I don't think it was the TV that broke, rather the glass door to the shelfs. I'm pretty sure the TV would have made a popping sound because of the heat, electricity and the tubes. Kinda like popping a light bulb that's been on for a couple hours.

If you look at where the glass is, it's in front of the guitar that's in front of the shelfs. You can still hear the TV too. Sorry for the wall of text.
