Wild Parrots in the city - Western Corellas in Penrith, NSW

Great to see my fellow-friends in the Wild. I was hand reared and once threw out of fright

from sound of Lawn-mover! It took me crying, like almost 3days to try to get home as I did not know how to fly down great heights of Pine-tree tops in Katoomba.

I really love my family and living at home!

Great video! These are eastern long billed corellas, not western. Eastern have a lot more red in the plumage than western, especially under the throat (as the birds in your video do.)

Mulgoa Road?

Wow... what an eye you have - right on!

Whenever I see them feeding on the side of the road as I drive down Mulgoa Rd, I get the urge to just stop the car, run over and give these sweet birds huge cuddles.

Experience tells me they don't like it. They fly away whenever someone approaches. :(

But, realistically better for them that they avoid humans.

@parrotscience - These trees on Mulgoa Road are the biggest concentration of nesting sites for Cockatoos and Corellas this side of the Bluies that I know of. They are also some of the most beautiful, majestic Grey Gum trees left.

Great shots. We have some long bill corellas and they are so entertaining.
