I first found out about this game in 1998 but I've never played it until two days ago. I just finished it last night.Definitely worth it even after 14 years!

Epic story, epic atmosphere, excellent voice overs (for its time) but some of the worst illogical and random puzzles ever. The scene involving the tomb is by far one of the worst puzzles I've ever solved. I remember solving it as a kid and just being blown away at the stupidity. The turtle-bomb is also somewhat out of nowhere too.

How true! We are a young race. We have so much to learn. Why do we fight so much among ourselves. Why would any foreign species want to contact us being the way we are? This ending just goes to show that everyone has the ability to distinguish what is right and wrong, regardless of background. If only we could stop trying to separate something that should be left as one. That being the human race.

They should have had Maggie die a little earlier on in the game to increase to emotional impact and feeling of isolation. I felt like they brought her back a little too soon. Anyway, amazing game through and through. I beat it months ago and still frequently think back at it. The whole game was filled with so much atmosphere.

I remember the aliens explaining that he just looks older but will still live a healthy life or something. I remember being really grossed out when I saw him the first time.

You know I think that this game is like a very well done choose your own adventure movie, good animation, deep story, addictive, I may have only been 3 when this came out, when my dad got his 95, i remeber the game demo disk that had a teaser for this and I wanted to play it soooo bad

My god, I loved this game. I remember begging my dad to swap out our nightly story time for gameplay time, instead. 30 minutes a night for weeks, one puzzle at a time, until we finally beat it. I agree with what who is it, MasterNinjaScarab, said--Dig captured a sense of wonder that seems to be increasingly lost. I miss that sense of joy and discovery in computer games.

This was the most epic game I played as a kid - I just replayed it last night from start to finish - still just as awesome. Deep and engaging, they simply do not make games like this anymore. A full 5/5 from me.

Totally agree... That was a game i got into from start to end, the music, the atmosphere, everyhing was perfect... I remember playing it back in 96, every new door i opened , every new area i was exploring, gave me a feeling i cannot describe.. You right, they dont make games like this any more...

Ermm, I read somewhere sometime ago that the original script was to make a movie, but at the time, to get it perfectly done, was quite a challange and expensive, then decided not to discart the original story and make a game of it.

I don't know, I don't trust rumors too much, but in this case it really made sense when I knew about.

I don't really get it though, did the Chocobo bring Maggie from an alternate-timeline, because in order to get this, didn't you have to use the crystals on Maggie?

oh, dear Terestrasz, you didn't have to use the allmighty cristals in order to revive Maggie, cause she begged you not to do it!! If you did so, then the game would reward you with this good ending, but if you didn't, oh man, great disgraces would come into your computer and your mental status!!
