I am surprised why the doctor did not give you adequate pain medication at this point. In 2009 I do not understand why you should suffer. You need sleep as well.

Agreed, such a honest and genuine video. It would be good to see more of Erin in the vids talking about being a partner of a MtF trans. It would be good seen as all the videos around are about the person them selves and not about how partners deal with the issues as well. Would be good as my boy friend has no real "support" on the issue of dating a transperson apart from the odd brief video. xx

A very honest and open vlog, both in what was spoken as well as what was not spoken. FFS changes your life. Totally. Anyone who doesn't believe that should see this video. There is a period of grieving. The old you is gone forever. It does look like you will be stunningly beautiful. Erin may not be able to live with that. Something you both must face. You will be so happy as time passes. Nothing will be the same. Always the happiness has a bitter aftertaste which fades slowly...

You will look lovely. I didn't think you even needed it, but you are going to look more lovely than before. Yeah, it is painful, and so is SRS, but it is what we are willing to endure to overcome the results of our affliction. FFS is know to be especially painful and uncomfortable. I can understand Erin;s concern, but things will get better. Best always!

It's an interesting thing how the face is so emblematic of the individual. I'm sure Erinn will come to know and love the new face as much as she did the old one (after all, it's attached to a truly incredible person), but it may take a bit of time to get over the cognitive dissonance. For me it took three month before the bruising and swelling was gone...so be patient :-)

It is a lot of pain to go through. That is if I am going to go through all that pain I am going to make sure I get amximum bone work, not just a little burring. I really hope that once the swelling goes down it will be all you expect. Good luck!

So far it looks like alot more than "just a little burring" to me. As for getting more bone work done, that will result in *more* pain (and more risks).

I hope that peoples reaction to your choice does not leave you feeling guilty! I can imagine that seeing a loved one change so much so quickly can be shock, but it's all a part of the path you are on to be what you truly want to be... and sometimes big changes occur on that path, we all have to deal with it or make a fast move at some point or another. I am anxiously awaiting the unveiling of your new face!

These videos are amazing. Thanks SO MUCH for doing them. I have told my girlfriend that she should watch them. I gave her links to your first video, your vid on hair removal (which is what I'm at the start of now) and the four before this one, where (Erin???) starts appearing in the vids gradually. I think she (my gf) will get a lot out of them. I appreciate your being frank about the pain & the cost, but I sit here outside the experience thinking that you will eventually find it worth it.

Erin is right. Crying when you see a loved one transforming and going through so much pain is something that is to be expected. It's not a bad thing, it only shows that it cares. Good luck with your mom and prompt healing.

Have you taken any time to go outside? I,m sure that the two of you are getting very stir-crazy. You could put on a hoodie and I don't think people would stare too much. For me, going outside releases stress and helps to put me more at peace. So if you can, go sit outside somewhere for a while.
