  • I had wondered why I kept seeing all these "emo" comments about SDRE and now I understand why. It's these images! Let me take you back to the 90's..picture guys snowboarding down a snowy mountain in slow motion with joy all over their faces. That's what they were back in the good old 90's:) SDRE was the background music in a ton of snowboarding video's. Oh the good old days!

  • 5,869 views for the perfect song? I'm kinda disappointed.

  • @ekeleroxdrummer101 Totally agree with you on that one.

  • these pictures belong in a 30 seconds to mars video.

  • This is one of those songs that would make me love to lye in bed with someone that I'm in love with on those Summer nights, Or while the rain is falling and lye there listening to this song on the stereo; While cuddling your Love.

  • i think all these pictures were made after the song came out lol

  • sdre is not emo r scene so what the fuck is up with these pics? they belong in a fucking video of these stupid alternative emo videos

  • This video is so gay. Way to associate SDRE to a bastard genre who exploits the psyche of kids for a capital gain. I don't understand why being "emotional" means conforming to "scene", a fashion, and an outlook on life. Why are these melodramatic faggots even compared to them? SDRE is above all that shit.

I can't understand the whole "emo" scene after SDRE and Rites of Spring, someone wanna explain it to me?

  • what a fucking chill song, soo good.

  • Love this song and pictures are very lovely too :)

  • @GothKid72 THANK U.........

  • my whole life has been the ghost of a dream. and i walk though this mortal coil forever in awe by the beauty i see in all things. my death has been but a breath, a fraction of a second away so many times and yet i still live. every day is a gift.

  • this is so beautiful XD

    Not loving the pictures.

  • This song is great :). If you can understand his singing, its because hes singing it 25% in greek. a good song to listen to when your totally stoned

  • Thank you for your contribution and devotion. All the pictures are beautiful because they came from your heart, and those of mischief best hush their sour grapes. outtie500

  • thanks for correcting my mistake, the true is that im from Central America, so i don´t speak a perfect english and sometimes i make stupid mistakes like this!

  • @isquarejenny chill its just a typo

  • @isquarejenny ....ok youtube video title nazi

  • scene kids annoy me.

  • agreed.

  • That's horrible, "emo" music shouldn't even be near emo kids, they listen to screamo metalcore type of stuff by the way... PLEASE stop making vids

  • Great song... didn't like the images, though. All of them showed the asthetic side of whatever emo is. Jeremy Enigk most likely based this melancholic song off the story of Grendel, a misunderstood, bitter soul. May I ask politely what you were expressing by posting images of 100 lb 16 year old kids that are part of a silly tend such as emo? The video seemed more appropriate for an All-American Rejects vid than something as amazing as Sunny Day Real Estate. Please stop cheapning good music.

  • @sentimetal being a 16 year old who weighs a 100 lb means that you're an emo now...? wtf

  • @sentimetal It's easy what he's trying to express, he wanted to be them, but instead he destroyed himself :p lol

  • @sentimetal Nicely put!

  • beautiful song.

  • Youre comment was so stupid, i had to cut myself after i read it.

  • Well, tbh i don think thi insults emo at all.

    i think it promotes it

    x

  • why do you insult emo with those poser images?

  • Well, i guess everyone is free to express something and that was my way......U are free to do another video if u don´t like mine!

  • If I may ask, what the fuck are you trying to express?

Cliche stereotypical photos don't say anything. :/

    They're only bastardizing the music.

  • @DomoTsukuneL FUCK U!

  • yup i agree as well

putting those pictures doesnt exactly fit with old school real emo music

mind as well put flowers, the sunset, and anything thats beautiful cuz this song is beautiful =]

  • The guitar riff at 1:15 makes me think of Minus the Bear, and a Cap'n Jazz song

  • i'm pretty sure its real "Estate"

  • I always loved this song from them. Can't figure out why its named grendel? The artwork in the cd with the leafed face man is pretty cool for this song.

  • I'm not sure if the lines are quotes from the novel "Grendel" by John Gardner or not, but at the very least they seem inspired by the character from that novel (not the version seen in Beowulf). "I wanted to be them, but instead destroyed myself. The rain washed away my tears". At least that's what it says in the liner, I don't hear "The rain washed away my tears" in there.

I highly recommend the novel Grendel, by the way, it's Beowulf from the monster's point of view. Very well written.

  • Oh, and I don't get the vampire thing either, I don't think it fits at all.

  • Correction, "the rain was there to wash away my tears". Anyway, I still don't hear it, maybe it's whispered. And, I have no idea what he's saying after "I wanted to be them, but instead destroyed myself".

    It's a great song though.

  • I did read beowulf in grade school. I didn't realize there was a book from the point of view from grendel thanx i will check it out.

  • great song, but the images couldn't be more ridiculous and inappropriate

  • Putting neo emo with old emo isn't a good idea.

  • I agree with arcadianskies77, those pictures don't depict the song or Sunny Day Real Estate in any way and they're just lame on top of that. Good thing the song is so good.

  • doesnt sound like the grendel i know but its alright

  • Great song. The pictures you put to it are beyond lame though.

  • Sunny Day Real Estate... SDRE...

    Cool vid, great song!
