Wow. We read this in our English textbook "Signs of Life in the USA" covering pop culture... The author covering this commercial seriously exaggerated the semiotic approach of this commercial as "elitist yuppie vs lower class populist." It just looks like to me a classy guy vs a plain guy. Not Marxist class-warfare rhetoric mixed with a bit of humor.
