  • What kata is this?? Is this an Asai creation??

  • Yes, kata I taught in this class were Senka, Shotei-Dai and Rakuyo. All were developed by Asai Sensei. By the way, thank you very much for your kind PM.

    Best regards from Japan, Andre

  • Hi Tyler, I'm not sure if I taught Lyall Sensei Shotei-dai or Shotei-sho, but I think I taught him Rakuyo. You'll have to ask him... Regardless he is a superb instructor and you are fortunate to have him as your Sensei. I taught him all of the JKA kata and he also trains the Junro like all the other international instructors do now. Beyond the 26 standard Shotokan kata and five Junro, we have many Asai-ryuha bujutsu kata. However, these are not mandatory kata but rather for special purposes. OSU

  • Does Sensei Lyall Stone know this kata?

I'm one of his students. I'm also an ex student of your old friend Sensei John flavell. I met you once about 13 years ago at the Okinawa-te dojo.

  • Very nice kata.

  • fantastic hip movement!!

  • interesting Kata,

way different from any kata I've seen in our Dojo so far.

  • This is a really nice kata shotay...the movements are fluid and beautiful to watch, i wish the rest of the kata was here...i'm sure given by the glimpse you've given us of your execution of kata, you perform it really well..shall wait with anticipation for your next upload
