious to us. It's be better then having Buffalo Bill give the info or someone w/ a Boston accent (cool as that would be)

  • lol seriously, southern accent isnt good for a serious theme

british" in a genocidal conflict that would decide the fate of many"

southern"in a bloodthirsty shindig that scarred our lives, dag gum!

  • @Wearefallingup

cuz american english sucks and sounds so plain.

  • @moiriv415 That is us Americans for you, take something good then bastardize until its nearly unrecognizable.

  • Voice kind of reminds me of the narators voice in the intro to Dune II

Damn EVE looks cool... too bad i can't play or even try it out at the moment.

  • Why can't you? It's so worth it. :)

  • For me this video are FAR better than the new one that came with Apocrypha. EVE lives on its backstory... and I think a lot of players come to the game now not realizing the depth of the background of the major Empire factions etc. This video was what hooked me on EVE back in '06. Bring it back CCP :'(.

Btw if anyone is interested in a free 21 day free trial drop me a message and I'll send one to you.

  • Good intro but they are missing somthing...the Jovians as they are another race

  • No, cause the Jovians aren't playable.

    They are mainly backstory.

  • Yes i know that but they are still part of the game wether you like it or not.

  • There mods xD

  • hay! does anyone know how much a Minmitar Maelstrom battleship would cost?

  • That would be roughly 120 million ISK.

Its a Tier 3 Battleship after all.

  • @hyperforce im new to the game, about how good is that tier 3 battleship? where does it rank on the scale of most powerful ships?

  • @Trevorious2010 most powerful ships? about the middle. Assuming you are including capital ships. However if you are talking about easily obtainable ships its pretty high up, assuming you know how to fly one. A skilled pilot in a Tier 1 battleship could easily outmatch an unskilled pilot in a Tier 3 battleship. After you get the right skills, both ingame skill books and your own personal experience with the ship, it can tear anything to pieces

  • Dear Piscivorus,

Just shut up, go watch a video of a *GAME* you like and leave us be... we LIKE what EVE is offering, you dont accept it, that's ok, your opinion you made it clear... now... stop it!

Eventually, as i said before, all the stuff you don't like except the 'a)' is called HARDCORE PVP ... its a game based in PLAYER MADE UNIVERSE, that's why it rocks! Diplomacy, espionage, wars, conventions, boundaries... and SO MANY more stuff that other MMO just dont have!

    Over and out!

  • well said mate :)

  • The voice of the narrator is simply beautiful...

  • I prefer this vid to the newer one that came with Apocrypha... it lets new players in on the incredibly rich back story which the new one really misses out on. Shame they couldn't recycle most of it, and put it in a higher resolution with actual movie footage instead of stills.

    Great vid :)

  • Most epic MMO evar! CCP wins.

Watch out for teh parats, thou! Teh parats will lazor ur shipz!

  • I played this game for 5 min. it was amazing. i had no idea how to play, and i was massively overwhelmed, but i loved it. every aspect of it. the stunning graphics and storyline pushes me to learn more and go through the borring tutorials i usually skip.

  • i think once the player grasps the controls of the game and gets to know what he or she is doing they can truly admire the beauty of the game

  • Well spoken my friend! :)

  • Gallente, all the way. :-)

Gallente are Hybrid specialists and Drone-whores, where Caldari use highly sophisticated devices in warfare, and an extended use of Missiles.

Gallente are your freedom-lovers, where Caldari are your Bushido-like power-maniacs, who strive for efficiency. :)

  • Not to mention that Caldari are the only race who specialize in advanced shielding. Imo they should be the race who make due best with lasers, but I guess the Amarr get that throne. They can't have ALL of the advanced stuff I guess. =P

  • Well, I myself started as a Gallente, but quickly fell in love with Amarr ships.

Nothing beats the feel you get, when you are flying with your best friends on ventrilo, and then yell "IMMA FIRIN MAH LAZORZ!" :-D

And they are so shiny - too! =P

  • once i get a nuke-powered pc, i WILL get this...

    WoW seems like chess compared...

  • EVE>Xbox>>>>>>Shit>Dog Shit>Bullshit>WoW :)

    'Splained

  • yeah, why'd they get rid of that?

  • I miss the old intro

    ;_;

  • me too.

  • me 3

  • me4

  • me 5!

  • Comment removed

  • @SnapSaviorEtc Yeah the original intro is the best imo. Such emotion at the end when it states "Take the destiny that is rightfully yours."

  • oh... mah.... god... thats so cooll the eve game is downloadin right now its like 20 percent... lol

  • is it done now?

  • hey where did u download this video ive looked all over the place for it

  • i recorded it...

  • I don't recall there being wormholes in G-Police though.

And in EVE it were the corperations that rose to power.

Unreal does the same, as do several Science-fiction movies. Its just one of those generic stereotype starts to a story.

Thus, NO, eve's storyline does not start of as a rip of of G-police.

  • Having played this game since beta, and a part

of the strongest corporation currently active, i can

say that there is no other game that contains such

    emotions and playercontrol.

No player can even begin to understand the

magnitude of EVE-Online's universe until they

try it. A 100% playercontrolled market, spacebattles

    with over 1000 ships.

    EVE-Online rules.

  • i know exactly what u mean, when someone asks me what is eve like i say 'i cant explain it, u need to play it to understand' put simply; Eve is not a game, its an experiance :)

  • @Dreez76 Absolutely right. It's what separates Eve Online from the rest of the MMOs. Everything is controlled by the player. Recessions can occur, market cornering is possible, market speculation is the norm, and the greatest commodity in Eve are the ships that are endlessly built and sold on the market by the players. Even diplomacy and the best military strategies are employed.

  • this game looks insain *pulls out credit card and pays subscription* lol

  • EVE DEFENCE FORCE FOR THE WIN XD

Find me ingame on Gemberkoekje or Gemberslaafje ;)

  • there's also some news about the next expansion, they're going to upgrade the classic client too. check it out in their website

  • how is this game I've always wonder what this game would be like.

  • there's a 2-week free trial if you'd like to try the game.

you should be aware that it requires a hellish beast of a computer in order to play EVE as well as a VERY fast internet connection.

  • i'm running a way out of date comp and it runs it just fine, as long as you use the "classic" graphics installer it takes like a 200 dollar computer.

as for the game, it's quite amazing... though i will say 2 weeks isn't alot of time to get a feel for the game, it's not like most mmo's, as there's no "max level" thus you're CONSTANTLY growing your char, learning how to use new things, fly new ships, and become much better of a player.

  • O.O not really my old bucket can run the premium installation fluently, but if you got a really bad machine there is still the classic installation.

  • There's a 21 day trial if you download it through Steam. Add me to your addressbook once you get in the game if you want any help or anything. My name in EVE is "Eipok Kruden"

  • whats the track name sum 1 plz

  • I believe its from in game background music... and I don't know the name.

  • Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to see an EVE feature film, I think Babylon 5 meets DUNE and that would pretty much hit the mark.

  • look up a machinema called: CLEAR SKIES.

  • And now with the empyrean age expansion the game becomes more interesting for lone wolf players. As players can join NPC factions and corps and fight for them.

  • wow

  • Im downloading the trial now !!!

  • yeah but they should mention it briefly, just so the person knows who they are.

And my theory on how their so advance from everyone else is that they met an alien race(that has now died out) gave them the advance tech.

  • you really should read the backstory.

the jove didn't meet an alien race, the nearly became one themselves. they were the first to rise from the dark ages.

they went so far in genetic engineering that they created an incurable disease among they're people. the remaining healthy jove left our space and closed the route behind themselves.

but as I said, you should read the backstory.

  • Jovians did not meet an Alien race they were advanced in genetic engineering, which was backed by their Government. This Genetic engineering made them more intelligient hence why they pulled themselves out of the dark age quickly and why they are so advanced then the other races. However like hyperforce said there genetic engineering came at a price when they played even further creating a Jovian disease. This and other mutations has stumped their growth and only number a fraction of the others.

  • i know their was something wrong of this video.. the JOVE!!!!!!!!!11 where the hell r they?

  • The Jove are the mythical 5th race.

Its rare to recieve news about them and its even more rare when you actually see one (the chances of owning a titan are larger).

Since they are not all that important to the intro movie of the game as they belong more to the backstory (they are a large source of advanced tech in the game).

  • The reason why its rare to see a Jove is because they are the Developers and owners of the game.

  • no, they're used by CCP, but CCP can use anybody.

  • "they are the Developers and owners of the game" So yeah CCP.

  • this is a great intro to a great game, and who in hell would not give this 5 stars, IT IS THE ACTUAL INTRO TO THE GAME, so, if u did not give at least 4 stars, i am sry, but that is retarded

  • The new patch Empyrian Age has just been released today!, it doesnt do much for me since im a miner.

  • Well, the economy for T1 Cruisers/Frigs is booming already, expect Mineral prices to change.

  • O_o?

I do trades for money, why didn't I think of putting some money in some frigates?

  • actually, FW should help, it could increase your profits for minerals and things you manufacture, ect.

  • they are going to have to change this movie, now that faction warfare is going to be coming out in about a month (i believe), at the end of the movie, it says that the races have lived in relative peace, but Faction Warfare is goign to be about the empires fighting once again, lol hell, the gallente just flew a super carrier into a caldari station a few weeks ago, that is an act of war, lol

  • story wise, it was a rogue high ranked officer.

but yeh, they are going to have to change this.

  • Not quite. FW, as of now, is just a semi-cold war of militia. Nothing like the chaos of the first Gallente-Caldari war or the Reclaiming.

As long as CONCORD exists, full out war is not possible. All the stuff on June 10th ended the moment CONCORD recovered from the attack in Yulai. CONCORD has all the Empires by the ass.

  • agreed..

i have gotten a total of approx- 15 hours sleep in the lasy 3 days of play

    0.o

    yes

    Addictive it is.

  • Highly addictive game, even more when I have joined pvp corp

  • I can't play i get error message: CCP exe has ecourage a issue and haves to shut down: all the time it comes when i logg in and start move the ship.

  • i would advise you to reinstall the game and delete your cache folder (not sure where thats located though).

If your game was updated from an older client something could have broken.

next to that, check what you have running along side EVE. Some virus scanners and firewalls can cause havoc on any random program. (spyware and virusses as well).

  • EVE - 'Everyone Versus Everyone'. It's awesome.

  • from what people have been saying, this is a more appealing MMORPG than WOW. Id play it but im on this dang mac, and theyr sayin its not that refined yet. Hope they release a better version soon.

  • the game is very refined, offcourse a lot of improvements can still be made.

The mac client, i'm not to sure off, though I could understand that that might still be less than perfect compared to the normal pc install.

  • for this, my friend, you are in luck, we have a corp member in our corp who is on a Mac, and he is on the game probably the most out of everyone tbh, lol, you should be fine

  • best MMORPG ever... far better than WOW... the complexity of it is unbelievable, it takes time to get your head round it but when you do, and your in a corporation (if not made one, like i have) and making tonnes of money then its just amazing lol... started playing this in 2006 and never looked back :)

  • True, but you HAVE to be in a corperation to really enjoy this game, its the teamwork and commadaraism (if thats a word) that keeps you locked in the game. Cause once you join that world you'll find that the game's features are only the tools to create whatever you want (as long as it has something to do with spaceships).

  • the best thing with eve online is, It isn't ITEMBASED like wow, Tabula rasa and alot, ALOT more other games. This game require a brain that talks more then the items you have.

  • this game is awesome. Ive been playing one and off since it came out 5 years ago....it just keeps getting better. I actually won a trip to iceland from CCP, the company which makes it. CCP is way cool, as are all the players I met there. I cant say enough nice things about this game, it is that cool. The client is free, you only pay for the subscription, after you trial.

  • could any one give me a good reason why i should buy this game?

  • Player driven economy, very god PVP, great skill training system, good graphics with trinity, only decent space MMO so if your into that no other options. Get the free trial and do the tutorial to see if you will like it. Sadly you cant see much of what eve has to offer in 14 days but it show a little.

  • if you get the trail trough Steam (just the trail and client and its free) you get 21 days.

  • I heard that, once you get into this game, it's like that paradise they expected on the other side of the astral gateway. I've been thinking of buying it for a very long time, maybe I should go buy it tomorrow. =)

  • does anyone else find her voice sexy?

  • This is really, really nostalgic, reminds me of my nub days in Eve. Which were the best, IMO.

  • LONG LIVE THE CALDARI STATE!!

  • O god!

    i'm attracting fanboys :P

  • this game is just so fukin interseting!

  • long live the gallente fedaration

  • negatory. long live the minmatar republic.

  • the reclaiming is coming.....

  • (Insert Amarr stuff here)

    Lasers FTW TBH.

  • Damn i love EVE online, Prefe Caldari above all else ;D

  • EVE is a tight game but its to damn complicated, when im done wid school or something and want to enjoy my freetime by playing EVE, it just remineds me of school again lost of wierd shit, WoW is more simple, but again, not as hardcore

  • hardcore in the its seriousness, but in terms of time spend in order to level up wow if far more intense, EVE automaticly trains, though you need money to buy skill books, which needs time, you don't need to grind hours on end to get those skills.

  • lol, yea true but some skills take up days to develope, were in wow u can get em instently and i mean u got to get used to EVE and it takes sometime, WoW any idiot could play that he jus need the book as a guide and the got it from there. its also the simple and more comon way of gaining XP and gold

  • yeh but you have to remember one thing though, EVE has no level system, you can use what you have trained, if you want to you can set your initial skills up so that they can get you pretty much right away in a cruiser, from there you can be compete with the rest of the game within a matter of days (if you play clever). In Wow, your not going to beat a lvl 10 character if your just lvl 5, no way (I tried :P)

  • lol, agree. im jus not used to playing games like dat. EVE is original

  • true and even a new player like me is needed in fleet battles to lock down nd shit

  • Exactly thats what i LOVE about eve it takes time and it takes alot of Realistic things into retrospect like tracking speed when someone has a MWD on you can't hit them with a large rail just impossible and its moves and countermoves EVE is a UNIVERSE OF VERSTALITY tracking speed accuracy falloff and optimal ranges you'll just LOVE it

  • "EVE is not for the weak"

Great thing about EVE is the PVP is REAL, makes WoW look very soft. If you blow up, your losses can be real - you don't just repair your broken armor; you can actually lose things, even territory. The rush from EVE PvP makes WoW boring. WoW has sadly watered down into staged BG PvP these days on most realms, just like modern-day martial arts :(

Skillpoints=XP/level on EVE. The thing is that it auto-trains when set, even offline. Therefore, I can have a ACTUAL life! :D

  • Everytime I see this intro I wanna buy buy my PC faster so I can play this game.

  • This game is only for the hardcore. WoW kiddies need not apply.

  • I tried to frap the intro it was mass after I got done with it. With out haveing the audio turned off.

  • Anyone who haven't seen this needs to get EVE Online and watch it properly, in full screen with high-def sound. It's amazing!

  • EVE is a pretty worthless game unless you join a proper 0.0 alliance

  • depends on what kind of person you are I guess. I like flying expensive ships to do missions

even so, I'm currently going into exploration so I can help my corp in 0.0 :D

your right, and your not. for me, I like solo play just as good

  • im such a nerd for a girl. lol i love the intro. its a good game. i played it.. for about a month. :P

  • yeh, it can get a little dull if you don't go look for something fun though, but so is every mmorpg.

I'm wainting for KALI 3 when they're going to upgrade the ships (and over time the rest of the game) to next gen graphics :D

  • Try for yourself. It is free to download and play for one week.

  • 2 weeks

  • Even better.

  • de-embed?

  • can you make a video of character creation? or whatever the set up is spaceship creation?

  • De-embed it please

  • Already seen, kinda drags on a bit.
