My husband was stationed at RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge. We were there from November 1986 to April 1990. We lived in Felixstowe the whole time. It was quite an experience.
Was shutdown or, "Mission Completion" in 1993,it's always a sad day when an active and historical airbase closes it's doors. You can thank Senators Graham and Rudman, and the decline of the Soviet Union.

The C5 ramp is still there at Bentwaters and is in a very good condition. The main tarmac runway is also still kept to a very high spec.
