i don't think the drive is entirely dead i think its just got some bad sectors do a check disk if you can because if it was totally dead it wouldn't have even began to load
Ohh! good old toshiba Satellite 200CDS! I have it too! And I hear Seagate Marathon 811,2mb inside! I have same problem thats just bad sectors and old drive! My drive is still working with that problem!
Did that one come with the *gasp* optional internal CD-ROM drive/external floppy arrangement? My classic Toshiba laptop (Pentium 100 MMX) is a pain to get anything transferred across - 95A is early enough to not have a hope for its single USB port on the back, and it has no network adapter (or dial-up modem either) and only an internal 3.5" floppy drive (taking up the CD-ROM space found in 'upmarket' models) as a means of moving stuff across!
COD4 or other gaming software sucks on PC. play it on video games. lets break and mess around with windows 95 computers.
