Silverdub, you are correct. Jo Stafford left the Pipers in 1944. The vocalist was June Hutton if memory serves. That song was very popular at the Hollywood Roller Skating Rink. Very easy to dance to on skates.
Lovely song--thanks for uploading. I am not altogether sure that the voice is that of Jo Stafford. Would it perhaps be one of the later lead singers with the Pied Pipers?
