I just had experience of someone with NPD & some of this is acurate like the boasting about designer clothes,qualifications however they are much more complimentry and on the charm offensive initially an idealize you as a souce of narcisisstic supply rather than saying they are better than you, they attempt to make you an extension of themselves even though you are a mere object,trophy to them

As the child of a narcissist, I find some of this video misleading. Narcissism is about creating appearances, but not necessarily physical ones, that gain admiration. It involves manipulating others with a well-honed subtlety that matches their absolute callousness. They beat people up, malinger, lie with no sense of shame and hurl threats upon anyone who criticizes them, all to make themselves feel like autocrats, but they only do things when they think they'll get away with them.

Great way of describing how they think but usually they're not so direct. EX. when battaries in my child's toy, MIL asked if I knew how. I said yes. She asked if I was sure. I said yes as I was opening the package. She then proceeded to jerk everything away from me and put them in herself and handed it all back to me with a huge smerk on her face as if she were so smart. I just want to smack her but I have seen her treat others that way as well so I am not alone.

B) Do not realize that many of the features here have been exaggerated for comedic effect and for the entertainment of the viewer.

Doctors get lazy and misdiagnose way too many people.....i think they get exited about the symptoms and just move onto a conclusion so they have a chance to "cure" patients...its all numbers....those kids here that posted comments probably got misdiagnosed ahaha......but then again to state that you had the disorder shows that you still care about yourself....its a screwed up disorder like football players in HS can't get over their perfect seasons and now they don't go to college but still brag

It is underdeveloped, but it is worth watching. They are much more subtile and cunung. This is more a sort of adolescent narcissisam that will eventualy get cut to smaler size. Adults are much diferent.

No one is that obvious, a true narcissist will hide it with false modesty anytime he/she feels that ne1 else might be catching on to the shallowness of his/her character. I agree with you as well. What was with the narcissist in this video? I think he would have attacked the guys intelligence be4 he attacked his clothing. And the attacks were obvious, I think a true narcissists would have made the guy feel bad about himself instead of directly demeaning him. Narcissists aren't that verbally boastful anyway, it's more ofa "I'm not gonna tell you I'm better than you, I am just gonna let you see it."Usually good actors will research the part.That's not apparent here

Actually, Egoism is a quite common trait among Narcissists. As they lack empathy, and have no care whatsoever about other peoples, atleast if they suffer from NPD, although i assume you mean those normal Narcissists, which does indeed not need to be egoistical, just highly vain and self centered.

The DSM IV-TR criteria does not say anything about no care whatsoever. I was a NPD and I was and still am the most caring person you could find. I did not have empathy, so I did not feel another persons pain, but I would do anything for another person. There are different kind of NPD's. I don't think that all psychopaths are mean either.
