Maybe with the exception of buddhism since it is, in its true form, a philosophy rather than a religion. The way it is practised by most people is distincly religious, however.
@mjohanss1975 I studied the bible because i was required too. I'm a swede and as such, we are required to study the qu'ran, the bible, the torrah and some buddhist and hindu texts. Like most swedes and just like everybody in my class, I was an atheist but since I was always a straight A student, I actually read what was required of us rather than just glanse at it like most in my class did. I found the bible to be riddled with contradictions and filled with claims have been proven false.

It asks us to stop bettering ourselves and simply accept whatever has been said thousands fo years ago by an unknown source.

Lots of lies survives for thousands of years. After all, if one of the religions is right, then the others are wrong and are therefore lies that have survived for thousands of years. @hannahr77 See on the internet anyone can just come and make comments i have faced the likes of you in the streets of London..and never have I come across a single preacher or priest be he from England or a Nigerian (lots of Christian preachers from Nigeria now in London) could answer my questions or give logical answers. They would come to preach and go back with so many questions that they never ventured into our streets again

@mjohanss1975 It is the one and only word of God, proven time and time again to be accurate even by non believers. Is it holier than other texts? It is the only truth therefore it is the only holy text. In the beginning was The word {Jesus Christ} and the word was with God and the word was God and the word became flesh {Jesus Christ}. God in the flesh. Any text that goes against Gods nature is not of Him. Only you can study for yourself and make your own decisions.

@shantor100 well, to be frank, I would have on include any and all religions into that category, at least the ones I've come into contact with. Maybe with the exception of buddhism since it is, in its true form, a philosophy rather than a religion. The way it is practised by most people is distincly religious, however.

@mjohanss1975 I studied the bible because i was required too. I'm a swede and as such, we are required to study the qu'ran, the bible, the torrah and some buddhist and hindu texts. Like most swedes and just like everybody in my class, I was an atheist but since I was always a straight A student, I actually read what was required of us rather than just glanse at it like most in my class did. I found the bible to be riddled with contradictions and filled with claims have been proven false.

@mjohanss1975 Im curious as to why or what you are searching for in reading all of these religions. Cristianity is also a way of life rather than a practice. If you go back and read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the bible you will see that Jesus really turned the whole thing upside down and ticked off alot of people so much so that they killed him.He didnt come onto the world to condemn it but rather to save it. He hung out with the not so prominant. Tax collectors, prostitutes and so on.

I still however come to the same conclusion when I look at the sun and moon hovering over earth....There is a God and a creator and there is more to this life than we think we know. There are things happening to people in the world that would blow your mind, meaning "religiously". People that previously had no beliefs at all. You have to admit that there is no logical explaination

@shantor100 i believe there is a logical explanation to everything. Absolutely anything can be explained scientifically. Leaving explanations up to religions just leaves to many gaps, too much that remains unexplained and just plain doesn't make sense. I'm not comfortable with anything that doesn't make sense.

I think its the atom or a part of it that scientifically is supposed to be repelled by its counterpart yet it does the opposite and is attracted to it. Did you ever consider that maybe science has its dead ends so that you may question what is the glue that holds the universe together. Things dont make sense for a reason I think.

I think the more scientists and doctors find out, the more they realize they dont know. There are billion yr gaps in evolution too and way too much assumption. I still think that something that was written thousands of yrs ago is still in existence and being read by people from around the world. How does a "lie" survive that long? It cant be propaganda

@shantor100 sure there are gaps in science. Gaps, as yet, unexaplained. But these gaps will eventually be filled. However, religion tells us to give up, to stop trying to understand things. Even Martin Luther himself said "Faith must trample underfoot all sense, reason and understanding." This is not a philosophy that I would call pro-learning. It asks us to stop bettering ourselves and simply accept whatever has been said thousands fo years ago by an unknown source.

He actually suggested that maybe we were created by aliens or other beings but had no answer as to who created them. Talk about circles and making no sense. Why is it easier to believe we came from sludge than to believe we were created by God and no I do not have all of the answers as to where God came from and so on.

"Seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened" I personally know people that have seen the unexplainable and Im not talking about the human mind playing tricks or halucinating. Religion is no harder to belive then saying the dew claw on my dog was for when he used to climb trees but ironically still has.

Science has come very far in 50 years though in explaining things that religion failed to explain in the past 250,000 years since the first religions first started making an appearance. if u want to choose religion and simply give up on trying to understand the universe then go ahead. Evolution makes perfect sense and it is now an established fact, no longer a theory.

@shantor100 Big bang is just one theory and science is still exploring other possibilities. Evolution, however, is about to lose its status as a theory and become fact. Lots of lies survives for thousands of years. After all, if one of the religions is right, then the others are wrong and are therefore lies that have survived for thousands of years. Doesn't this prove that a lie can survive for that long? I mean, buddhists and christians can't both be right about what happens in the afterlife.

Sometimes that want so bad to fill the gaps that they have falsified their findings such as the in between species from one creature to another. I just can't stand when their starting point is unproven. Forty billion yrs ago a fish decided it was better to breath air so it walked out of the water one day and became a bird or something else.
