  • @kryss483 Eu sunt roman. Are you from Transilvania? Your accent sounds sort of mellow like people from Transilvania? :)

  • Hii! is there any place where we can learn writing? i am blind and i cant see what is on the screen, i can just hear your voice :) thank you for the videos!

  • Ce faceți, I'm trying to learn some more Romanian but am finding it difficult because I don't have anybody to speak it with! Can anybody help? I love these videos by the way!! Mulțumesc mult!

  • Nu se zice "From where do you come from?" cii "Where do you come from?" :D

  • at the time of 3:37 of this lesson 3.

the word aichi is spoken by you and sounds like aich, how come?

when you said cati ani ai in another video i think, it sounded like you said coots ani ai with no " ee " sound for the i at the end of cati, did you pronounce the "ee" for the i and i just did not hear it?

  • @hashmell Because i can be a semivocal in Romanian, so it will be milder, like the j in Swedish or Finnish.

  • @kryss483 we are already discussing this question so i will not continue this question but thank you!!

  • im romanian and i cant speak it because im also from serbia so i can only speak serbian thanks for the videos

  • am traveling to Romania next month to study and I hope u put more grammar ..... thanx a lot ...

  • Omg,I am romanian and for me this is so funny=))

  • TOO GOOD!!!!! it looks like to spanish, i mean, in vocabulary...

  • It seems as if you are putting a "y" sound in front of any word that begins with an 'e,' why is that?

  • @VidSir

romanian is like that, you pronounce I to a lot of words that start with E

  • @VidSir it help to pronounce the words. in Romanian we have a soft i, because i can be a vocal and a semivocal

  • @VidSir In Romanian, that is how it is pronounced. Like in Slavic languages, for example, they pronounce their Js like Is, in Romanian, if the E is at the beginning of a word, it is like an I. It helps pronounce the word easier, such as "ea". Ea would sound quite weird and be harder to say without the E being pronounced with an I in front of it :)

  • Wow... You have really nice voice! :)

Your videos are very interest and useful.

I am linguist, but i have some new learn ;)

  • Please Keep it simple. There are other more depth youtubes to watch but this is the best to hearing the pronunciation of the words.

  • This is the best and easiest utube I have found to learn Romania

  • hello, i have an important request and would appreciate your accomodation: i would like more thorough and in depth conversations in romanian. i would like more difficult and advanced lessons on learning romanian. your videos are very helpful and i use them to improve my familiarity with this language, and i would like you to make several more. multumesc!

  • why the ''i'' doesnt make sound?

  • I think the first thing I got out of this video is that when the pronoun is "eu" then is very often ommitted?

I like your word "sunt" (LOL, I actually expected this phone to autocorrect that when I made a typo :-D)... She's such a pretty little word... atleast in terms of how she sounds...

Anyway, I listen to a lot of Romanian music, so mainly my goal is not to listen like a complete idiot as much anymore :-D

  • ce voce dulce ai :D

  • Foarte bine, imi place ca pronunti corect este, cunosc atata lume care pronunta este asa cum se scrie.. thumbs up :D

  • lol can you keep making these videos? they're aweome.

  • im trying to learn Romanian so 1: i can understand him and 2: as a suprise birthday present because i dont have much. this has helped me a lot and i have even had one of my other friends begin to learn it with me. thank you so much for the lessons! Pa!

  • This is bullshit :/, i'm half romanian and cannot speak the language anymore... I used to speak it fluently when I was like three/four years old, then we moved to england and now i've almost toally forgot everything, however I remember so many of these words I think I'll be able to speak it fluently again after learning for maybe a few months I hope :)

  • Mai corect era in engleza: Where do you come from?"

  • How do you say Car? Is it masina? Do you pronounce the N?

  • @ding17dong

Yes it's masina [Ma-shi-na], and yes you pronounce the N. You're welcome.

  • @PentruRasaAlba thank you I'm trying to learn Romanian and i just wanted to make sure i was pronouncing it correctly.

  • great videos, you really have some didactic talent and a clear pronounciation.. think I'll just try to memorize some of these basic verbs and phrases.

  • your videos are very helpfull.. thanks a lot

  • Do you have any sisters or brothers is a tongue twister in romanian O.o

  • @DominoHours haha xD

  • Vezi ca se zice "where do you come from" nu "from where do you come"

  • Are you a girl or a guy?

  • @ShyAndPlayful I'm a girl xD

  • @kryss483 good for you

  • @kryss483 Catsi ani ai?

  • de unde vii ??

    are you sure ? :$

  • The sweet accent, Romania women certainly are a beauty in many ways. :D

  • hi, are you Romanian? If so, how common is the last name Pauca in Rumania?

  • @korndavisx we don't have such a name :)))) maybe you were refering to Paula

  • @korndavisx oh last name .... srry , my missunderstanding ... it's not so common ... last names wich have the termination -"escu" are more common :)

  • Hi, I Iike your videos. I want to learn Romanian but I'm focusing more now in French.

I speak Spanish,English and intermediate French. I hope to learn soon your language :D

    nice voice.

  • Comment removed

  • your voice is nice

  • @lolaussiekid thank you :)

  • i went to romania once and i love, i wanna go back , and this is going to help me a lot thx so much for posting this.

i think i'll get it soon cause my mother tongue is spanish.

    multumesc frumos .

    Larevedere

  • @andrew2252 well , i want to learn some spanish ... i already know english and french ... i wanna ad more latin based languages to my linguistic vocabulary :D

  • @DeathNest94 if u need hel just let me know, i'll be more than happy to assist u

  • can i say also: ma chiama... in stead of: numele meu este?

  • @elasticeinsatz Yes, you can say that too. You just write it with 'e': mă cheamă :)

  • @elasticeinsatz it's "mă cheamă" and yes you can use it , but try to avoid using it in more formal circumstances

  • This is so great. mulţumesc.I always found romanian language very facinating.

  • for 4:04 I would rather say "I have lived here for ........ years."

In any case, frumos video. :D

  • Thanks for these videos! I really need to understand more Romanian and this actually helps! :)

  • little latin example : latin: Ego sunt Octavianus ; romanian : Eu sunt Octavian :D

  • @DeathNest94 Tnx for this xD

  • @kryss483 nu ai pentru ce :D , si app filmuletele tale sunt ,cred eu , destul de interactive si usor de prins :P succes in continuare , salutari din Bacau :)

  • @DeathNest94 You're almost right, but the Latin would actually be: ego SUM Octavianus (though most often the 'ego' would be left out, since the conjugation of the verb gives the person). 'Sunt' is third-person plural in Latin, which Romanian may have generalised to the first singular (or sound change may just have created 'sunt' in Romanian independently). :)

  • @jismith1989 i nkow but i was trying to give a more deductible comment... for those who want to catch smth about my language... :)

  • @DeathNest94 Shouldn't it be 'Ego -sum- Octavianus'?

  • Sunt din suedia!

  • @InFlamesAddictive är från Rumänien!

  • @DeathNest94 Woah dude, who comment spammed every1 o.O

  • @DeathNest94 inte jag men lite svårt med engelskt utalande :P

  • In Romanian, is there a formal tense? Like for example Spanish has "usted" or "ustedes" which is used when you are talking to someone or multiple people with respect, for example if you asked your professor "How are you?" in Spanish it would be "Como está usted?" rather than "Como estás tu?" which could be used when talking to your friends for instance.

  • @allygetch Oh, s*it, thanks for reminding me this :) Yes, we have. It's pretty complicated tho. Dumneavoastră, for example, is when you talk to someone older than you, or you just want to be polite. Here you use, as in English, the verb for second person, plural (sunteţi). But there are many forms for this: dumnealui/dumneaei (don't exactly know to translate, but it would be smth like himself/herself, a polite form). And so on ... (I can't write more here, YouTube doesn't give me more space :D)

  • @kryss483 Haha, you're welcome, and thank you I was not entirely sure, but I thought that since Romanian has Latin influences like Spanish, French, Italian, etc. do that. If you could please make a video explaining more in depth that would be greatly appreciated because I've been having a difficult time finding anything on the formal tense in Romanian which has been quite annoying^^;

  • @allygetch Yes, I will try to make a vid, but I don't promise anything, so please don't wait and don't get mad at me cause I dunno when it will be done ... But it's a good idea, tnx :)

  • @kryss483 Hahaha, that's okay, I'm in no hurry I've been learning Romanian on and off for a year now and I can only use first person "to be" and describe with colors:P I think I can wait a bit for the formal tense^_^

  • @kryss483 Can you explain how to pronounce the diphtongs like 'ea'?

  • @SkelaSnave it's like saying the bear , or stair but with stress on that "e" to sound more like the "e" from the word th"e"n ( then)

  • @DeathNest94 What about the phrase 'buna seara'? I read that it's pronounced like 'syeara'. Is that true?

  • @SkelaSnave yeah !

  • @DeathNest94 and the "A" just try to prononounce it like way brits do ... but i can find an american english example as well , like , "a"rmy ( army )

  • @kryss483 dumnealui/dumneaei, sir/ma'm

  • @allygetch oh my goodness... I'm wondering these things too.. i just started recently because my boyfriend is Romanian, and I'm Hispanic so I'm trying to connect the Spanish and some of the French I know from school. I need help from someone that already speaks Spanish and is learning Romanian!

  • @Drea92RR Wow that's really neat, yea I could totally help you, though I must say my Spanish is not really all that advanced unfortunately^^; but I will help with what I can^_^

  • Is the "i" at the end of a word normally devoiced?

  • @CabbageNappa Hmm, good question. I think that yes, but this depends :)

  • I have always wanted to learn Romanian. Thank you so much! :D

  • Can you make a video on how to say i love you, you're beautiful, and other things like that?...

  • @HaloKittyTripp Well, I have already made a video like that ... Ok, as I remember it doesn't include "you're beautiful", but that would be "eşti frumos/frumoasă" :D.

  • @kryss483 Thank you:D

  • @HaloKittyTripp i love you = te iubesc , ( te= latin , iubesc = slavic , liuba ) ; you're beatiful = eşti frumoasă ( eşti , latin , to be : sum, esse ,fui , frumoasă = latin , formosus )

  • Thank you again for the lessons!! Can't wait for the next ones!

    Bună Seara!

  • Thank you really for this. :-) Make some more, te rog. :-)

  • Will you please do a lesson on terms of endearment or words of affection? Thank you so much. Vorbim altadata!

  • @tigress3333 surely I will :) I have "scheduled" some more general lessons, hope I'll get them ready for upload today or tomorrow, then I'll start your request :) Pa! :)

  • yes, sure, stayed tuned; i will upload it as soon as possible :)

  • Cool. Can you do a lesson on colors? :3
