No one is looking to change the country to socialism. The problem in the end won't be the system, but the people who use it unjustly. There is nothing wrong with capitalism, just the people who use it to satisfy greed.

Most of the problems come from Clinton's repeal of The Glass-Steagall Act in 1999. What happened was that The Commercial Banks, that in the past, provided basic services like checking accounts & normal credit cards, have become financial parasites by merging with predatory Real Estate Lenders, predatory Investment Bankers and they've become something entirely different from what they were over 10 years ago!
So the banks that once provided essential financial services, they've now taken on their basic identity from more and more parasitic, purely extractive activities, that don't add anything to the means of production or to the real economy. All they do is siphon off, rake off charges & fees for everything they provide. They literally SUCK.

The fact that Occupy Wall Street broke into private church property using bolt cutters to cut thru the fence & locks and then poured into the property is a matter of public record. No matter what newspaper you read, that story is in it. There are also police records, because it was breaking and entering (no permission from the church). And it was a sorry way to treat a church who supported them.
Behind these sweet little faces, this 'movement' smashed business windows and covered Oakland in graffiti, committed rape and pushed drugs in New York, and, also, took bolt cutters and used them to cut into a church fence, cutting the fence and the locks of Trinity Church in New York before going there without an okay from the church (who used to support them before that). Actions speak louder than words, folks. Fear and deceit got you to a certain level, but Americans saw behind your mask . .

Secondly, the number of deportations in 2008 (under Bush) was approximately 360,000 and the number of deporations in 2010 (under Obama) was approximately 387,000. His recent scandal hardly calculates into his viability for me, as I cannot confirm the veracity of the claims.

Becoming a more punitive society, with less economic opportunity, no minimum wage, no social programs to help the poor, to feed the children, ect, will not benefit communities that are stuck in the culture of poverty, or that make bad decisions.
Cain didn't get involved in the Civil Rights movement. Like many, he chose to "stay in his place". That was his choice of course.

Most of the problems come from Clinton's repeal of The Glass-Steagall Act in 1999. What happened was that The Commercial Banks, that in the past, provided basic services like checking accounts & normal credit cards, have become financial parasites by merging with predatory Real Estate Lenders, predatory Investment Bankers and they've become something entirely different from what they were over 10 years ago!

I never reply to comments where people use foul language or name calling, as occupy folks freq. do. The fact that Occupy Wall Street broke into private church property using bolt cutters to cut thru the fence & locks and then poured into the property is a matter of public record. No matter what newspaper you read, that story is in it. There are also police records, because it was breaking and entering (no permission from the church). And it was a sorry way to treat a church who supported them.

Secondly, the number of deportations in 2008 (under Bush) was approximately 360,000 and the number of deporations in 2010 (under Obama) was approximately 387,000. That is an increase of 7.5%, not 45%. Thirdly, there are more illegal immigrants coming into this nation than there were under Bush. Finally, the Obama administration has been attacking states for enforcing federal laws and supporting those that ignore federal laws.

His recent scandal hardly calculates into his viability for me, as I cannot confirm the veracity of the claims.

Becoming a more punitive society, with less economic opportunity, no minimum wage, no social programs to help the poor, to feed the children, ect, will not benefit communities that are stuck in the culture of poverty, or that make bad decisions.
Cain didn't get involved in the Civil Rights movement. Like many, he chose to "stay in his place". That was his choice of course.

The culture of dependency can be vanquished, but it will require the confidence of the American people that things will actually get better if we apply ourselves.
Many people go bankrupt from simple things like a hospital visit though, and figure, "Why try?"

@Daisy123M If you look for racism, you will find it. We live in a highly racialized society, to the point that anything can be made to be racist.
It is better to just avoid the issue, unless institutional racism is really going on in front of you.
That being said, I think the sentencing for people with crack, compared to cocaine, is highly racist, as well as marijuana laws, police profiling, and the fact that white people get away with their own types of crime, like financial crime.

At least OWS should focus on banning all derivative, and ask for a bank reform banning people from the bank industry regulating itself, the S&P who's giving AAA rating to derivatives, these are the main reasons for the economic crisis of 2008, and bring back the Glass Steagal Act that was removed by the Clinton administration.

Occupy the Fed (Rothschilds owned central bank for USA). End the Fed. End the Rothschilds. Money created out of thin air from a foreign institution charged to you (the 99%) with compound interests is the root of all evil.
