I used the Red Giant Plugin Trapcode Particular... I think you can do it, if it is compatible with vegas...

Hi the are many tutorials outside, just search for "motion tracking".

For tracking the hands I needed 2 steps (first motion tracking and after that applying the trapcode particular effect).

Changing some settings and that's it.

This is AWESOME. I am a novice to after effects, but a whizz at video editing. could you point me in the direction for a tut on how to motion track with the particular effect at the same time? I love the way this followed the dancers hands - banging. :)
